What is the best way to prevent weeds long term on driveway lined with trees? Spraying driveway with glyphosate has not killed/harmed trees just worried about imazapyr in rm43?
Thanks for the video and explanation on both of the products. Wasn't sure what was the big difference as far as long lasting and this video helped out. Thanks.
I'm out here in Arizona in North Phoenix and I just bought the RM34 to hose down my entire yard with it. This video took a lot of the wonder out of me. For a while I was thinking I might have bought a janky ass product. Thanks for setting my neurotic mind to ease my good man!
I really like your video it's actually more informative than a lot of other people I like the fact that you specifically said it should work in 3 weeks
I was checking out that RM43 yesterday at my local Tractor Supply. It didn't seem like the employees were very knowledgeable on it. After this video I am going to give it a try. I agree spraying once a year is what I like.
Does the RM43 kill every plant in its path? We need a RELIABLE vegetation killer to use on yard/fence borders, around buildings and porches, etc. Does RM43 do that please? Thank you!
Yes. It Kills everything. It just takes quite a while to see results so often people think it doesn't work well, needs to work it's way into the root system. I always mix it strong ;-).
Rm-18 has diquat which is fast acting.rm-18 only had 18% glyphosphate vs rm-43 which has 43% glyphosphate. The rm-18 kills quicker because of Diquat, rm-13 kills longer because it has 43% glyphosphate.rm 43 doesn't have Diquat. I would mix 2 and may get benefits of both.
Either way 1 or even twice a year is really good! Im in Arizona we have alot of gravel beds this would be perfect. I wonder if this is what our commercial landscapers use.
I have 15 acres and a 40 gallon tractor sprayer , could I use RM43 to kill all the weeds and once there dead I would plow it, would RM43 make it a problem to grow any crops?
It will kill any crops for atleast a year. I have never used it to kill a big around but any place that I spray it nothing grows there the rest of the year I have a few places I sprayed 2 years ago and there is still nothing growing back
How far away from privacy trees along my fence would be safe to spray. My trees are 3 /4 ' off my fence lines. If I spray tight against fence would it run into soil / over enough to harm plants
It depends on how big the trees are the bigger the trees are the safer you will be but it may be to close if the roots go to the fence and if any overspray gets on the plants it will kill them
@@mikemalone6862 I can see it slowly starting work work on my side (I left two chutets in the back up instead of chopping them prior). No new growth on my side of the yard but the towering chutes on the other side of the fence seem to be alive and well (couldn't spray them too much at the angle and them already being on the other side of a 6ft fence). So the fact that nothing new popped up on my side is a positive sign compared to how it was previously
Will either of those kill honey suckle? Thanks for sharing, I'm in the process of finishing off some cleared land but honey suckle just keeps coming back
Not knowing exactly what you are spraying I would go with 5 ounces per gallon if your just spraying normal weeds or grass 4 ounces per gallon should do the job if in direct sunlight
I have used this product for 5 years around all different types of animals including dogs and as long as it has been a few hours or after it's dry on the vegetation you shouldn't have any problems
They say don't spray RM43 on root systems, so this is liable to kill trees? I've only used RM18, so kinda trying to kill vegetation in some thick vine areas but not trying to kill trees. Not sure which to go with for that
Hi - You should not spray RM43 on areas within twice the drip line of a tree that you are fond of. You can read more on the label here: raganandmassey.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/35935-94-84009_2_5gal.pdf If you are looking to kill trees, we recommend Brushtox: raganandmassey.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Brushtox_32oz.pdf. However, if you simply want to take care of weeds around trees, we suggest Compare N Save Weed & Grass Killer: raganandmassey.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/86068-3-84009_16oz-1.pdf
Late reply, but I used rm43 (a GOOD amount) on a tree and after 4 months I have my own update. The leaves came off first and the tree did look dead. Property did get flooded so the tree might not necessarily be dead completely.
I would say the compare and save is the same as rm 43 but it does not have a preventive it is just a plain killer it will kill everything but will take a couple weeks and the dosage is smaller so you get more uses
If it's not wet out or going to rain I use a lighter mixture 8oz/8gal if the calling for any weather I mix heavy at 8oz/5gal but it really depends on what you are trying to get rid of if you are just spraying grass and weeds on a fence line you can mix lighter but for heavy vegetation I would go heavier mixture
@royseubert1299 I did my rocks today in the the front of my house in 6oz to of product to 1 gallon of water. This is the first time I used this product not 100% sure on how it will work but seen a ton of good reviews on it.
I'm in Southern ohio and it works spring to spring on my farm but you have alot warmer weather and a longer growing season in Mississippi thanks for your input
Thank you for your review of our products! We really appreciate customers like you!

Your review helped me make my decision for our property

Good vid. I was familiar with RM43, but not 18. I think I'm going to get some 18 to clear some weeds and grass, and then use 43 for maintenance.
Does the RM43 kill every plant in its path? We need a RELIABLE vegetation killer to use on yard/fence borders, around buildings and porches, etc. Does RM43 do that please? Thank you!

Nice info! Any idea on mixing the 2 so we get the quick kill from the rm18 but also the long term effectiveness of the rm43?
I have thought about mixing them together but with a heavy mixture of RM43 it kills quick enough for what I need it to
Rm-18 has diquat which is fast acting.rm-18 only had 18% glyphosphate vs rm-43 which has 43% glyphosphate. The rm-18 kills quicker because of Diquat, rm-13 kills longer because it has 43% glyphosphate.rm 43 doesn't have Diquat. I would mix 2 and may get benefits of both.
Did I read correctly that you only mix 1 ounce to 1 gallons for normal use?
I live in Mississippi. One Rm43 does well, but will not last from spring to spring for our farm. Takes at least two treatments
Definitely a fan of the RM43 but my luck TS is out, but they have the 18 so I will be giving it a shot thanks for your opinion!! Good vid!👍
I got rm43 off Amazon and received it quite quickly
I was curious of the difference between the RM-43 and the RM-18
I will always buy the RM-43
Thanks for the explanation. 😊
I just picked up some rm 18 . Thanks for ur review it helped me make my decision
Did you MIX BOTH PRODUCTS together with water or use each separately?
Does the RM43 travel through the ground or just control the area that it contacts?
Hi handsome. Thanks for your honesty and rn43 is what I will try.
Either way 1 or even twice a year is really good! Im in Arizona we have alot of gravel beds this would be perfect. I wonder if this is what our commercial landscapers use.
Lol...if they're smart they won't use it bc they won't get repeat visits if it kills for a year. Additionally it's insanely expensive.
Have you found plants that this will not kill such as bull grass bulrush do you know if it will kill bull rush

hello I have a question how much I should mix rm 18 per gallon of water thanks greetings from Dimmitt Texas
Not knowing exactly what you are spraying I would go with 5 ounces per gallon if your just spraying normal weeds or grass 4 ounces per gallon should do the job if in direct sunlight
Can you us the 18 and then us the 43 for quick and long-term care
If you doing alot of spraying it could get expensive that way but I don't believe it would hurt anything
I used the first gallon, it did not convince me, it is not efficient

It takes about 10 days for 43 to start working.
Will this work for posion ivy?
RM43 will kill poison ivy may take a week or two but it will work
Used rm18 ,never killed anything
These 2 products were a waist of time and money. Mixed 6oz per gal in a 4 gal sprayer 24oz total. Never killed anything.
6oz of RM43 to 1 gallon of water. You over diluted the mix.
