I've seen multiple videos on how to do these and I think your video has been the best. Straight to the point but also explains little tips and tricks. I made a makeshift weight for now because I didn't have one. I got my loom from my mother who didn't enjoy using it so I'm just starting to play with it. Thank you so much for the video. 💙
I have been searching for a good tutorial for this technique. You are a natural teacher. This was very easy to follow and understand. Thank you for sharing.
I need to learn how to make the ends finished to attach a latch for a bracelet (loop and toggle preferred) or one of several latches for necklace. Also single end for key fob. Beautiful description and explanation of making cord, but still need to know the best way to finish the ends!!
I have never made a bracelet out of a Kumihimo cord. I know you can buy end caps for it. I believe they are glued on. I use a Kumihimo cord to close a Mochila.
Thank you, that was helpful. I'm just wondering what would happen to the pattern if you work in a clockwise direction. Would you have to put the colors in different places when you're setting up?
I have made one cord where I switched directions. The pattern was a spiral. I started with normal order is right down, left up. Turn anti-clockwise. Then I switched to left down, right up and turned clock wise. I am not sure if that could work with all patterns.
@@augustomiazaki5086 For Kumihimo I always start with yarns that are 3 times longer than I want the cord to be. So for a 1 meter long cord, I cut 16 yarns that are all 3 meter long.
They are called bobbins. When you search for Kumihimo bobbin you will find them. I know Amazon sells them, but I think you can also buy them locally in a craft store, or in an online store.
Celtic 2019 When I make a cord for a Mochila, I use the same yarn I crocheted with. That is mercerized cotton yarn, 125 meter per 50 gram. Schachenmayr Catania, Scheepjes Catona, Camilla ice yarn.
Sabrina Milani Bead stores usually sell them. Amazon and Etsy also sell them. Just google for Kumihimo bobbins and you will find websites that sell them.
Your teaching style is so easy to follow. Thank you for this great demonstration!
Kathy Robinson Thank you
Thank you! I’ve been searching for weeks for how to understand the coloured dots that I see on Kumihimo patterns, you explain it so well. ❤

Wonderful Video. Can you buy Patterns to work With?
Barbara Hatherall Thank you
You can find a link to a site with many free patterns in the description of the video.
and how do you finish it? please and thank you
I make a knot in the end. Then I put the cord through the holes in my Mochila and add tassels.
@@MarionVerloop Thank you. It's just that I am a very visual learner and need to see it being done to learn.

So we need 16 kumihimo bobin ? For 16 yarn? And the length 3x length that we need?
16 yarns is the most used thickness for a Mochila cord. When you start with 3 x the length of the length you want to cord to be, you have enough.
What size line did you use?
I am using mercerized cotton yarn, 125 meter per 50 gram. I make the cords as a closure for my Mochila.
@@MarionVerloop thank you very much
@@MarionVerloop but did you use 125 meters in total?

Bonjour
Où pourrais-je trouver les bobines en caoutchouc pour enrouler la laine, svp? Elles ont l'air top.

So I need to look for similar yarn here.
