@@MichaelAMyers1957 did you go 250 or 450? Either way, how's the suspension been working for you? I'm interested in the 250. Everyone says its stiff, but I'm over 185 lbs with gear.
@LilLefty27 i have a 2023 rmz 250. I'm around 205, so then add gear weight. The suspension was where I needed it to be. So it could possibly just be a tad stiff for you. But it also depends on your speed and track conditions. I'm a back of the pack B rider. And ride midwest tracks. So lots of ruts and breaking bumps. For me, this bike was the first time I've ever bought bike and could go full send at a track and not worry about seeing god if i do a OJ or when hitting big choppy sections. Any other bike the suspension is way too soft for me. Now, from what I understand the valving is set up for the typical 250 sized rider, but either has too much oil, or springs are too stiff. So if it is too stiff for you, it's just a simple oil adjustment or spring change. Nothing major. I was going to do a re valve so it was setup properly for me, but ended up just doing a full race tech gold valve set up. It's great.
@LilLefty27 and as far as power goes, even ar 205 + gear weight, I've never had a issue clearing every jump at tracks I've been to. Even down in Florida sand. The bike has 1hp less than the Honda. BUT. The bike is tailored towards folks who like to ride low in the rpms. It has really really good low/mid power. It does fall on its face in the high rpms. So it's not something you can just hold wide open an rev bomb it like you see folks do on other 250fs.

Doesnt need a new engine package. Also, you don't have to use the couplers either. It literally comes with a plug in wifi box to use the WiGet app to tune it. Spend 20 on a 12v battery and can use the app to tune it. Bur you'll probably cry over the fact that you gotta spend a few bucks on a battery. Also, i bought one anyways. @2uzfe4x43 can't go wrong with a yamaha.. if i were to buy a different brand, it'd be a yamaha no question. I really like my 23 rmz250 though. I will say, though, if you were considering the rmz250, it's tailored towards folks who like to ride low in the rpms. So consider that. If you're someone who likes to rev bomb the bike, the rmz250 isn't for you. I personally like lugging the bike around, so its good for me. It has very very good low/mid range power. I mean you turn the throttle and it just goes. But it does fall flat on its face once at the upper rpm range. Note to, if you buy a suzuki, make sure they give you the plug in wifi box. You can soend 20 and buy a 12v battery to hook up to the bike, so the wifi box has power. Then download the WiGET app and you can tune your ecu a bit. Not fully customizable but you can make noticeable changes. There's pre made mappings or you can do your own.
