Excellent video. Very clear demonstration of the how the device works along with very good explanation. And two things that made this video much better are the clean workbench you work on and more importantly the camera angle and video editing Really good job
Very good question! In a short answer, typically no, the wheel should not get ground down or coarsened with use. The wheel on the honing guide is made of brass and is typically harder than the water stones/grinding stones you would use. Plus, the width of this particular wheel/honing guide is almost as wide as the stone to prevent dishing out of the stone over time. We hope this helps!
@@georgejrgeorgejr Never in the 20 years that we've carried the Veritas Honing Guide have we had anyone have any issues with the wheel. Not even with diamond stones. Our expert, Dave, says it'd take a several hours every day for years on a diamond stone to possibly have some kind of issue with the wheel wearing down or affected. That's great quality! Hope this helps!

Thank you for your compliments! We strive to show any viewer how things work in the best way possible. And we also like a clean shop!
Does the blade extend from the jig enough to allow one to feather the edges of blades, to prevent plane tracks?
Wonderfull video, shows all you need to know. 😊

@@thewoodsmithstore It does, thank you! I've had this issue with the cheap eclipse types
A clear and concise demonstration however you failed to mention the Camber Roller attachment and more importantly the Narrow Chisel attachment.
Thank you! Glad this helps!
Odd you don’t address feathering the edges to prevent plant tracks. But a good basic overview. Best though to learn free hand. Cheers.
Posiadam ten prowadnik. Spisuje się znakomicie. ważne jest równe prowadzenie ostrza.
