Vaughn, the situation that you are describing is called *SLEEP PARALYSIS* It is a terrifying experience where your brain is only partly awake yet you are unable to move It is often accompanied by what people describe as "demons" or "black ghosts" When it happened to me I was absolutely convinced that a large globular black hairy spider was 'floating' toward my face and when it finally connected I awoke screaming It was one of the most terrifying moments of my life
