Guys, you DO NOT need to activate co pilot. Just open your game with your g7 and then simply turn on your wireless controller with the headset. You get the audio, but you dont get the additional input potential of the wireless controller.
@@skeyzixo you are supposed to have both controllers on the same profile. Turn on the wireless controller after you have opened the game. and then open control center with the wireless controller by hitting the xbox button and set up the audio. you can turn on the mic from there and it will work. i have been using this work around since the series consoles got released
@@thephototechy have a ask what is the faster for the use the triggers ingame triggers dz on 0 and in the nexus app for the fastest response hope you answer me😊
@@maikelstapper4347hey bro so I’ve noticed that calibration of the triggers can vary from controller to controller, my G7 is ever so slightly different to G7se. I keep the minimum to 5 in nexus and max 90 with hair triggers on, it that’s coz I like testing my fingers on the triggers and if I use anything less than 5 minimum, then I get false trigger presses. Also I’m using 5 min in the game settings as well which tbh can be set to 0 as well, I just keep it that way so when I change controllers I don’t have to change that as well. So your preferred trigger settings might be a bit different to mine, you might be able to keep less than 5 minimum in nexus and have no false presses and that’ll give you a better trigger response time compared to mine.
With it being 1000 hrz now do you recommend making any changes to the setting I know you mentioned turning raw mode off but any other suggestions or maybe another setting video coming soon?
I have the latest update but it no longer gives me options to change to 250 500 or 1000 been this way for past months I tried deleting the app but still doesn’t work
@@TT_LIFTS hey bro so the report rate option was removed from Xbox, but setting it on the PC using Nexus will save it on the controller and will give performance boost on Xbox.
You dont need the co-polite mode on for the xbox controller. I have my g7se connected and xbox controller on and connect headset to xbox headset and can hear and chat fine. You dont have to change your settings at all regarding the deadzones with this way
Hey bro your vids are magic helped me massive! I went and bought the g7 and g7se mostly for the response time for xbox, i feel the thumbsticks are a bit light is there anyway to tighten them or is there another controller with similar response time with stiffer thumbsticks do you know?
Hey so response wise the Gambit would match the G7 and has Favorunion sticks, I recently covered the internal of the sticks in my Ksilver sticks video. Gambit will have a built in deadzoe of around 5% and that can be an issue. For me a true 0 deadzone is must from now on, as I've encountered a bug in MW3 multiplayer, video coming on it soon. So personally I'm only using the G7se, EswapX, Stealth Ultra. I've just started uing the Razer Wolverine Chroma V2 for its review but don't think it'll make it for my daily. If you wish to add resistance you can try precision rings, I use them every now and then to get used to new controller feel. I personally prefer quick initial movement but don't like the tension fall of towards the edges, so precision rings can help in getting used to a controller.
@@thephototechy yeh bro i was looking at precision rings i think i might try them ive also leaned more towards the g7se it feels better for aiming i have good aim just a little tension would be nice ill try the rings
Hi mate.. ive been using the original xbox controller without the copilot or there is something that im missing? And my second question is that i use the g7 mainly for racing games there is something that i can tweak for racing? What are you recommendations?. Love your vids super clean and concise ❤
Hey man so Co pilot is a solution for when you use 1000hz on G7 and G7se as they lose headphone jack capability. Having another controller in copilot will allow you to have audio from a spare controller whilst using the 1000hz as well. For racing I’m not sure if the game is applying a minimum deadzone and if it does you’ll definitely need to disable the deadzones in the nexus software. When I use to play racing games I had this habit of pushing the left stick all the way forward and then turn right or left on the actual thumbstick gate, helped me not pushing the stick and letting go, if you wish to do the same then raw mode might help as well.
Yeah I don’t think you need to turn on copilot necessarily. I have headphone plugged into my original Xbox controller and still have audio/mic working fine while using the g7SE in 1000hz. One thing that might happen is you have to move the thumb stick every 10 minutes or so to keep the controller from auto turning off. Guess co pilot probably fixes that but if you have stick drift then you don’t have to worry about that.
You deserve x100 the amount of subscribers you have sir! After getting stuck drift on 3 Microsoft controllers in a span of 3 months- I’m about to get this controller in 20minutes! Thank you for the videos!
while updating the previous firmware my controller was plugged to the rear usb slots in my pc, the controller became undetectable and stopped working . controller only works in the front panel now. im scared to update it now
Hi mate I forgot I believe on one of your videos you mentioned you bought some replacement sticks for the controller I'm after some myself could you let me know what I should be looking for I'm guessing it's a certain type that fits. Also do you have to enable co pilot to get the 1000hz ? Thanks 😊
Hey so any Xbox replacement thumbstick top works, I bought the cheapest one so could find and they fit the shaft of the module easily. The Xbox replacement ones will need calibration once installed and they bring the resolution down a bit, but will make the controller feel more responsive. Co pilot is a way to get audio from the different controller as 1000hz disables the headphone jack, so if you have another audio solution like a wireless headset or a usb one, then Co pilot is not needed. Someone also mentioned remote play as well that can give audio through the phone.
@@thephototechyhi mate could you tell me which ones you ordered I'm looking through at the moment can't find out what the bottom of them are like to see if they fit 🤣 thanks

I've just stumbled across a Reddit post from someone saying that he uses them in his SE controller and they work perfectly for him so I'll give em a try and let you know tommorow when they arrive
Hey, have you used the Xbox app from phone or PC to stream that audio instead of co pilot? I do that and was good enough to play games and without modifying anything
Yeah this sounds amazing, i just ordered the G7 SE and some wired IEM earphones. Do you guys have any updates about the lag when using the sound thru the Xbox app? Thanks
The audio issues doesn't suit me since I'm using a Bluetooth headset Steelseries 9x. Got this controller since December and I'm amazed on how it performs. Been using the Skull & Co analog grips, they're a must!
Hey what you are describing is something like I mentioned in my first 1000hz video, where the stick would get stuck out instead of being centre, even when it’s centred. Disabling deadzones on gamesir nexus to 0 minimum solved the issue for me. Also try a manual calibration as well.
@@hapticwarframe5730 hey so in nexus software with in each profile we have the sticks tab. As standard it’ll bet set to 10 minimum and 100 max, change the minimum to 0 and leave max at 100. If you encounter drift at rest then use in game minimum deadzone settings. I’ve always advised to keep the nexus deadzones to 0 and use in game deadzones if necessary.
hi, does your stick become faulty in 1000hz? most of the time the stick position not return to middle axis even tho physically the stick is back in middle, idk how to say this, like digitally? the position is not returning to middle axis and stuck, i can send a pictures or videos of it in gamepad tester if you want, but the problem don't exist in 500 and 250.
Hey I know what you mean, I had this after the first 1000hz update in December. I was able to fix it by disabling minimum deadzones in nexus to 0, that’s how I’ve always used the controller. Anytime there were minimum deadzones applied I could see the stick getting stuck and only returning after a button press or movement of the stick.
it it still happen to your stick with current firmware? i just tried disabling the minimum deadzones to 0, also tried normal and raw mode, but sadly it still happening, do you have any idea what cause this problem?@@thephototechy
@@ekofranco4533 hey so I’m playing on Xbox and mw3 has a test for stick deadzone and it shows movement as well, I can’t see it happening at all to mine. This shouldn’t be happening at all, does it happen during gaming as well?
hi, so i did all you recommended and still happening, and yes it also happened in-game, i also asked around in the discord and someguy said the 1000hz is buggy in windows 10 and works better in w11, i guess im unlucky@@thephototechy
Bro Gambit has some of the best sticks but there are some built in deadzones. I personally thing Gambit works best with 2 back buttons attachment as the 4 back buttons can be a bit difficult to use properly. Triggers hands down Gambit wins for sure, but they have to be adjusted properly. Aiming wise I’d say G7se will have the edge in 1000hz on Xbox, in 250hz G7se would definitely not be as responsive as the Gambit. I haven’t tried these on the pc, and Gambit can be overclocked to 500hz though manual overclocking method, where G7se will give you 500hz on windows10 and 1000hz on windows11. I just made a video on Ksilver modules where I showed the Gambit modules as well. Personally I’d go with the G7se, but only if 1000hz is available. Also G7se will give you the ability to play with the centre point of the sticks, and even use Xbox replacement ones from scuf, doing this changes the response a bit as well. I’d say if you can get a really good deal on the Gambit then it makes sense as its a solid controller, specially if you play with in game deadzones of around 4% as the Gambit has those built in, so you just disable your in game to 0. The BFG for Xbox just been released and I want to check it out, but I’m a bit hesitant getting it coz of 125hz poling rate. Currently I buy the controllers that I can use and make reviews so not sure on that one.
Thank you so much for the answer. I totally agree with you. Do you think Gamesir will come up with a solution so that you can use headsets even when playing with 1000hz? I'm also interested in checking out BFG, but with a polling rate of 125hz, I'm also hesitant@@thephototechy
im typically used to the elite 2 4 buttons for my gaming but im looking for a replacement. i saw the fusion pro 3. are you able to map LS and RS to the back buttons? and would getting both G7 controllers be a better option and just sacrificing the extra two buttons?
Hey man so yes FP3 can have LS click and RS click mapped to rear, but unlike elite you won’t be able to disable the stick buttons in the accessories app. I do really like the FP3 for its in hand feel, but aiming wise it’ll feel a bit hyper responsive and twitchy, I do use higher than usual deadzones of 6-7% on FP3 personally. Sacrificing 2 extra back buttons really depends on you, if you think you can perform with just 2 back buttons, then I’d say G7 and G7se in 1000hz do feel really special to aim with. But not having the 1000hz is not a huge deal. I’ve been working on a video of Elite S2 vs Stealth ultra and every time I start using the elite, it frustrates me so much, coz the sticks slop feels the worst on my series 2 compared to any other controller in my collection. But checking Amazon showed more than 2000 units sold combined of elite and core in the last month so a lot of people love that controller. I’m honestly thinking of having standard Xbox modules installed in mine so I can use the controller. Another thing is the audio on elite is the best in my experience, it’s something other controllers can’t match even the stealth ultra. Do you have any issues with stick slop on your elite? Mine has the slop and a very distinct wall with the slop which kinda feels awkward to quickly move the stick.
@@thephototechy first off THANK YOU SO MUCH I NEEDED TO KNOW THIS!! besides that yes i do experience the slop on the elite sticks i didn’t really think about it until i heard you bring it up. i do feel it messes with the aim because theres just alot of dead slop before the actual registering if the stick movement 🤔🤔 i think the elite has run its course and its time they revise it very soon.
i will be trying to play with my elite with only two paddles to see if i can do it😓😓 do you think moving over to the FP3 will be a significant improvement over the elite?
@@thephototechyi really appreciate your reply due to the fact i could NOT get the info anywhere else. im already subscribed but i just tried to sub again😭 i love the quality on your videos and the quite personal view you give in terms of the feel of controllers in fps games helps me a lot! you and gamerheaven are my top 2 controllers reviewers rn!
Hey for the standard gamesir sticks you’ll need ps4/ps5 ones, or you could get a replacement plastic Xbox stick and calibrate with it to use xbox ones. Using the Xbox sticks will make the controller a bit more responsive as it reduces the active area a bit.
Hi, I've seen some people saying the G7SE has an outer-edge deadzone (i.e stick maxing out on tests while the physical stick still hasnt touched the edge) can you confirm whether or not this is true? would this be a controller issue or a calibration issue if it isn't a deadzone.
Hey so any controller which gives a perfect circular score and some that mimics a raw output actually have a outer max deadzone. Another thing you’ll find, any controller that give you an option to alter the response curve at all will have an outer max deadzone. A standard controller and some third party controllers chose to have a raw linear output, with the physical thumbstick gate serving as an outer deadzone, this makes for that hybrid circle square shape in circularity tests. Gamesir have a circular output and a raw mode which mimics that raw output of a standard controller, but it’s still based on a outer max deadzone. One is not better than the other, as there are other factors at play as well like resolution and adjustment of the curve. I’ll make a video on this soon covering different controllers.
@@thephototechy ah gotcha, I generally understood what you mean. But I'm concerned with one post on r/controllers where the physical stick is moved 90% to the edge of the faceplate/gate but his gamepad tester is already at 100% (moving the stick further to touch the thumbstick gate doesnt add to the distance/still at 100%), a comment even added that it was the norm for the controller unfortunately. the title of the post if you're curious is "Gamesir g7 se external deadzone bug". My English isn't the best so I couldnt explain it well (video in the post might help) and you cant send links on yt comments. this one issue/bug is the only thing stopping me from purchasing the g7se to be completely honest. By the way, thank you so much for the elaborate answer on my previous question.
@@june3149 hey so try this, use any controller you have and you’ll find reaching the 100% before you actually hit the physical thumbstick gate. This is something in place so a stick can always reach 100%, controllers with raw output have a lower outer dead space than the ones with an outer deadzone. G7se and even the normal G7 will feel like having a slightly more dead space than a standard controller, but this won’t affect performance at all, in fact to me personally I’ve found reducing the max deadzone in game helps a lot on all HE sticks I’ve tried. HE sticks will feel slightly sluggish and I do believe need to be lower resolution to feel quick enough.
@@thephototechy Ok thanks alot for this. testing it out on my heavily modded DS4 I used for pc, the stick input (on gamepad tester) hits the edge (horizontal) as the stick itself hits the gate while diagonals hit the game pad tester edge before the stick hits the gate (therefor going over the circle in gamepad tester if I try to reach the gate edge).
MW3 update in March seems to have stopped copilot working. Can’t get past the “press A to start” start screen. If you equip it when in game it stops inputs from registering. Still works in other games so they have either put in something to stop it or not implemented it?
@@thephototechy do you know how to hard reset/factory reset the g7 se? I calibrate it to see if it would help my aim and it got worse, i calibrated it 3 times now and it feels off how can i get it back to how it was?
I used the OG g7 for a while then tried the g7 se and maan i can tell something feels off, the g7 feels responsive and snappier than the g7 se. I love the effort but something isn’t right with the hall effect. g7 i would say for competitive players, faster centering+crosshair response and minor adjustments on the g7 is waaay better.
@@bruhitzcow most people r casual players they won’t notice a difference or they adjust, but switching back and forth it’s more than noticeable. It feels like u have a built in deadzone. The joystick responsiveness takes a second to kick in. I play a lot of apex and warzone and i would never use the g7 se it’s a disadvantage for sure. But the g7 is it for me
Im using the Elite controllers since the beginning and those still feel the best in my hands (the elite 1 being even better than the elite 2, for some reason more easy to accidentally pushing the LB or RB). One thing I love about the Elite (or maybe even on standard xbox controllers, never checked it) is that you can disable stick click, all other third parties dont have that option. Another thing which I noticed is that the audio through this controller just sucked!!!!! Soooo bad that I had to connect the elite controller through cable (so it doesnt turn off) and connect headset on the elite because the sound in chat was terrible, will try how it is in game later because when I heard all kinds of noises I dont want to hear I immediately switched headset to the elite controller, without turning on copilot ;) Is that something you noticed too about the audio?
Hey bro audio can be an issue on third party controller, the best to my ears is from the elite series 2. The stick press disable feature is also available on victrix gambit for Xbox and BFG for Ps5, not sure if Xbox BFG has that too.
Hey so I’ve kept slide only and tap to slide, this feels great to slight cancel. Have you tried using the face buttons instead of back buttons? The reason I asked is on my G7 I got an issue where back button would take a little more force to slide.
@@thephototechy it's just back buttons really and yeh I've gone through so many settings Slide only feels good a few times but every once in a while doesn't do it because it gets delayed, it does my head in, it wasn't just the controller it was for my elite series 2 as well which was one of the worst controllers I've ever used. The GameSir I love the feel and the aim l, just wanna fix the delay I get 😭😭 do u reckon we have to calibrate the back buttons to?
Can you pls do the frane test with normal xbox series controllers (wireless vs wired), so we can see if it does any difference between the two categories. That would also show the response time difference between the 1000hz g7 and a normal series xbox conteoller
Hey yes I’ve done those as well. Going to make a video comparing the 1000hz vs others for sure. Xbox controllers on wireless can show a very quick response of even 7 frames but then the next test showed 11 frames, so very inconsistent wireless, wired was more consistent just like the G7se in 1000hz but not quite like it.
@@Meidey_ hey so my theory is Xbox is handling third party controllers a bit differently, their own controllers can show a good result but not consistently and that’s what the difference is. Even if we take my results for instance, having a difference of 1 frame only means 4.16ms but we as gamers do feel that. Imagine Xbox controllers can do a very quick response of 7 frames but then there is an 11 frame response as well which brings the experience down. Also G7se in 250 Is on the slower side of controllers, many others I tested didn’t show 11 frames at all even though they are only 250hz. Me more thing are the HE sticks as well, G7se has a higher resolution sticks doing .56 level increments, compared to stealth ultra which is doing 1.3 level increment, so it could be the higher resolution at 250hz was a bit slower to respond. This potentially could be the reason I didn’t like the G7se with its first firmware. 1000hz has definitely made the G7se an amazing performer, also don’t forget the G7 either, I’ll be making a video comparing the G7 with the SE in 1000hz coz the normal G7 is performing really well as well. I do hope we can see more and more options with a higher polling rate, as I do believe the consistency is what matters and it seems to be better with higher polling rate.
@@thephototechy well that's a bummer 😕. I will get the g7se very soon but one more question. So to use audio on the 1000hz G7se you need to set up your Xbox controller to co pilot, correct? My Xbox controller has very bad stick drift, I mean terrible stick drift, is there a way to disable an analog Stick? So that it doesn't register at all?
@@Meidey_ that’s an interesting question bro, I’ll have to check the accessories app if we are able to do something like swapping the sticks around, then you can potentially have a larger deadzone for the left stick and if it can be avoided. I’ll let you know tomorrow.
It's so ridiculous to completely loose headphone audio ubless you have another controller available. Xbox should allow USB ports being used as audio in/out, maybe even sell their own dongles. I'd rather buy apple-style dongle cable for USB-to-3.m jack than be without any option
So RAW mode on or off sorry for asking I’m just trying to figure out what is better to use🤔 Also thanks for the content. I hope to see an updated setting video for patch 6.30!

Hey bro so I’ve noticed doing the calibration through software seems to not chose the correct centre point. Have you tried manual calibration method as well?
@@thephototechy yes I have I actually did it finally but I’m still getting 5-6% now on the right side and like less than .01-.002 on the left but it’s really heavy on the right side
@@thephototechy everything was perfect today wit it till i calibrated it early this morning bc it needed to be calibrated badly then it only stayed on the right side
@@TreNance hey so try the method with manual calibration, leave the stick where you register 2% to the right, when it comes to rotating the sticks, rotate the right one first and start by pushing it towards the right for the three circles, remember to do around 3.5 circles on both sticks. This should put it so you have a bit more register on left side.
Hey so the G7 and G7se don’t have audio when we go above 250hz, using another controller in Co pilot allows us to get audio from another controller. The latency for stick input shows an improvement in my tests and definitely when using the controller.
Hey to my knowledge the cap is on the Xbox controllers as tested on pc as well. A lot of third party controllers like Fusion pro 3, victrix gambit, EswapX and others are 250hz as standard. Gamesir have an explanation on their discord under their “talk with ceo” which explains how they’ve achieved it. Also the test meant to show the improvement made to G7se with the 1000hz and the difference is so minimal but there, also the best improvement is consistency, xbox controllers in my test can show 8 frames response as well, but then they’ll also show a 10 frame as well. I’ll be making a video comparing other controllers with the G7se and will show a lot more tests in that video.
Hey Photo Tech love your videos! So I got a pretty broad question. I'm in the market for a new controller right now. Have the elite series 2 But the input delay on my series X is just a little bit too much for me. And I'm really intrigued about potentially getting a controller with hall effect joysticks. Because stick drift seems to be an old friend of mine.😂 And also all I play is call of duty like you! Right now between the Turtle Beach ultra, The G7 SE and and Snakebite Pro without factoring in price which controller would recommend for proformance?
So not gonna lie my G7se is seeing the most game time currently because of the 1000hz, there’s this micro control you get when sniping with it and recoil control. Also the stealth ultra has baked in deadzones which feels a bit larger to me than what snakebyte has, if turtlebeach gave the option for truly removing the deadzones, then I’d say stealth ultra could’ve been the go to, but if you can’t go without 4 back buttons then stealth would be the only option, just remember the best performance will be wired to the console. I do feel like I paid so much for stealth for features I don’t use like the screen and the wireless, and it seems turtlebeach isn’t catering to the competitive gamer with those built in deadzones. The reason I’ve kept my ultra is due to the strange wonky resolution on my unit, where my down register is .5 times larger than above, really makes is so easy to control vertical recoil 😂. Snakebyte is a solidly built controller but they have gone their own stick shape and height is longer, so kontrolfreeks is not a good option. I like to have the galaxies on every controller so I don’t have to get used to different sticks every time I switch controller. If you are not using kontrolfreeks and you don’t need any Dpad input bound to the back buttons, then snakebyte is an amazing controller, also I think it’s the best claw grip controller for me. My claw days are behind me but every now and then when I want to play claw for the 20 mins I can 😂 I use snakebyte. I think all of these controller are actually amazing, we have to decide which one is the best for our needs. Gamesir is doing a lot of experimental things and I feel like supporting that, it shows with the feature set they’ve given and how one can mess things up a bit changing calibration and stuff. snakebyte is going for a workhorse strong type where it’s basic but works perfectly nothing added and no software to mess it up, it might be the reason the controller feels very responsive as it’s not dealing with different profiles and what not. Turtlebeach on the other hand has gone flashy options with good performance but definitely not the ultimate performance, I honestly hope they make a version without the screen wired only and keep everything else the same but no baked in deadzones, that could be the ultimate controller for us, but the whole anti drift thing with people wanting complete dead centre position on sticks, which can only be achieved with some minimum baked in deadzones.
@@thephototechy Thank you so much for the recomdations! Also I do have to ask if you happen to know. When it comes to input delay. Why is Xbox so far behind PlayStation when it comes to wireless controllers and input delay? I'm just curious if you happen to know. Because a wireless PlayStation 5 controller has about the same input delay as a good wired Xbox controller.
@@dandizon4395 so 500hz is definitely showing to be more consistent on windows 10 but I think having most inputs less than 1ms would be better, that’s just what I’m thinking as I haven’t used it on a pc yet. Hopefully this year expanding to pc as well and will do many more tests. I’d say try using your favourite weapons specially recoil control whilst you jump shot, and when sniping correcting and dragging the scope, these are moments I’ve seen the biggest improvement. I don’t get that resist feeling at all when moving my aim in 1000hz, so try both and see which one feels right. I personally think 1000hz should be better but if the inconsistency is an issue then for windows 10 we only have 500hz.
@@dandizon4395 hey so after the update it didn’t prompt for a calibration and my sticks centre point was still the same. So if you don’t see any change then you won’t need a calibration.

Do you think that at some point GameSir will release an update in which 1000Hz and audio can be used at the same time? or is it something that cannot be achieved? 🤔
Hello I want ask you if want controller for xbox have good thumstick and 4 back button to be good because I bought victrix the back button it’s not good for me and high deadzone on the controller can you help me
So.. someone on Reddit mentioned the script that fixes the slight lag for v. 1.29 or whatever the new one is. I have the script and zip files but not sure how to install it overlay them in. “Windows 11
Hey I got a question is it true you need windows 11 to actually get 1000 hz I seen videos claiming that if you have windows 10 you can’t get the over clock even if you download the script
Hey so on windows 10 there is a driver conversion to xinput coz of the xbox license, and that inserts a higher poll every now and then which them makes it more like a 500hz. But if you use 500hz in nexus then it’s a very consistent result. Gamesir have an explanation on their discord, I do wish they had a workaround for windows 10 as well, but T4k is probably the better choice for windows 10, unless you need xbox compatibility then 500hz is max on G7se.
...what if you were to use your g7 as the co pilot controller or another g7 se controller for the audio they are of the same programing and software perhaps it may work better with the deadzone layouts and compatibility? Juss thinking out loud... the turtle recon xbox controller is a great audio dac compliment for the effective movement of the g7 se hall sticks and 1000hz polling. What do you think thephototechy also great content 🤜🤛
So in my testing the best possible audio on Xbox is from the elite series 2, followed by ROG Raikiri and then EswapX. Every other controller feels like not having the full dynamic range of the audio. Turtlebeach recon in signature sound is ok but when you try it agains even the standard series controller you notice the difference. This is only with epos H6 open headset, if you use a lower impedance headset the difference isn’t that much, but the elite series 2 and Raikiri are like 85% of what the Astro mixamp can do. Having another G7 or SE can be a good solution and I need to check how well it’ll work. Also I’m about to release my audio latency video on Xbox with some shocking results and going forward I’ll be testing audio latency from the controllers,as a lot of people use the headset plugged in their controllers. Thanks for the brilliant idea for testing another controller, I might do that with the Raikiri as it has built in deadzones and a really good audio. You prove what I always say about the comment section, it’s full of ideas and knowledge, once again thanks for sharing bro!
No worries, i had another thought the rig nacon pro compact has dolby atmos natively built in...its a reasonable good price for dobly added is a bonus plug and play. That would be irie experiment. Keep it up! Lets go! 🤜🤛
Hey are you saying you only feel this strange sensation in 1000hz and not in 250hz? I don’t think any electrical interference or any anything like that could be passed to our hands. I’ve never felt like that with any controller I’ve played on but it’s definitely strange if it’s not the shape of the controller with slimmer palm grips, and you might need to adjust your grip a bit.
Hi I've got the steel series pro wired which has the dec2 and currently using the stealth ultra controller is there any negatives on the response with this set up?
Hey man so I gamedac gen 2 is an amazing device but unfortunately has the most latency out of all the Xbox audio setups I tried. I’ll show my results in the upcoming video, the issue is with Xbox usb audio and not the device itself. I’d say don’t use Dolby access app at all and windows sonic, only use stereo output which has the least latency but still not what other devices can do.
fantastic work! Ugh I purchaed the Xbox Nova Pro Wired at launch with the Gamedac. I was going to connect it using the back USB port but now Im worried.
Hey the device and headset are absolutely amazing, but Xbox is doing something to usb audio. I couldn’t believe my first test results so had to do the whole thing again, only to find the first results were correct. I’ll say one thing, I’d never would’ve realised the latency issue, if I wasn’t playing back and forth on a PS5 and seriesX. I was trying to get a feel of G7se vs edge so did the setup where the gamedac was connected to both so I didn’t have to change headset every time. Whilst playing I joked with my brother about feeling sound giving more hints on PS5 vs seriesx, that’s what made me do the tests and honestly was shocked at the results. I’ve since then changed some stuff on my Xbox setup and it’s truly made a huge difference for me.
@@thephototechy for PS5 I have the Audeze Maxwell, incredible headphones for single player games. I highly recommend but perhaps not the best for competitive multi. You should do a review, I would like to hear your thoughts.
@@thephototechyI’d be interested as to what you’ve changed on your Xbox to help the issue. I use a steelseries Arctis 1 wireless headset on xbox and ps5 and I’ve always noticed significantly more audio latency on the xbox, so it’s definitely an issue with the console and not the device
@@trviis hey I’ve made a video showing my results of testing different devices on Xbox. Yes Xbox seems to add a lot of latency to usb audio, the best possible results I got was with Xbox wireless built in or the optical extractor. You can check the video if you are interested, I do share some numbers as well on how bad the latency is. Honestly most people wouldn’t notice it as the highest delay was around 160ms but some like yourselves will notice it.
Hey I have a video planned on the Ksilver jh16. They are definitely looser than alps and the favorunion sticks, but very consistent feeling all the way to the edge. I’ll be sharing some more thoughts and my experience in detail in my video.
Hey so my test results showed 500hz just like the 1000hz, but honestly playing and using the controller I much prefer the 1000hz for sure. I even played back and forth on a Ps5 with dualsense edge which is a 1000hz as standard, and found the G7se to be on par or even better at times than edge. 500hz didn’t feel too different to me at all, that micro adjustment I mentioned where I could correct the aim when scoping in, just didn’t feel like the 1000hz. But the test results in 500hz never showed a 10th frame response like the 250hz did.
Hey raw mode is still more snappier as the inputs register are a bit higher at every level. So if you controller sticks are loose like mine where I have 2-3% register at rest with raw mode off and 3-5% register with raw mode on, then keeping it off would give us the ability to run lower minimum deadzones. So we need to balance things out where we feel truly connected to the aim, so let’s say my screen setup and play style mean I need a 2% deadzone with raw mode off to get that perfect aim feel and not floaty, for you it’ll be a little different. I did had to try and find my sensitivity again on the controller after the 1000hz update. Definitely play around with both but I’d recommend try raw off with a lower minimum deadzone as well, coz prior to the 1000hz I felt the sticks needed a lot more input to feel snappier, hence raw mode worked. Hope this helps.
Hey bro i tried looking for this, i just got the controller a day ago, but when i did 1000hz the controller would mess up my spotify, like the left joystick would pause/skip my songs and the little = menu button would take dozens of screenshots on steam, i cant find a fix and the xbox accessories app doesn’t have any updates. I hope i didn’t get some faulty controller because so far its been real nice
Hey I was thinking the same thing and haven’t found anything in the web yet. That script doesn’t do anything on windows 10 at all. Still I’d say use the 1000hz as most of the inputs are under 1ms.
Hey I’ve made a couple of videos on manual calibration, I do feel manual calibration works better for my unit, specially when it sines to choosing a centre point for the sticks. What setup are you trying to do?
Hey yes that’s what I did, I got a cheap replacement sticks pack from Amazon, installed them and calibrated the controller. One thing to make sure is to chose the correct centre point of the sticks when doing the calibration, I have a video on that named “G7se stick drift fix”. Gamesir has honestly given us some amazing options with their products.
Hey yes you can that’s exactly what I’ve done with Xbox replacement thumbsticks. Once you install them just have to recalibrate the controller, also they do have a wider shaft so it reduces the resolution a bit and make the controller more snappy feeling.
Hey I’d say try the non raw mode, it’ll help you bring the minimum deadzones even lower. I’m using Xbox sticks and that reduces the resolution a bit and increases the response, so now I don’t need raw mode that much. You need to find what makes the aim feel the most connected to you, it could be normal G7se sticks in raw mode or even without it, just see if the aim response is feels super connected as it should.
@@thephototechy thanks man also I see on a Reddit post that someone tested the controller in some sort of testing software where they drew circles and the lines looked messed and he was saying something about raw mode being messed up ? Have you noticed anything bad with this controller
@@Lesoyskrr hey that was when the controller was launched, I made a video about it too, things have changed a lot since then. With the 1000hz you might not even need the raw mode.

Hey so the test I showed in this video I did on PS5 with edge as well and yes it shows same initial response as the G7se, but in some tests the G7se had a faster response as well. Also whilst gaming on PS5 with edge, it’s an amazing experience and a lot better than BFG and Nacon revolution 5 pro.
Hey so for me hall effect sticks feel slightly different, specially that initial movement feels a tad bit slower compared to alps, favorunion & C&K. But now with the 1000hz and our ability to change the stick tops with xbox ones, things have changed for sure, where I'd consider the G7se on par with thrustmaster EswapX/S. The only difference is the lose tension but I think thats on purpose due to that slower initial response, just my theory. If a 4 back button controller from Gamesir comes out with 1000hz and licensed for xbox, it'll for sure become my main controller. Right now I do find myself using the EswapX and Turtlebeach stealth ultra at times just for the 4 back buttons, but yes I do think G7se in 1000hz is definitely standing with the top controllers for aiming on xbox.
Hey windows 10 that’s the best we got as there is a driver conversion that happens. Windows 11 they have a script that can give full 1000hz. I only play on Xbox so can’t say what that’s like.
Guys, you DO NOT need to activate co pilot. Just open your game with your g7 and then simply turn on your wireless controller with the headset. You get the audio, but you dont get the additional input potential of the wireless controller.

@@Jinkle ?

Hi mate.. ive been using the original xbox controller without the copilot or there is something that im missing?
Still don't really understand the difference between raw mode and regular for the sticks.
Same
I realy hope that future gamesir controllers will support 1000hz while using a headset.
one thing to note done is, you having the deadzone of you right stick at 3 would have def had an impact on the test you just did i would say

How would you rank Victrix Gambit vs Gamesir G7 SE for warzone, which one do you think is the best and which one do you prefer?
Currently I buy the controllers that I can use and make reviews so not sure on that one.

im typically used to the elite 2 4 buttons for my gaming but im looking for a replacement. i saw the fusion pro 3. are you able to map LS and RS to the back buttons? and would getting both G7 controllers be a better option and just sacrificing the extra two buttons?

Hey for the standard gamesir sticks you’ll need ps4/ps5 ones, or you could get a replacement plastic Xbox stick and calibrate with it to use xbox ones. Using the Xbox sticks will make the controller a bit more responsive as it reduces the active area a bit.
@@thephototechy Thank you for the swift response.
But I'm concerned with one post on r/controllers where the physical stick is moved 90% to the edge of the faceplate/gate but his gamepad tester is already at 100% (moving the stick further to touch the thumbstick gate doesnt add to the distance/still at 100%), a comment even added that it was the norm for the controller unfortunately.

this one issue/bug is the only thing stopping me from purchasing the g7se to be completely honest.

One thing I love about the Elite (or maybe even on standard xbox controllers, never checked it) is that you can disable stick click, all other third parties dont have that option.
Another thing which I noticed is that the audio through this controller just sucked!!!!! Soooo bad that I had to connect the elite controller through cable (so it doesnt turn off) and connect headset on the elite because the sound in chat was terrible, will try how it is in game later because when I heard all kinds of noises I dont want to hear I immediately switched headset to the elite controller, without turning on copilot ;)

@@thephototechy given the fact that Xbox controller have a polling rate of 125hz, how does it have same result of 7 frames?
@@Meidey_ hey so my theory is Xbox is handling third party controllers a bit differently, their own controllers can show a good result but not consistently and that’s what the difference is. Even if we take my results for instance, having a difference of 1 frame only means 4.16ms but we as gamers do feel that. Imagine Xbox controllers can do a very quick response of 7 frames but then there is an 11 frame response as well which brings the experience down. Also G7se in 250
Is on the slower side of controllers, many others I tested didn’t show 11 frames at all even though they are only 250hz.
I can’t get more than 500hz, with the 1000hz mode on and the optional script install.
It's so ridiculous to completely loose headphone audio ubless you have another controller available.
Xbox should allow USB ports being used as audio in/out, maybe even sell their own dongles. I'd rather buy apple-style dongle cable for USB-to-3.m jack than be without any option
Bro wait till you see my audio latency video for xbox, we badly need usb audio like PlayStation has.
When I put it back to the low hz my headphone jack still doesn’t work
So RAW mode on or off sorry for asking I’m just trying to figure out what is better to use🤔
Also thanks for the content. I hope to see an updated setting video for patch 6.30!
I calibrated it today and it ended up having drift to the right on my right stick not going to lie I’ve been trying to get it how u did bc I have 8-10 on my right stick I keep trying to find a center point but when I calibrate it it keeps drifting to the right I’ve tried everything
This should put it so you have a bit more register on left side.
i cant update to this version. at 100 % progress appears an error
Wait is this for audio? Or latency. I bought the gamesir cyclone pro and its stuck at 4ms latency
Hey so the G7 and G7se don’t have audio when we go above 250hz, using another controller in Co pilot allows us to get audio from another controller.
The latency for stick input shows an improvement in my tests and definitely when using the controller.
Quick question- I thought the series X had a 125 polling rate cap? So does the G7SE bypass this to utilise the 1000, and if so, how please?
Question I'm playing COD on PC and its saying I have to be on windows 11 for 1000hz to work...so should I keep it on 500hz for it to be consistent?
Also I'm on windows 10 currently and do not want to upgrade just yet
@@thephototechy Another question sorry....Do I need to calibrate also after I overclock it or is it even neccessary?

Keep it up! Lets go! 🤜🤛
My hands hurt using this controller. Is it possible the hz could be causing the hand cramps / arthritis type feeling in my hands? I’m being serious.
It means stop playing and take a break. 😂
Hey are you saying you only feel this strange sensation in 1000hz and not in 250hz? I don’t think any electrical interference or any anything like that could be passed to our hands. I’ve never felt like that with any controller I’ve played on but it’s definitely strange if it’s not the shape of the controller with slimmer palm grips, and you might need to adjust your grip a bit.
hello, interesting controller, is there a way to make this controller work by connecting headphones to the 3.5 jack and using the 1000hz mode?
Can you write or make video what is best settings for G7 SE on game EA FC 24 on xbox. Thanks
Thanks for the info. I'll look forward to the video. Would you advise against the dec2 on the xbox?
Keep up the good work 👍
@@thephototechyHow is the latency and Input lag With Astro a50x ?
fantastic work!

You can check the video if you are interested, I do share some numbers as well on how bad the latency is. Honestly most people wouldn’t notice it as the highest delay was around 160ms but some like yourselves will notice it.
how do the sticks feel compared to a standard xbox controller is it more loose or have more tension in the sticks
Hey I have a video planned on the Ksilver jh16. They are definitely looser than alps and the favorunion sticks, but very consistent feeling all the way to the edge. I’ll be sharing some more thoughts and my experience in detail in my video.

@@thephototechy okay thanks
What would you recommend to use if your using the 1000hz option any suggestions?
Did you try 500hz? Interested to see if it’s closer to 250 or 1000.
Do you think it’s best to turn raw mode on or off with 1000 hz?

Can u upgrade firmware on xbox or do you need a pc?
In 1000hz mode should I be using raw more or circular
Hey I’d say try the non raw mode, it’ll help you bring the minimum deadzones even lower. I’m using Xbox sticks and that reduces the resolution a bit and increases the response, so now I don’t need raw mode that much. You need to find what makes the aim feel the most connected to you, it could be normal G7se sticks in raw mode or even without it, just see if the aim response is feels super connected as it should.

Has the ps5 Edge 1000hz on console too?
Hey so the test I showed in this video I did on PS5 with edge as well and yes it shows same initial response as the G7se, but in some tests the G7se had a faster response as well. Also whilst gaming on PS5 with edge, it’s an amazing experience and a lot better than BFG and Nacon revolution 5 pro.

Yea yes plz check my community post on the update, video will be out very soon.
Soooo.. after all this time would u say that this controller is the best u have ever tried mate??
greetings from spain !!!!
Co pilot doesn't work for me at least not in apex.
My did a test at 1000hz and it still comes out as 500hz
