How bankside trees impact the aquatic ecosystem within your fishery.

Bankside trees provide a mature aesthetic that creates a sheltered angling environment which we all prefer to fish in. When we highlight the hinderance of these trees on the aquatic ecosystem, we’re often met with the argument that our management plan destroys that mature feel.
In this video, I list the reasons why we encourage removing shade casting trees. How they impact the ecology from the nitrogen cycle through to potential algae issues.

I bet the majority don’t fully understand it, everything makes so much sense when you can get to grips with how it works, how it’s affected and what it affects! The most valuable lessons that i took from my fishery qualifications!

It’s been a huge battle on my club, we have now removed nearly 70% of the trees around the lakes ready for planting! The club still don’t understand the benefits of spending money on plants. If at some time you get a chance to do a video about Bankside planting and the benefits that would be great.
