They were serving an arrest warrant for a drug dealer due to Brown selling drugs to an informant. If the cops are undercover, releasing their info could compromise their operation or endanger other informants (civilians or law enforcement).
If they are narcs then it is in everyone’s (community residents included) best interest to not recklessly give up their identity just because someone was killed during an operation.
That group of officers on the truck looked like what one would expect to see in a sequel to "A Clockwork Orange."

Right? And they sent less than a half dozen officers (non swat) to apprehend Dylan Roof, knowing he was armed and had just killed 9 people in a church in cold blood. And only one cop nonchalantly approached his drivers side window and talked to him with his gun holstered, while the others behind the car lowered their weapons before he was even in cuffs. I don't care if this guy sold drugs. An unarmed drug dealer with hands on the wheel should not be extrajudiciously executed like a murderer.

The problem with law enforcement is that it consistently recruits some of the most trigger-happy men with no ability to maintain composure. Some of these officers really don’t want to “serve and protect” but instead want to play a real life video game with no responsibility. In other words, they think by being a cop they are above the law and it’s disgusting. I’m not saying all cops are this way, but when there are too many rotten apples that means the tree and the entire orchard needs to be addressed.
And they recruit many of them from the military too, and maybe they have untreated PTSD or other psychological issues. Definitely a recipe for disaster.

It appears to be a S.W.A.T. team arriving at Andrew Brown, Jr.'s home to "serve a warrant." What was the nature of the warrant? Was Andrew Brown, Jr. wanted for committing a mass murder? Was he accused of being an aggressive criminal? Was he a notorious international firearms dealer with a history of being combative with law enforcement? It appears that there were at least 4 - 5 heavily armed S.W.A.T. members in the law enforcement truck approaching the suspect's house, followed by two more vehicles. Don't you think the public would like for MSNBC to report why the law enforcers believed it was necessary to come to Brown's resident with so many officers?

How many officers does it take to serve an arrest warrant. Several armed officers carrying military assault weapons were riding in the back of a pickup truck and two police cars followed. Its apparent that they thought this guy may be armed and dangerous. Their use of excessive force as a result of that assumption. I felt like I was watching a modern day lynching. This is crazy, they could have shot out the tires or something. Why not try to take him alive ... Like WTH !!!

To be fair to the police, it takes a lot of time to edit a video! It should be illegal for the cops to not immediately release the video to an independent third-party investigator. No editing, not one manipulation at all!
