"Time" is a song by English progressive rock band Pink Floyd. It is included as the fourth track on The Dark Side of the Moon (1973) and was released as a single in the United States. Bassist Roger Waters wrote the lyrics and the music is credited to all four band members. Keyboardist Richard Wright shares lead vocals (his last until "Wearing the Inside Out" on The Division Bell) alongside guitarist David Gilmour.
The lyrics deal with the passage of time - time can slip by, but many people do not realise it until it is too late. Waters got the idea when he realised he was no longer preparing for anything in life, but was right in the middle of it. He has described this realisation taking place at ages 28 and 29 in various interviews. It is noted for its long introductory passage of clocks chiming and alarms ringing, recorded as a quadrophonic test by Alan Parsons, not specifically for the album.

The guitar solo is so powerful not just because it’s so good but because it’s perfectly placed in the song. “No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun,” and then the guitar plays the anguish of the middle aged man looking back and seeing a wasted life.
The last lines of the first verse are some of the most powerful and true lyrics ever
Notice how everyone stopped everything to absorb the solo. Very few people can accomplish that.
David Gilmour is a master of it.
I was about to mention that too, Gilmour's solo says as much as the lyrics and still speaks to your soul after all these years. Amazing

My brother bought me my first Pink Floyd album and its dark side of the moon...he bought me two, one I played the other my dad incased in glass, so I have two first print albums!! Their concert was fantastic!!

I always enjoy folk's reactions when they don't keep pausing the song. I remember first hearing songs when they came out on the radio, we couldn't pause that!😂

I absolutely LOVE watching Ruben getting Gilmoured during the solo. The eyes roll back into the head. I have had the exact same reaction to that solo for the last 47 years too, my friend.

Blessed to be born in a time of the talents of Roger Keith, David Gilmour and George Waters...it's like having Beethoven, Mozart and Clementi together...you have better odds of getting struck by lightning 17 times in the same spot on a Saturday morning in July than this ever happening again.Just simply an era for music that is absolutely stellar.
50 year anniversary of this album and still the best album of all time. Still in top 100 billboard. Definitely if DSOTM was released today, todays artist be blown away by this album. Something never heard nothing like it

I am nearly subscribed to all these reactors, but my favorite is HalfLife Sistah because she shows more emotions during her & her husband, Wolf's channel. But I like Vin & Sori because they are more open minded even though they are Christians.
