Parenting never ends. My daughter is 20 and currently at the UWI campus and just last week she called me and woke me up out of my sleep at 1am crying because she felt stressed out and I had to be a mom and do what mother does. Even myself, as soon as I get overwhelmed about anything, the first person o call is my mother.
Great talk, Cushane. Agree with you 1000%. Parenting is definitely not easy. I wish people would understand that everyone has different parenting styles - and the biggest thing, everyone was RAISED different. How you were raised, shapes everything about you and in turn effects the way you will parent. I’m a 35yr old, mother of 2, and everyday I’m learning that I AM my mother. In a lot of areas, it’s great, but in some areas not so much (especially from a Jamaican mother). The love was shown differently, and everyday I’m trying my hardest to do better in that area with my own kids. It’s hard when it’s all that you know. One thing about our “millennial” generation, we acknowledge our mistakes and shortcomings, and our generation is not afraid to get help to correct them. From what I can see, you are an amazing daddy. It’s always your goal to do right by your kids, and I love that. You inspire - keep it up!❤
Mr. Carter just listening to you warms my heart. You and Mrs. Carter are doing an excellent job. Parenting is definitely not easy and I was a single mom but I did the very best I could. I use to be scared to mess up in making sure I raise my sons right. Thanks be to God they are exceptional young men. Keep going Carter your best is good enough❣️❣️❣️❣️

I never had my dad in my life ,my mom was both parents for her four kids,she was mommy and daddy.i am a mother of son who is now 28 years young and.i am tell you.i did my best for him, and he is now all grown and he is one of the most disrespectful person .i never raised him like that he never saw .i cuss my mom or one day ever disrespect my mother. Like what they said, it all start from home and how you grew your kids. That is not true. We could take them to church sunday to sunday, and whenever they became adults, they chose whatever road, whenever we are guiding them they're like .i am a big manl or woman now you can't speaks to them.
Yes a parent stays to the end And different cultures hv challenges cause most of the Caribbean we hold on to our kids so 18 yrs and they home still a true parent job never don ❤.i love this topic Cmr you and crissy are excellent parents.
I understand exactly what you mean. We all want the best for our kids and unfortunately there is no rule book to parenting, we learn and grow as parents but we do the best we can along the way. I think you and Crissy are amazing parents and I have no doubts that your children will grow to be prosperous people and do great things to contribute to society. Pat yourselves on the back because parenting is the hardest and most vulnerable job in this world. Continue to give them the proper tools to navigate life and God will guide you to guide them!
