I grew up in So Cal in the 80’s and 90’s when country clubs were a thing. It was great to have a place to go and swim, play sports, workout, or just socialize. They were family hangouts and always had activities and dances in the evenings. Wish they had things like that again.
I'm happy to see y'all review a Villages Country Club. We check in for our Lifestyle Visit one month from today and plan to include one meal at a CC, but had no clue which one. Your review has answered that question.
@cherialwayslearning4646 , sorry for the confusion. It isn't included in the Lifestyle Visit, we're just going to check one or two out on our own dime as part of the experience. Yeah, I'm psyched to get down there for seven days!
Have eaten at Havana several times and LOVED it. Their excellent management is on top of it all. Also loved their pizza. Many of the Villages restaurants both in the squares and country clubs are run by excellent restaurant ownership "groups". Bottom line...it works!!! providing Villager's great food.
Eaten at all of them except one, we do have favourites. The food and service are generally very good but there can be staffing challenges at times like a lot of establishments.
Never had a bad experience at Havana. The management team is always on the floor at Havana & Prima although desserts aren’t their strong suit . Can’t say enough good things about both restaurants. Another good video 👍
I live on the former Mount Plymouth golf course, it was a cute and quaint and $20 per round with a cart. Sadly it closed many years ago. I live off the left side of a tee box, as most people are right handed and slice, only 1 broken window over 3 years. If I could afford to retire to villages, I would, but good to know you can eat at clubhouse without needing a membership
That’s not too many broken windows so that’s good haha. Yeah it’s nice that they welcome all who are in the area a chance to eat at their country clubs!
The Lopez Legacy Restaurant is so much better than any other “country club”. We’ve been to them all many times, and there is no question which is best. Check it out.
In all fairness, how are we supposed to know? We didn’t go ask other tables if they got a free appetizer or ask the manager if they gave out other free appetizers. We considered it a blessing and enjoyed it!
The problem is the quality changes. We were there a few nights ago at 7:30. Fried chicken dinner was cooked earlier in the day & had a rancid smell. They brought us a replacement jack Daniel burger but the sauce almost covered our plate, all over the fries which were soggy. It was a mess. The beautiful rolls you had were smashed flat and cold. It was an awful meal which we didn’t eat. Maybe it was because we were late. They were cleaning up & we barely saw our server.
I think if you go early when the chicken is fresh ( earlier when they cooked it) it would have probably been much better. Which fried chicken did you prefer McCalls or Havana (fried chicken day)? Thanks.
You won't be disappointed by either. I would stay aways from the Fires from Edna's not that they aren't good. Imo just not as good as the other sides especially the baked bean and collard greens
You should remove your cap when you’re in a country club or a nice restaurant. Look around you… how many people do you see wearing ball caps? When you covered, uncover when you’re uncovered cover.
It is a golf country club meaning it is on a golf course. Plenty of people actually stop in there while playing golf. An appropriate golf attire is a hat and collared shirt, hence the outfit I was wearing. In fact, we counted how many people were wearing hats in there and there were a lot because that is what you wear when golfing. Hats are acceptable. Also, they do not have a dress code.
I love your channel and both of you but I do have to agree about removing a hat when dining inside a restaurant. Although there may not be a dress code, it's kind of an unspoken rule to remove a hat when inside a restaurant or theater. In the video I don't see anyone wearing a cap although perhaps they were wearing caps just coming off the golf course and going in for a drink at the bar. Anyway, thank you for the good video. I love seeing your restaurant reviews. You are both honest and kind and it's much appreciate.
@pattiebravata7462 so I used to work at a very nice golf course. In fact it was a top course in Missouri. Lots of people wore hats, especially in the restaurant and it actually was welcomed. In this restaurant, we counted at least 6 or 7 other people sitting at tables who were wearing hats. It’s a golf course club house. If they didn’t want people to wear hats, they would have a dress code like some of the other locations in The Villages. I think golf attire is some of the most classy attire out there. Any golf course we have been to, almost half the people in the restaurants are wearing hats. It’s just part of the atmosphere. Thanks for watching our videos! We appreciate the support!
@@pattiebravata7462 thankfully we live in a free country where we are allowed to wear a cap whenever and wherever we feel like it, with all due respect...Cheers!
@@thealtemlife the villages is a scam and they’re duping all the residents of the villages. The cost to put a food business in villages is ridiculous. They want all the control. I’ve talked with business owners in the villages…it’s a crime what they do to them
What was the "Havana Chips" on the receipt? Don't tell me he charged you for the appetizer that you made it sound like the manager was giving it to you for free. Being charged for something you didn't order is unacceptable.
We were the table next to yours!! Loved the review and can’t wait to hear more 🤗
Awesome! Thanks for saying something to us and we hope you enjoyed your time there. We really did!
Thank you so much for coming out !
You are welcome! It was great!
Havana is my favorite. The view out the back, of the golf course is great. Love it here.
The view sure was nice! A solid spot for sure!
thanks very much have great weekend
Thank you! We hope you had a great weekend!
@thealtemlife it was awesome, thanks again have great week. 👍
Can’t beat a review like that! Looked like a great atmosphere and food.
It was a great spot!

Interesting! Bet it was pretty cool back then! You really don’t see that much any more. This place was good at least!
It is good to hear that REAL service is out there! Thanks for the info 👍
Yeah this was very good service. Haven’t seen it like this in a while but a lot of people were pleased!
Can't wait to go to eat at Havana Country Club when we're back in the villages in October!
It was so good! Would recommend!

I didn’t realize we could make reservations at a country club for dinner during our lifestyle visit. I can’t wait to schedule my lifestyle visit.

Agreed! Management was awesome! Glad you had a great time as well!
Love the Havana Club. We go often. My fav is fish and chips. Glad you enjoyed it. Sitting outside overlooking the golf course is great
Those views are so good! Glad we got to try it out!
We hope to eat there someday soon! Thanks for the video and the review!
It was great! Worth a try for sure!

Makes sense! Luckily, we had no issues and all was great!
The Suleiman Family restaurants are always great about the service. Top notch. If you try nancy Lopez be sure to go on Lobster night. Yummmmm
Yeah we will have to do that sometime! Thank you for letting us know!
Great vid , will have to check the place out when we get there..
It was a great spot! Hope you enjoy it!
Speaking of lobster pizza; in France I had a salmon pizza. An entire salmon steak in a sauce that I can’t remember ( primarily because of the wine)
Oh wow! Bet that was good from what you remember haha!
Looks like a stinking good 👍 dinner 🍽...
It was a great spot! Worth checking out sometime!

That’s too bad. I would guess maybe because it was later. When we went, it was awesome!

Nancy Lopez and Ednas on the Green

Burgers should be cooked well for food safety.
Decent price for 4 people.

The village’s & restaurants in the villages are all a ripoff…sub standard food there and most of Florida. The villages is a ripoff

If you look lower on the receipt, it shows -$10 where they ended up taking it off. We weren’t charged for it. All good!
