Players nowadays don’t understand the pain of vgc 2016 where you had to deal with hitting pblades and not being permanently stun locked by moody dark void and it was all meta. I’m very thankful almost every meta after that generally didn’t rely on inaccurate moves.
@@NorfIGuess not a meta move? You didnt play during that time. At the start and during the middle of it you has to assume ting lu had fissure Chi yu's least accurate move was overheat, what are you talking about?
@@Nmoment-uv6jc Ting Lu was never reliant on Fissure, it's unreliable jank (and why it was far less popular in OTS) that was never the best option, with anybody with common sense ran Ruination over it. Chi Yu HAS to rely on Heat Wave and Overheat, as those are the main ways for it do deal damage. That 10% miss chance is far more significant when you roll it every turn rather than being a hail mary or a cheeky button to press on ladder. If you're in a situation where you're banking on Fissure landing, you already lost. The entire game has you banking on Overheat and Heat Wave.
@@Asm0d3u5 Yeah, I think Grimmsnarl is very strong rn. With all the Clear Amulets and Fighting moves going around, is nice to have a Dark type that resists Ghost, not weak to Fighting and still can reduce damage with screens
I love groudon and it is a staple of my team. I run it within an assault vest with a brave nature and zero IVs and speed so I can set the weather. I go full HP and attack. Ironhead/heavy slam, thunder punch, you can run either heat crash or fire punch and lastly earthquake or precipice blades depending on who my partners are.
Honestly, calyrex’s moves should have a chance to miss. They’ve powercrept Pokémon to unbalanced heights. Or if anything, the weather mons should have their already weaker moves be 100% accurate
If I have less then 4 braincells, I can't have the intelligence to play this team anymore If I have more than 5 braincells, I'll have the intelligence to make another one
Re: special contact. There's a few Grass Knot is probably the other common one you'll run into, but Petal Dance, Wring Out, Trump Card, and Infestation are the other special moves that make contact
The thing is clear amulet P-blades doesn’t guarantee a kill on Incin. You can’t run life orb because you’ll get intimidate cycled. I mean sword dance is okay. I’m not a believer. 90 Base speed. No priority moves. No self recovery moves. And if you’re running SD/protect/P blades/ and a fourth coverage move. It’s easy to counter that. But here’s the sleeper flaw about Groudon. And that’s his 90 base Spdf. In a meta with CSR, Miraidon, Raging Bolt. Flutter Mane. Terapagos. Any specs user is gonna rip a new one 💀
Interested in a turtle + dozo team? I think the donductor would appreciate this monster I've created. Also I feel like a banded Groudon paired with hydrapple late game would just be evil.
Groudon isn’t bad. It even performed better than Koraidon at Indianapolis since having spread moves in general is quite nice, but it has the issue where you have to either lose to Incineroar by not running Clear Amulet or lose to everything else by not running AV, so obviously you choose clear amulet and aren’t sticking on field like you want. Honestly, both sun setters being weak to Calyrex Ice and hard countered by Pelliper is rough.
I started the format playing Koraidon, but everyone kept saying "Groudon is better", so I tested him. Played 5 matches on showdown, missed at least once everytime I used PBlades, thrown this garbage mon in the trash where it belongs
Genuinely my favourite thing in Reg G is comparing frauds like Groudon to goats like raging bolt. Unironically would rather run Raging Bolt as a restricted over groudon most the time, same goes with Ursaluna BM

@Nmoment-uv6jc Fissure was never a meta move, and was more a niche choice. For a real inaccuracy champ, talk Chi-Yu.

To be fair it's also not his team and with the team paste not working in the beginning of the video he probably didn't know the ev spreads
