Also, have you seen literally any piece of DC media with the Lazarus pit? Almost every time it's used to resurrect someone, they go insane and/or violent. Batman had every right to believe this would happen to Alfred, and I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to see my family become an insane husk of their former self.

Damien turned on his own father in favor of Superman, only for Superman to later arrange Alfred's death by sending Victor Szasz after him. How do you think Damien would have reacted to _that_ particular revelation, that he'd sided with the man who would eventually go on to have *_ALFRED_* of all people killed by a madman? Damien would have either had a mental breakdown and given up on himself entirely, or he would have tried to kill Superman in a vengeance-fueled rage and likely would have just gotten himself killed by Superman in the process. So Bruce not telling Damien the truth about who had Alfred killed was most likely Bruce's way or trying to protect Damien and stop him from getting himself killed.

The protagonist being the least interesting guy in the room is not new, but not common either; in anime it's fairly common. Saitama, Gon, Goku, and most harem protagonists.

There are a lot of problems with how Batman is written here. Batman is unhinged to the point of almost killing his son, he doesn’t use his words. Also, Damian’s line about Batman’s violence on criminals feels like another writer not understanding how crime and the justice system work in cities like Gotham…
They say if you can't imagine your Batman comforting a small child, you're writing him wrong. I would like to propose a corollary to that idea: If you can't imagine your Damian being an egomaniacal sociopath, you're writing him wrong.

Alfred is the father that Bat Family deserves. Bruce, is the one it needs. Maybe on another Earth, Ra’s and Bruce would’ve come to an agreement, and the world would’ve been better for it. The world comes in shades of grey, sometimes, grey is what you need. Not everything is black and white.
