I agree. Christian Rummel is a brilliant narrator. He has also narrated another series by Vaughn Heppner 'Invaders'. And Bill The Galactic Hero series by Harry Harrison which is laugh out loud funny.

See a lot of complaining, but I found it interesting. It does a good job of gradually integrating and explaining the progression of understanding of what seems to be a pretty in depth universe
I like this one. The hero is an everyday Joe. Maybe a little rough around the edges but are we all not. Lots of evil aliens , robots, lizards, war .typically the setting for interstellar war
I believe in reading at least 1/3 of a book to give it a chance before deciding that I dislike it. With this book, I lost interest early on but kept listening. About half way through now and I'm thinking maybe it could be ok but still waiting to hear something that really grabs my interest and makes me have some investment in the characters. I'm not saying it's bad. If you like it that's great. I'll probably try to finish this book and see if it makes me want to hear more. Thanks for the uploads!

First off I'd like to hear book 2. Second the main guy in this book is an idiot. No wonder they kept calling him a beast. Overall it was a good book. Still wanna hear the second one. I found book 3.
I really want to like this but the narrator keeps whispering then yelling like he is on a roller coaster. It's very hard to fall asleep to. You struggle to hear what he is saying then you dose off the damn near jump out of your skin. That's just my take. I'm awake now and can't wait to get back into it.
20 minutes in and you can tell the author has no clue about the military. "Had me lugging a .50 cal machine gun up and down mountains". WTF. No. Maybe a SAW, but .50 technical is going to be on a HUM-VEE, MRAP, or a Bradley.
Someone has to mobilize the weapon to it's assigned sector of fire. I lugged it quite a few times to fighting positions but the 50 is a crew served weapon so you don't lug it alone. Two barrels, the reciver, bipod and tool bag. We drive to the location but carry it to our fortified fighting position. Many times it's ring mounted on a vehicle. But we do at times lug it.
He keeps talking about using an M14, will will and those were replaced by the M-16 in the mid 60s. We were still issued those was when I was in Korea in '65 and '66.
@@jonbocz In 1969 I trained with the M14 and the M16, I am not sure but I think I qualified with the M16. Two very different weapons really and the M14 was more of a brute.

I just assume that it would be generally a common tech in a diverse galactic universe to have translators in any sort of meeting with diverse beings. Seems reasonable to me.
