- In this tutorial I show you how to make a four strand kumihimo braid. Please feel free to give it a go yourself and I hope you enjoy.

Very beautiful. I have never seen kumihimo done with just four strands. This opens up a lot of possibilities and can this be done with beads?
Prakash Natarajan Yes, it certainly gives a lot of possibilities. You could try and add beads in. I haven't done so myself, but don't see why not :-)

Cool pattern, I never done a 4 strand before I have to try that, the highest I did is a 10, thinking about trying a 20 strand, endless possiblies

I tried this and I found that it will roll up on to the top of the circle on the round disk. I use a weight and it I try and pull it down carefully it leaves like a bump. What am I doing wrong ?
+Dawn Lagana I'm not quite sure as I can't see what you are doing, but Mine also 'travels' to one side in the centre of the disc, and I just keep gently pulling it back to the centre like you said, but I'm not sure why you are experiencing getting a bump in the braid. Sorry I couldn't be of more help :-)
I'm having the same issue. When it looks right, it's so beautiful though.
You don't need a kumihimo braiding disk to do this one as it's a simple four-strand braid. In fact, I think it's simpler and faster to just secure one end and then plait away. You cross the outer strands over the inner strands and then cross the two (new) inner strands. Repeat until done.
