As someone who recently broke several ribs, received significant road rash, and obliterated a clavicle by falling off a mountain bike landing on the roadway at high speeds... Thank you for doing / recording this, My days of doing anything fun on a mountain bike are over, but with videos like this i don't mind as much.
I was in Bogota when they were building this course and some of the jumps were brutal - the video doesn't do it justice. I was exhausting just walking down Respect to everyone who rode it down and lets not forget the great gang of guys & gals who constructed the course.
I think "the great gang of guys and gals who built this course" are sadistic. I would be nervous walking down. Some of those ramps look like they would launch you into the trees.

0:54 how nice to have that little slope down that two stairs, when they're going down a few thousand more anyways :D
When we raced back in the mid 80's, mtn bikes had no suspension. To do this course on one of those bikes would be unthinkable. Come to think of it, I still wouldn't want to try this on any bike. Well beyond my comfort zone. Kudos to the guys and gals who make it look easy.
I love these urban courses, the one in Rio is awesome too. If you like these also check out the Megavalance race, downhill starting in the snow in the French Alps. In the first icy turn, there's always like a million-bike crash. Lower down the snow gives way to beautiful meadows and shady forests and finally a very old town.
OMG that terrifies me! The cost of failure looks so high .... and there are so very many opportunities to fail! Salut! The riders must need wheelbarrows to carry their cohones.
love the little step helpers at 0:54. At that point the riders are seconds from descending 1000 stone steps and clearing some big gaps but I'll bet they were appreciative of those little ramps? Amazing course and riders.
Watching this makes me think of my cousins son TREVOR BELL. He was chosen a few years back to be a part of the Olympic bike team. Insane footage, thank you for sharing...
You're also very physically exhausting. I've been casually watching these videos for a while now, but I can see the hard work that goes into selecting the course, preparing the equipment, and training the staff.
Es el mejor manejo de una bici jamás visto... Increíble la verdad, un trayecto muy peligroso y muy estrecho, además de un montón de escaleras y curvas cerradas... La verdad es toda una gesta.
We actually do walk them up. Some people do it for religious reasons, some just to try, and some for sport (I do the latter). For an experienced runner it could take about 23 minutes to climb. For most people, about 1 or 1.5 hours. We start at 2.700 meters over sea level and finish at 3.100. It's madness. Cheers from Bogotá, Colombia
Who else can feel the arm pump? 💪🥵
Lol it must be terrible
Can't imagine how bad his arms must be burning after that killer run!
Nuh he has the rebound on full fast and compesion on soft and he doesn't fill anything 😂
@@rosdiani6094 lol wth
@@sargiotis still gonna hurt tho. After a run like that suspension can't save you entirely

Get well soon 💐
One of the craziest athletic events I've ever seen. Pumped me up just watching it!
Absolute madness. Loved every second. Now let's see them race back up
Race back up? Only perverts want to see that mate.👀
Cross Country style, eh?
YES ! I don't think they had to pedal once for the entire down-hill leg. the up-hill will be brutal !
@@dave-in-nj9393 they’re pedaling a hellua lot more than you’d expect
@@dave-in-nj9393 trust me, downhill wears you tf out
Incredible biking aside - let's take a moment and appreciate the herculean effort that went in to building this mind-boggling stone path.
Built by slaves probably..
@@M711-n5n man why you gotta do that

Hell, I'm exhausted after _watching_ this.. 😵
Imagine the stone masons.
I live in bogota, the video just doesnt show how steep the stairs are haha
@@soundtester3991 Yeah as an off-road enthusiast I can confirm, the camera never does justice to how steep it really is to ride on!

Yeah, I still run my hardtail with Rock Shox up front but wouldn't dare to hit this course.
The Longest Urban Downhill Race on the Planet, or how my bike would like to call it: How I lost almost all my screws.
and burned 10 sets of brake pads in one day. 😃🙌
or how the metal bar that holds my right leg together puts it: How i put my master in hospital..... again.
😂
And ruined my rims!

Honestly from how hard this guy was pedaling I'd be done 20 seconds in 😂
And blowing a whistle the whole way down too! 🙂
Its downhill so the pedalling isnt that difficult.. its the ridiclous corners, jumps and drops that would be where i would fail after 5 seconds
I didn't see him pedal once, probably didn't need to...
@@buttermybutt7 He did, but not much. It's extremely exhausting regardless.
I'd be DEAD that far in! Either from exertion or splattered brains!
All I can think of is Sam Pilgrim and how he'd call this the most massive "Stairset of Doom" on the planet!

It takes about one hour to get to the top of that mountain walking at a fast pace. He covered this distance in five minutes.
Newer seen anything like in my life , these guys must have balls of steel .
That person chasing him with the whistle is cray 🤣
PQP!!!!
Essa foi a descida mais difícil que já vi!!!!
👍😎👍
Omg you cant even breath in Bogota cause the altitude! This is AMAZING
I always knew practicing riding down the stairs from the attic would pay off!
Omg! Mind blown! Such a sick line!
And what crazy endurance!
Grandiosa forma de descender ✨
My fork on that downhill ride will say....
YAAAMMEEETTEEEE SSEEENNNPPAAAIII 😂😂😂
Thank goodness we now have camera stabilization 😁👋
My body is numb just watching this. That track is brutal.
Impressive beyond belief. KUDOs to anyone even attempting this.
Wow 🤩
That is a real down hill run !
Ultimate stair set of doom.
This is how I get to school but boy is it hard coming home

Red Bull gives you wings.
Beautiful!
I would hate to have to walk up that thing :) Awesome.
the arm pump by the bottom (tbh by 1/4 way down) would be outta this world!
That’s nuts!

Oh my goodness…hats off to this guy 👌👌
I can feel the arm pump sitting right here in an office chair
A shout out to the stair builders. Nice!
This is wild and insane! :O
My ears popped 15 times just watching this
My legs and spine hurt watching this
Holy crap! That was awesome!
Very impressive! However, more impressive, the guy who can run up it!
INSANE!
Crazy! This track is probably slippery like hell. At least the wet parts.
My eyes still keep jumping after watching this video 😂

Nasty 5 minutes of steps
🔥Pedrito burns looked soo composed on the bike, it was incredible🔥

Google: "To get past the steps, hop off your bike and walk with it over the steps"

Neat, it would be interesting to compare speeds to a rider on a XC bike
You mean uphill ?😆
An xc bike would super bottom out, I would not ride 130 front 130 rear on this at all!
the real heroes are the locals who have walk up those stairs!!!
My knees & wrists hurt just watching this...
Wow, going down the 7 thousand steps on your Steed with Tropical Skyrim just got an insane graphics upgrade
I’d totally love to do something like this one day but I personally prefer the mountains that are/have unpaved trails

This is similar to my bike ride to work trying to make it before my 7 minute late show grace period every morning..
And that bike track! Seems very difficult to ride!
Holy crap! That course is full of opportunities to die. It’s scary just watching the vid.
Deliveroo riders wake up in a cold sweat having nightmares of the house at the top ordering from the restaurant at the bottom.
really cool ride
My 2 year old daughter dropped her ball at the top of these steps.....screamed & screamed. She's 19 now & I'm only half way back up.
I want to do this so bad , ill see u soon red bull bike!
This probably the first time ever I watched a full TH-cam vid and said “wait it’s done already?”
Does anyone have the link to the drone coverage during this race? Would love to see that view as well!
Was just about to go for a ride, now that I'm sore and exhausted I think I'll rest in favourite arm chair.
At the end, "Right lad, good run, now cycle back up to the top, and try again, go one, while you are still fresh"
Wow!!! This is insane! What a PRO! 🔥🔥🔥
