What resin were you using before? The smells vary a lot from resin to resin. I've used some really stinky ones. Now I use sunlu abs like resin. My printer lives in one of the corners of our apartment. You can sort of smell the resin when you have the printer open but honestly you can't smell it at all when the lid is on. I have a Saturn S. But it's pretty subjective
@@justintime5021 honestly i am not sure now. i always thought it was more about VOCs being very bad for lungs and potentially carcinogenic. so not just about the smell and any exposure was to be avoided. but i also had this deep deep dislike for it and the smell took forever to go away if anything anywhere was uncured. anyways my paranoia around the fumes turned me off the hobby and when i saw this video it seemed to be less of a problem now. so is no one wearing respirators with current resin?

Your printer got a crack in the front of the cover exactly on the same position i saw a few other ones...seems to be a weak spot in the production.
Only reason I went for the ultra was the drip tray- among all the other auto detect features.
The drip tray is hard to clean because it says Elegoo across it... so stupid.
Someone knows the settings for Elegoo Water Washable Ceramic Grey? I Bought Saturn 4 and can't print anything. It looks like it is working but after 3 hours of working, nothing appears in the bed. So weird.
Please help, I am a little desperated.
What do you do with all these test prints you make for these videos?? You've gotta have soooooo many at this point
I'm out of the loop for a while and my very old printer resin was pretty nasty and needed a respirator. is that not an issue anymore with current resin?
Surprised it is still using PFA instead of ACF to get the faster speeds! And we are still missing all the features that were promised for the original Jupiter during the Kickstarter campaign and the wash and cure to take Jupiter sized prints as they kept promising!
I would seriously love a bigger wash and cure from elegoo. I think they ditched acf after all of the backlash last year. I believe fauxhammer has a videos doing print compares
Not still. Again. They deliberately moved away from ACF for the Saturn 4 series.
Ahhh I didn't get to join the Saturn 3 crew :( I didn't realise they'd used ACF and come back away from it! This 4 Ultra is so tempting but I don't need another printer! 🙈 Nor have the space for
I think it is time we go twice vat the size... with double interlocking plates, built-in heaters, fans and an automatic refill (outside) system. And wing folding doors. for 800
The heck are double interlocking plates? Why not 1 big one? Really like all of these suggestions
@@UncleJessy easier to move, store, clean etc. just an idea i head in my head
id love to get an ultra to start my journey in printing.. but I will probably never get into it like I wanted
I got the original saturn like RIGHT as it came out, it was indeed $500. I gought another about a year and half later, it was down to $250.
I got fed up with my fdm printer so i pre ordered the saturn 4 ultra. I’m still keeping the ender 5 pro for bigger, non complex prints, but i’m looking forward to fiddle with this machine.
You should take the cost into account too, resin is WAY MORE expensive than filament. For bigger prints that won't need very fine details I would stick to FDM.
Is amazing how much the price has come down on these printers. While I don't have any plans to get a 4/4 ultra, as I am not a fan of some of the changes that they made, I am looking forward to what they do with the Saturn V. Also if they don't do a tribute version or the ultra version in classic NASA paint scheme I will be very disappointed.
About that handle... don't you have a 3D printer you could maybe print a handle with? 😆
Wow, as a Saturn S user, this seems like such a massive upgrade
As a mars 3 pro user this is a colossal upgrade lol
Not into resin printers yet, but I’d want the ultra with the green lid. Looks so much cooler
What happens if you update the Saturn 4 with the Saturn 4 ultras firmware? Will you get the better interface?
No that's not how that works lol
Why do we need heaters??
Should have put the green cover on the ultra looks way better.
😂🤣 I so want to do that but I figure it would end up confusing people when I make videos. I want a PURPLE cover!
I’m still waiting for my Saturn 4 ultra got a spot right next to my 3 ultra.
I have the OG Elegoo Mars with the RGB screen. It might be time to upgrade.
Drip tray STL???
It really sucks they didn't put the exposure finder tool on both printers. A real shame
We have a Phrozen Transform, but every use requires a saving throw...these two printers are soooo tempting...
I have the ultra but I like the coloring of the regular more.
Man, this is great but I'm still waiting for an update on the modularity of the OG Jupiter. If anyone can nudge them in that direction, its you man. Great content as always
I was in love when I first saw the Saturn 4 Ultra for the camera and the ia, but I ended preordering the Mono M7 Pro!
First I'd like to thank my wife for letting me take up space all over the house. Surprise surprise, I'm bringing another printer home 😅 even if she don't know yet.
Second I'm sold on upgrading from my Mars 2 Pro! Ordering during my lunch
How about 3d printing a drip tray
I asked them for firmware with the RERF functionality weeks ago already =/ It's such a nice feature to have
I'm actually devastated to find out that exposure tool hasn't been implemented here 💀
I preordered the ultra around a month ago. I'm hoping it comes in soon!
And here I am with an original Saturn that I bought for $200, 2 years ago, still sitting in the box.
Twinsies.
Can't get myself to set up the infrastructure for resin. 2 printers and a wash/cure station. NIB.
Saturn 4Ultra looks like my next 3D printer!
Time to upgrade from my original Saturn. Great video mate.
Honestly, the Saturn 3 Ultra is better in many ways to the S4U. I have both, and had the original Saturn, too. S4U has pain points he isn't covering, trust me.
the new bed design is a giant PIA to clean and the absence of an integrated heater are a no go for me....waiting the Saturn 5 maybe they manage to put all the essential in a printer
Good review!!! Thank you!!! 💯
Man i really want that saturn 4 ultra.... Unfortunately (or fortunately i guess) my saturn s still works like a champ. I have no complaints... And i have no need or room for a second printer
So many new printers coming every year. What happend to all the models that become outdated that fast and get sold somewhere?
Hi, have you talked about the burns on your face from Resin?
Wow, that's pretty rude. What makes you think they are resin burns? It's probably actually Vitiligo, but I'm sure he doesn't want to discuss it with his audience.
I wanted to see the difference of microscopic detail !!
I’ve never heard of a resin printer before, had to look it up. Looks cool. I’m new to 3D printing, bought myself an X1C w AMS and haven’t looked back, sure is addictive
A heater and auto fill would make it about perfect
They are set a super good price point.
Uncle Jessy, can you solve a lot of reddit disagreements here and say if there is, or is not auto leveling? A lot of people online are saying it's only level assist, and not fully auto level. But Elegoo claims it's fully auto leveling.
Thanks!
0:35 That was almost a resin spilling accident.
this just sold me even more on the Ultra lol
I feel like everyone will want to get a suction cup handle for the lid.
good evening can you make a video about jewelry thanks !!
I see now, the Ultra has the bib because off the gap due to the tilting vat. Makes sense. They should offer it as a separate item though.
Now all we need is a Jupiter Ultra or bigger! I could do with something bigger than a Jupiter tbh.
Give me a small and affordable resin printer to print 1 mini at a time.
Was going to buy the ultra but I hate the flip top lid design ,makes it impossible to fit it in a shelf without a MASSIVE extra overhead space :( Any way of converting it to a normal flip door or take it off depth-wise? :( This is a deal breaker for me otherwise i would have hit order already.
Perhaps if its not too heavy i can lift it off the shelf every time i want to service / use it.
You can make a handle!
@@bebo6750 Its not about it missing a handle, its that i dont have enough vertical space to open the flip top when its sitting on my shelf
@@erikm9768 but you are going to have the same problem with other resin ones, on the others you need to remove it completely
