Wow, I have used inkscape for years, but only doing basic things - announcements for PEG TV station, this is a whole new level and you made it very easy to follow along.
Brilliant! can't wait to look and rest of your videos. Was only trying to find some free software similar to 2D design so downloaded Inkscape and now found you!
YOU ARE BRILLIANT ! I never thought I would ever be designing anything like this , first try and bingo 😆 I'm very tech challenged being an ol' girl but with your instructions being very clear, slow and precise your videos are 100% perfect for us beginners . Thank you and thank you again for taking the time to teach us noobs ❤️
😆, there is a lot of us ol' girls now looking for help in designing as a majority are starting to use cricut and like . Most get stuck in cricut design space which is severely limited but we stay there as we know were tech challenged . Videos like you do help us tremendously and leave many of us smiling ☺️
After creating multiple pages in Inkscape 2, I cannot get all pages or a selected page to be printed directly to the printer, Inkscape only prints page 1. It will not print other pages. However, if I do 'Save As' then select 'PDF' portable document format, it will save "all" of the pages. Do you know how to print from Inkscape and not do a 'Save As' 'PDF'?
I know there was an issue with this problem when Inkscape 1.2 was released, I don't know if it been fixed in 1.2.1 or 1.2.2. If you're not up to the latest release, might be worth up dating just incase.
@@CreateForFree Just did an upgrade to 1.2.2, had the same results as earlier. The PDF will produce pages & Export as PNG produce one large image, but has all pages as one large image. One could select what they wanted and do a copy and place in another image. Then just do the same for the other images. Oh well, will have to wait for more improvements to come. Thanks a lot for your help although. Your site is great, I like t very much. Bill in Van Alstyne, Texas
When using Boolean operators (Union, Difference, etc.) you need select both paths and make sure that both elements are paths and there are no groups. I think when I imported the heart image it was a bitmap image and not a vector so I traced it with the Trace bitmap tool to create a path (if you are not sure if it is a bitmap image, you can change to the nodes tool - a vector path will have nodes around it). You can select each element in turn and click ungroup a couple of times to ensure there are no groups - if you do get multiple bounding boxes then you can union them together. If you think there may be a path effect applied (or just for good measure) you can click on Path - Object to path to convert it into a normal path. If it still doesn't work, you can test if there is a glitch with your file by using the rectangle tool to draw 2 rectangles of different sizes, smallest on top. Select them both and click, Path - Difference, if that doesn't work. open a new document and try again. You can often copy and paste a design from one glitchy document to another to fix the problem.
thanks for showing me the clip group tool. I didn't know it was more versatile than I thought
The clip group tool just applies a clip and a group at the same time. It's kind of a pointer to the more obscure functionality of clips and groups.
@@Gaswafers yeah I didn't know that you could edit and design like the video was showing in clip groups. it's very useful. I didn't notice this before
I think I explained them in more detail in the video below:

They can be really useful.
I love your inkscape tutorials. Easy to follow, well explained. Thank you! :)
Thanks
I'm just getting started with Inkscape. This was an amazing tutorial. Thank you!!
You're very welcome!

Thanks, I was originally attracted by Inkscape price tag. It's pretty good for a free vector graphics editor.
Really nice tutorial, thank you! Just subscribed. 👍

Excellent tutorial - Thanks. I’ve learned a lot from all your videos
Glad to help
beautiful, where did you manage to get the picture with the heart and birds?
I got both the heart and bird outline and the photo of the girl from pixabay.com. How did your image turn out? Good I hope
@@CreateForFree it turned out well, thanks for asking
Very cool!
Thanks
Great tutorial! Thank you!
