why do these reaction channels bring me so much joy? these guys were either running around in diapers or more likely not even born when this music came out and it still impresses-a real testament to Pink Floyd genius
I love the "slight lull" @ 4:58 & all these think all's well.... until Gilmour unleashes on the voice box! Great solo & love the ending as it trails into "Sheep". This one & the "Comf Numb" solos really stand out to me.
One of their live shows I've seen included this tour at Soldier Field in Chicago on Father's Day 1977 of all days. Me and 60,000 of my closest friends got buzzed and jammed out not 40 feet from the stage. The live version had pigs flying across the stadium on wires, shooting lasers out of their eyes. For "Sheep" they shot off fireworks that turned into fluffy little clouds that looked like sheep. Purely a soul-changing experience seeing Floyd live. Cheers....
Uhh. While I do have a Sennheiser Game Z3ro headset? I also have the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 and either will be fine listening to music. Things are not always what they appear to be. Because I can assure you that when anything plays through my Yamaha driven KEF's? I hear everything.
Pink Floyd made a lot of concept albums and Animals is one of their best. Each song is a piece of the puzzle so to truly appreciate it you should listen to it all in the order presented.
@@beccaOC-5634 i know the movie, though i've only seen some clips and didn't know about the towers … they could just hang the album cover outside of the window?
The B side opens on Pigs (Three Different Ones) that Waters composed after reading George Orwell during his search for a piece adjoining Dogs and Sheep. This is the climax of the album, a violent charge against the top of the pyramid, the institutions, the powerful represented by repugnant boars. The caricature of Soviet leaders in (Animal Farm) turns into an allegory of capitalism which devours the world by gobbling up profits. The song is divided into three verses, each parodying three different types of "pigs". If the first is crystalline and attacks globally the financial magnates and the small percentage holding the monopoly of world wealth (Big man, pig man ahah. With your head down in the pig bin, Saying 'keep on digging', Pig stain on your fat chin). The second is more obscure but suggests an implicit rant to "the iron lady" Margaret Thatcher (You fucked up old hag. You like the feel of steel, You’re hot stuff with a hat pin). The last part is a frontal charge against Mary Whitehouse (and not the White House as some believed for a long time), a reactionary and puritanical activist who had gone to war against the decay of youth and the perversions of society (including drugs, sex… and rock 'n' roll). Waters does not mince words and empties his bag (You house proud town mouse, All tight lips and cold feet, Mary you're nearly a treat but you're really a cry), mocking the crusade of the person concerned ( You're trying to keep our feelings off the street, You gotta stem the evil tide, And keep it all on the inside). Unusually, Gilmour holds the bass on this track, Waters taking charge of the rhythm guitar.
SUPRISED that my post was the last one 5 months ago. This album is legendary and historical for the world of rock.. It's not played on the radio like some of the other albums. Because the songs were too long to played on the radio. Go figure! And that's sad if you ask me !!!
@@punkeratthecasbah2114 It is more music related. In short, the dogs are the record companies/managers trying to screw out the artists for money and take advantage of them, the pigs are the artists wanting to be dogs and the sheep are the musicians just doing what they are told pretty much.
Love Tre Narcisse's Pink Floyd reactions. He is one of those Gilmour-a-holics. I don't like Pigs much but..not sure if you have enough for Have A Cigar or Money
Sadly the younger Americans reacting in this clip woke up a bit when the lyrics went "Hey you Whitehouse! HA HA charade you are!" and started commenting on their politics, and were mystified who "Mary" was when mentioned later. Look it up guys! Mary Whitehouse. It's nothing to do with America. Good reaction clip. PF rule!
that's awesome, been listening to floyd since my early teens, and just turned fifty-seven, i've read four or five books on them and have seen many docs. on you tube and never new, mary whitehouse, preciate it.
Well i see you guys did it again..lol Awesome work as usual. I like the way you edited Tre in there as well this time.. Weeboos comment at the end is the best. The song ended but he is still going He dont care I lmao to that when I first heard it . Anyway great job again i always stop in here before I ht the circuit..lol
Wow, you can really tell that's Gilmour on the fretless bass. In an interview, he stated most of their songs he played fretless bass because Waters was always late to recording sessions. He just overlayed the tracks of the recording because Roger was a very basic bass player, no flair and he didn't want to learn either.
The 'Whitehouse' and 'Mary' were references to Mary Whitehouse who had too much influence when it came to what couldn't be seen or said on TV and radio back in the seventies in the UK, Britain's first 'social justice warrior so to speak..
I remember her and her little group of noisy censorious bigoted prigs posing as the nation's moral conscience while instead she was just a punchline to every comedian and her supporters in Westminster covered up the sex crimes of their colleagues.
I know everybody talsk about Framptons Talkbox on Do you feel like we do song .......... But this song.... That talkbox gives me goosebumps, he makes that thing sound big ugly & evil
Am I missing something? I love the concept, but what's the point of a reaction video if I can't hear anyone's reaction? Everyone talking over each other... I want to hear their reactions.
In portuguese: "Filme dos anos 40: OITENTA % das mulheres que foram entrevistadas na porta do Cinema depois do filme iriam para "casa" FAZER SEXO (resposta espontânea e aé "expanCÂNEOSSSS...!!!"). Gilmour coming in with that solo like Godzilla stomping over fucking Japan. Masterpiece.
Soul Train Bro is the best. He actually listens to the lyrics and tries to interpret the meaning of every song he hears.
With flat face

Reliving our youth vicariously through the youngsters I suppose....lol
Angie Westall No Floyd in the hood I guess?
Its because there's people out there that know what great music is thank goodness

Pink Floyd best band ever glad I got the opportunity to grow up on it thanks to my grandpa as a 19 year old my kids will grow up on it as well
I like this format! The ones w/o headphones don't know what they're missing!

Stoner law: no 'phones, no Floyd. Cheers....
this frikkin song........ that middle section........ Its Just INCREDIBLE, the whole song is
I love when South Park referenced this song by having Cartman say "Haha charade you are" in one of their episodes!
Pink Floyd made a lot of concept albums and Animals is one of their best. Each song is a piece of the puzzle so to truly appreciate it you should listen to it all in the order presented.
Always good to see people getting their head taken off by a David Gilmour solo 😂
Weaboo's brain is aching after absorbing so much epicness. Happy accident at 6:16
Love this album and really enjoy watching these community style reaction videos.
This whole album is a testament to the chemistry of pink floyd ! My favorite album ! You all went to school !
The cow bells giving me bars!
LOVE, LOVE seeing people discover various PF songs (brilliant, masterpiece, genius works of art).
"so then i sez, Martha, did you see that giant pig flying over the battersea power station?"

Animals and Echos on meddle. Totally underated ..... Blessed to have seen Floyd several times... Both together and individually... Waters .... Gilmore
Pink flyod is in a class by them selves
pink floyd music needs good headphones :)
This album is an allegory to three types of people in the world.....Dogs....Pigs....Sheep....who are you?
I agree it's a very clever analogy of human behaviour and social conditioning.
Pretty sure the Dogs are politicians, the Pigs authority & media and the sheep are...……….us.
Conservative Grafitti rogers once did covered this they had donaldtrump in backgrounders

Weaboo's reaction to the solo is perfection. Can't find the full video anywhere though.

This song has a great deal to do with America these days!!!
In a Show Roger Waters adressed this song to Trump, because it fits in certain ways..lol

Thanks for doing Pigs!
The cow bell 🔥🔥
What this review needs is..... more cowbell.
The reference to White House, is to Mary Whitehouse, who campaigned against sex, violence, and bad language on TV in the late 20th century.
Soul Train bro is trippin’ dixie
Great channel
They need to have a reaction to Pink Floyd mother.
Dawn Petty You mean Atom Heart Mother?

Song about Mary Whitehouse
The full name of the song is "Pigs (Three Different Ones)". Mary Whitehouse is the third type of pig mentioned.

Donald Trump theme song!
When thier gone this is gone

Rather listen to Floyd??? There's no picking Floyd apart ... Lay back and appreciate....... Breath. Breath in the air .....
