Hey friend. I am a police officer and a huge Star Wars fan! Love the videos! Unfortunately I have been to calls like this where someone calls and believes it’s a real gun. The orange tape is a good idea. I think if you find out a way to take it out “in context” to where everyone will someone know what it is then you would be okay. Maybe you have to be dressed up while you use it or maybe use it and a lightsaber at the same time. Hope this helps! Keep up the great videos!
Hey bud, thank you so much for the compliment in the thoughtful comment. You’re absolutely right, which is why I have been so cautious and have not taken it outside yet. I didn’t think about context and dressing up, that definitely is a factor, thanks again for your response and your service.
Oh… dressing up in Star Wars garb won’t stop some police! (Google “Lethbridge Police versus Stormtrooper”). Don’t worry… the police officers were cleared of any misconduct after they beat the crap out of the 19 year old female wearing stormtrooper armour… outside a club called the Star Wars Cantina in the afternoon of May the 4th. You can’t make this shit up!
this is so awesome! it always feels so amazing holding a metal lightsaber from star wars, and i bet this feels just as cool. im suprised at how much tech that they were able to put in it too.
Not that it matters much in Star Wars parlance perhaps. But in our world the thing at the end of the barrel is called a flash hider. It expands in size towards the end to allow for the expansion of gases after firing. A muzzle break would have the same diameter as the barrel. What you're calling a clip, is a magazine. A magazine is what holds ammunition. A clip is what hold bullets/ rounds in a small group for loading. There's an American rifle from WW II famous for the sound it made when ejecting the clip after rounds were expended. My apologies for the nitpicking of words. Appreciate your videos. I'm researching which saber is going to be best for my interests. A screen accurate saber I can duel with. This DL-44 is gorgeous!
Hey obi dad I’m a police officer in PA. Depends on the state you live in but it looks like a real gun so just be careful taking it outside. While transporting it I would put it in a box or something in the trunk of your vehicle. Comic cons usually have security at the doors checking to make sure the guns aren’t real, I would use the orange tape as well. As long as your dressed up when your carrying it I don’t think you will have too many issues
Have to agree. If you take it to a Con, you will be stopped and checked at the door. I did that 20-ish years ago at the Valley Forge Convention Center in PA, and had a lot of grief, even though it was a static prop.
Now this is cool! I might get a blaster because of just how cool it is. My lightsaber collection is pretty full rn I think a blaster will do something to change it up.
The Base is an Airsoft Gun. They put the Scope and the Flash Hider on it and sold it for "Han's" Blaster. Im sure, you can still buy them. $ 300 i think. Same Gun, without the Sound and the LED's. But you can shoot 6mm Plastic BB's. Powerful. Hans Blaster in the OT is different in every Movie. The long Scope is only in "A new Hope" and in TFA. In ESB they used a shorter M19 Scope from an WW2 Tank (Sherman?). The Barrel retains his original sleek design and the Flah Hider is silver, without holes. For RotJ, they tried to copy the appearance from the Blaster in ESB. Scope looks similar, but is not the same in Detail. Sleek Barrel and a silver Flash Hider like in ESB. The RotJ Blaster's Scope has a different mount, and Blaster Body has some more "Greeblies" (small Parts, non functional, to improve the Look. The TFA Blaster is, unlike the OT Blasters, based on the newer "Schnellfeuer Mauser". The OT Blaster are based on the first Model of the Mauser, the P96. These older based Models look simply much better. For me, the TFA (and the "Solo", who is the same) are unloved "wanna be's". But this more a personal Opinion.
A competent gunsmith with a machine shop can make you a live fire DL 44 from a C 96 Mauser the investment on the C 96 Mauser will be anywhere between 900 and1500 for one that does not have collector value. I would say that a competent gunsmith is going to charge you about two grand to do the work absolutely worth it
Looks great, but $800 is a lot, and I'd be hit for at least another $200 import duty. I have a replica broom handle Mauser, but I doubt I will ever find the time to turn it into Han's blaster.
Oh man, I've always wanted Hans DL44 blaster! One of the coolest blaster in Star Wars ever! I've also always liked Luke's very similar blaster in Empire. Pretty sure that's originally a German Mauser broom handle they sourced it from. Challenge accepted sir! I've always liked the OT Stormtroopers blaster as well. I'd have to recheck, but from memory, Hans DL44 had the silver tip in Empire and Jedi, but was black tipped in a New Hope. In fact the barrels diameter is much larger in ep4. Luke's similar blaster had the scope more on the side than on top. I'll have to check, I've got a bunch of Star Wars books that go over characters weapons. Bro, this has to stop! My wife is gonna kill me! You've really outdone yourself this time, that blaster is Next Level! I'd put orange tape on it, just to be safe with all the " it looked like a real gun" when a tragedy happens, which is more often than you'd think. Be safe, my friend. 😊
Sometimes hardware store metal pipes have safety orange plastic caps on them. Maybe one of them would fit over the end. That way it's removable and won't leave sticky residue
You can buy the base airsoft gun and the scope/flashhider for 200 bucks at any airsoft place and put it together yourself. You just wont have the sound effects.
Great video. I was so excited when I saw it. The only thing that would have made it better for me was saying 'So uncivilized' instead of 'Hello, there.'
Hey! I subscribed to your channel! My entire life I have always been a huge Star Wars fan. These videos make my day even better. Keep up the amazing work and may the Force be with you! ❤
Yo that is Flippin awesome if I had that I would be geeking out too. Han Solo is one of my favorite characters in the Star Wars universe especially because he is a smuggler and his blaster looks pretty awesome. I like how the real life gun is a repurpose real life weapon that is awesome. That is one of my favorite facts about Star Wars guns how they are repurposed weapons in the real world. I am definitely going to try to get my hands on one of those when I have the money. 15:45
The E-11 aka stormtrooper blaster is a modified British Sterling submachine gun. The side loaded power pack is where the magazine would normally. It was also used in a modified version for the Fleet trooper's DL-17. The pistol used by Jyn Erso is a modified Luger, another German pistol which I think dates back to WW 1. The light repeating blaster is a modified MG 42. I still have the Kenner DL-44. No idea if it still works.
That's very awesome obi-dad though the "pew pew" was a bit weird not gonna lie it would have been cool if the blaster had a stormtrooper sound font as well but other than that very awesome 🐉
That’s a good question bud, likely I don’t think so because the chassis probably has very complicated button systems, which work with precise buttons on particular Sabers. 👍🏻
There is actually, the Luke blaster has a bright silver tip, and the scope is small and kind of chunky on the side. I think he’s famous for showing it off on dagobah looking for Yoda. 👍🏻

Hello my friend, even though this is a WW2 style toy gun essentially.. because it is metal and there are people who would freak out and think it is real, it might not be a bad idea to put orange tape on it … or just make it blatantly obvious that you are playing star Wars . Just don’t go pointing it at people you don’t know . On another note… it is a very cool blaster but $800….. yikes!! My legit duty handgun which shoots real bullets is a couple hundred less than that! I just cant see how someone could justify that price . I would love to have one of those blasters but not for that price.
Hey Rico, thank you so much for the suggestion. It definitely has me sweating at the idea of taking it outside. Lol that is super funny, I didn’t think about comparing the prices of actual firearms. Ha ha 😆
A dream for all Start War's fans. However, my wife would throw me to the Bantas if I bought Hans Blaster for $800. Is there a company that makes replicas for fewer imperial credits?
I thought I was a super fan but evidently not.. when has a blaster made a “cooling down or reloading sound”? Or at least that very sound.. I don’t feel like it fits with the piece
I think i heard your in California they are one of the most strict states for gun laws so you may want to contact your local authorities to ask them this question.
Now I should practice my blaster/saber stance! 😉👍🏻

You did the corrections before I could, very good teaching!
That's easily the most Kick-Ass blaster I have ever seen! That would be worth every single nickel that is being charged for it.
Thanks a lot Dave, really appreciate you saying that. May the force be with you!
