A really good point about drainage. I often have properties with very poor drainage or runoff and the filthy, algae ridden water just pools back onto the cleaned area. When the water dries, the dirt and active algae is deposited back onto the hard surfaces. In a few cases, I've used a wet/dry vac to suck up the pooled dirty water so it can be emptied elsewhere, but this adds considerable time to the task. Any tips or tricks to deal with this problem?

Hey. I've meant to ask for a while. Can you explain a bit more about the chemicals you're using? I remember you mentioned it could make you blind 😬 how quickly does it break down? How long do you leave it on, and what happens if it's not rinsed properly? Does it harm grass and other plants? Is it ok if it goes in the drains to the waterways? Maybe a topic for a video... take care! 👍

    • @PartridgeExteriorCleaning
      @PartridgeExteriorCleaning  3 ปีที่แล้ว +25

I will mention it in a vid soon but also to you now :D Sodium Hypochlorite (sh, hypo, bleach etc)
It will break down after an hour and be innefective once it's reacted with a surface.
I leave it on for 20 mins max, if not rinsed properly then some salts may appear on the surface but they will go after a bit of rain, its terrible for grass and plants so rinse them before hand and afterwards. If you noticed in the video i had a hose watering the plants the entire time the bleach was being rinsed and pooling near them.
It's heavily diluted by the time it reached the drains and then will be diluted further, bit of a grey area but from what I understand it's fine.
      Hope that helps!

@@PartridgeExteriorCleaning Your vids are compulsive viewing - crazy - just watching pressure washing! I have a large flagged terrace and a 160m x 10m sloping tarmac driveway under trees that mosses up badly and needs pressure washed twice a year. I've looked at chemical agents, but had concerns about the impact on the surrounding trees and plants. No easy answer, but there's a wikipedia note on hypo: 'In spite of its strong biocidal action, sodium hypochlorite per se has limited environmental impact, since the hypochlorite ion rapidly degrades before it can be absorbed by living beings.[58]
However, one major concern arising from sodium hypochlorite use is that it tends to form persistent chlorinated organic compounds, including known carcinogens, that can be absorbed by organisms and enter the food chain. These compounds may be formed during household storage and use as well during industrial use.[38] For example, when household bleach and wastewater were mixed, 1-2% of the available chlorine was observed to form organic compounds.[38] As of 1994, not all the byproducts had been identified, but identified compounds include chloroform and carbon tetrachloride.[38] The estimated exposure to these chemicals from use is estimated to be within occupational exposure limits.[38]'

Some of those areas, such as what I assume is the back patio with the circular stone design, don't even look the same anymore. That beautiful stone is able to add its color to the home!

I used to do a bit of softwashing and pressure washing but mainly windows
Now I’m spending most of my time pressure washing and doing roofs
    Keep it up Sid
Best time to be in this business I think

Es ist schon fast medativ zuzuschauen, wie aus schmutzigen Steinen wieder saubere werden. Echt Wahnsinn, was sich so über die Jahre auf Steinen ablagert. Der Vorher Nachher Effekt ist beeintruckend. Echt gute Arbeit. 👍👍👍

What a beautiful job you did! The stone work around this property is gorgeous! Who would have known is was so colorful?! So satisfying seeing you wash all the crud away. Great job bringing the beauty back to this stone landscaping. Time to binge some more of your videos because I'm a new sub to your channel!! Gotta catch up on more of your beautiful restoration work.

I’m not sure how I missed this when it first came out but I’m so glad I discovered it now! The before and after shots were incredible. Hard to believe there was so much glorious color hiding under all that grey! Both the stones and the stone work are stunning! You did a fantastic job bringing all that hidden beauty back to life!!! Wow!!

The only thing better than watching you power wash, Sid, is power washing my own yard 😝 It’s tiny, so it doesn’t take me very long, but the “before and after” makes it worthwhile. I really think I need to get a life 🤪

Good morning , I've lost count of how many of your videos I've watched , I think this is called addiction , lol. The transformations are amazing and it's easy to imagine the job satisfaction you get from this . I knew there was such a thing as Indian sandstone but had no idea what it looked like . To see it brought up to its former glory was amazing .
