Yeah, I'm really not a fan of the design. I'm not sure how it wasn't a factory recall from Husqvarna. A lot of good saws ruined by air leaks early on from this design.
@@samishsawworks5870 you are right about that! Seems like the newer the saw the cheaper the assembly! I say, why mess with a great workin design! Thanks again! I see you are pushing 700 subs! You should have 70000 ! In my humble opinion....
On that pump pickup hose I always just wrap it with Teflon tape, quite a bit, shove it back in and that does the trick, no cleaning and easy to remove ...that also raises the height of the pickup slightly so that when you screw the pump back on it seals a little tighter
I'm building a 357xp. Your videos have been a tremendous help to me! But, I need to know a little more about the intake partition and the Stihl clamp. I have a new 357 partition.. use that as it comes with the 134 Stihl clamp? Great idea... i wish I could pick your brain in person...
Tell you what. Shoot me an email at samishsawworks@gmail.com and I'll give you my number and we'll have a chat if you'd like. If not, no worries. It's a lot easier to talk over whatsapp or the phone than to type it all out here.
Any "t-bolt" clamp that fits will work over your new factory partition. I believe a 395xp or 372 X-TORQ clamp will fit over the plastic, but I'm not positive. I do mine a little different and cut the plastic off. Then I use a 372xp o.e. clamp or a clamp off a stihl 034/036/038. If you go to the 19:45 mark in this video th-cam.com/video/15_IJPLC1Gc/w-d-xo.html I show how I do mine. Never had any issues. I'm sure there are better ways, but this is fairly simple and you can use your existing intake partition.
@@samishsawworks5870 I ordered a clamp for a 395xp. I'd like to keep the saw as original as possible, but that updated metal clamp is a nightmare! I'll shoot you an e-mail and we'll have a talk someday. Your videos are excellent, and have been extremely helpful to me with this 357! Thanks very much Perhaps in the future you can do a mild port on it??
That clamp hack saves a pile of problems! Enjoying this series! Thanks for sharing buddy!👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏

I don’t understand, but why smear the cylinder gasket with oil? Just wondering, I don't understand what you say in English
Helps it to not stick to the cylinder or cases should it ever need to be removed for some reason later.
