this ARG was so disappointing. It could've been such an incredible symbolism and story about abuse, about how Fred creating a split personality and pretending to be playing with his kids in minecraft as a coping mechanism for what he did to his kids. But nope. It's just yet another sci-fi-esque, possession, "oh everything was a simulation wow!", "kids souls being put into a game oo scawy". It was genuinely eerie how mysterious the first few videos were, but man...
I hope the whole "possession" and the whole corporation and "science" thing is one big metaphor. It's so well made, so i still quite enjoy it. But still, i have some gripes about this ARG.
Tackling serious topics like child abuse while using Sci-fi concepts is incredibly iffy and in a lot of cases just shouldnt be attempted. In other cases, the serious topic the series mentions feel more like it was tacked on for shock value or to make it look more interesting than it is as opposed to actually saying something about the topic, which is what I feel this series falls into (doesn't mean it is true, that's just what it feels like to me). It couldve definitely done without it imo but it's still well made
There is no kids soul in a game, there is no simulation either, a lot of lore was missed, but I still loved the video Mush The Skeleton made, he did put the effort which makes me happy
@@MeMyBrotherAndHim Its the man himself! Please don't take it the wrong way, i do like your videos a lot, its genuinely well made, and i'm sorry for misunderstanding the story. It's sometimes tiring seeing the same tropes over and over again, especially in a market as saturated as horror nowadays. I've also only watched a few videos of yours and Mush's video, as i don't have a lot of time to spare, so i apologize.
Again, no hate. Just a few of my problems with the story!

is it just a pet peeve for me or does anyone else agree that little things like the glitch effects not looking at all like computer glitches and instead being obviously added in post really throws you out of it? lol that in addition to the caretaker song totally broke any immersion i couldve ever had
I probably shouldn't have attempted that on the first two video, but they are satire, I mentioned it in a community post, I loved the video mush made on MMBAH but there is still a lot of symbolism and plot point that he missed, so some element seem to not make sense
@@MeMyBrotherAndHim the plot makes sense to me just fine personally, but the glitch effects and such are pretty consistently weak through the rest of the videos and the presentation on the non-minecraft bits is pretty weak, things like the transhumanism tape being literally just a single digital font on a single colored screen made it feel extremely barebones when i think args thrive largely on making you feel the reality theyre constructing - not to mention ending it off by literally spelling out what you're supposed to take away from it in the descriptions is like, lame as hell, there's no room to actually interpret anything on a higher level than the literal and to me it surely feels like you didn't have interest in exploring the implications the literal story might have

34:20 if you haven't found out already, i think the cursive is supposed to say "I've "frozen" myself", the space between "froz" and "en" kinda makes it look like it's two separate words and some of the letters (f r and z specifically) are written a bit less neat than what's taught so it's easy to misread if you're not super familiar with cursive.

I don't disagree with your sentiment. Obviously mental health awareness should be normalized. I just hate everything in your language that you used to get said sentiment across. "How about we don't do obviously bad thing m'kay? That would be a little neat imho" implies a sort of "look at how aware of the issue and morally justified I am. aren't I so cool" vibe that I don't appreciate.
Still, you are right. It needs to be said by more people. Just, not like that. I suggest "Stop stigmatizing narcissism as a diagnosable disorder with treatment options." or even "We should stop" as a replacement. Less "I think, look at me" and more "You should, look at yourself" which then speaks less on why you're so awesome for saying something that isn't particularly praise worthy so much as it is a basic step of mental health awareness.
It's good that you're aware of that basic step, but it's a little indecent to want brownie points because of it. And there's always the benefit of the doubt that that wasn't your intention. However, it certainly reads like that. So in the future if you intend to just say something without drawing attention to your character as a person, then the suggested phrasing is the one that will get that across. But like, I'm just some depressed autistic on the internet so who really cares what I have to input on the conversation?

The whole "you, me, him" convention when writing in the book and quill is cringe inducing. It feels like an edgy teen trying to play around with perspective. I don't mind that they're toying with who's in control or which perspective is which, but there are definitely more effective ways to do that.
