- What touched me the most, is the love of Jose Rizal to his country and nation...
And maybe I feel special connection with him because he also been in Germany same as me, even walked the same streets, but still his heart was always with Philippines. 🇵🇭
If José Rizal had stayed in Germany, he probably wouldn't have been executed. He was executed because of his works, which were interpreted as encouraging people to fight against Spanish authority and power. In Europe, he was safe but decided to go back in the Philippines, because his heart was full of love and care to his country...
And I'm sure he knew what fate is waiting for him in the Philippines,
However, Rizal chose to go back to the Philippines anyway even though it was dangerous for him. His words was :
"My biggest wish, is the happiness of my country"
He wanted to help fight for changes and independence in his country. His return and subsequent execution really galvanized the people of the Philippines to stand up against Spanish authority in the Philippines. This played a significant role in the Philippines' fight for independence.

I remember, I went to Paris in 2009 then we were lost, most of their streets have “Rue”, so we just kept on looking for our hotel, unexpectedly we’ve found Jose Rizal’s Monument and I felt honoured and emotional at the same time, sadly I lost the photos as my laplop was corrupted before coming here in NZ to live
