If you're in Kanto and having trouble getting your first Abra, consider going to Diglett cave and capturing one first to catch Abra with. You're going to want a Diglett with Arena Trap ability so that Abra can't teleport away.
I used Meowth, who I think as a new player is the best mon in the game for a while. Fake out + Taunt kept Abra locked while weaking it & payday op + pickup
Just use a Butterfree and sleep powder it or an Oddish there's literally multiple pokemon you can get before you get to cerulean that will help you catch an abra
Just use Zubat, you get them in Mt. Moon before ever seeing an abra and they learn Mean Look at lvl 10. Mean Look prevents Abra from escaping and it knows no attacking moves
Quick note is that using sweet scent to lure pokemon hordes consume PP and Sweet Scent only has 20 PP so you can only use it 4 times before you regen. You can use PP Max to make increase it to 32 PP.

I love to use unconventional utility pokemons! My secret catcher is Gallade with False swipe / Hypnosis / Mean look / Teleport I also attach Wide Lens to increase Hypnosis accuracy, really fun to use!

I used zubat's Mean look to lock Abra from flee the battle and I got surprised on how good zubat/Golbat/Crobat are in the game. In the beginning of the game zubat with hypnosis and mean look helped a lot to catch Pokemons Btw thanks for the help with the wisps location in Kanto, next year I will need the other zones 😝 ( hopefully xD )
God this is a whole different language too me. I remember when pokemon games were simple, catch a pokemon, level it, evolve it, teach it HM/TMs and you are done.
I'd recommend a Parasect for the ones who can't buy a breloom, it can learn sweet scent, spore, fury swipes and a good power move. You can find one pretty cheap with good IV's. You can also level a paras or find a parasect pretty easily
I'm going through 3 storylines at the same time, that way I don't have to grind at all! With the added benefit of being able to reach alpha spawns, I'm now on gym 7 of every region except unova and sailing smoothly.
Getting a Pokémon with the cute charm ability. This helps raise the chance of encountering Pokémon of the opposite gender. Lopunny is a good choice and you can find buneary in eterna forest sinnoh.
For my catching Pokémon I caught a wild Smeargle in Artisan Cave using a Scyther with a quick claw and having it sketch False Swipe, then if you are far enough in Kanto, there are two Bug Cathers (one on route 4 and one in Mt Moon) that have a Paras and Parasect that know Spore (give Smeargle a Chesto Berry) and sketched that. I had it sketch Pay Day and Covet as the other two
Welp time to start evolving all my magikarps into gyrados . This should make me alot of money early definetly recommend him too . I did two whole storylines with him 💯
I'm currently in the Kanto League and I already hate it because I have like 4 useable pokemon the other 2 are either not evolved or low level and the pokemon I have are Charizard, Dragonite (Gets killed by a single ice beam even tho it's level 62), Mismagius (The stongest pokemon in my party) and Lopunny (Used for healing wish) and the others are switch helpers since they won't survive an attack. My shiny Smeargle is my catcher & sweet scent mon! I also got a Shiny Quagsire I’m using for the Water HMs and Strength. My shiny Crobat has Fly and Defog and I have a shiny Banette I use for frisk but it has Flash. Want to get a full team of shinies that follow me around - Just need shiny Breloom (lol good luck to me) and Meowth.
Great video, just I wonder why instead of breloom you don't wanna use Gallade? He has teleport/Thunder Wave/False Swipe/Hypnosis (less precision than spore but still a great move and that is not stopped by grass type farming for example) , note that this ain't to criticise, I just wondered why this one and not gallade that is truly awesome when it comes to be a catching pokemon. hypnosis is unusable imo on a consistent catcher unless ur using them as some niche imprison catcher vs shinies that can explode thru damp via an ability (koffing) or teleport away (ralts)

Can I interest u in high jump kick? Scrafty is bulky enough to not need to out speed most things. Also I like running mine with life orb and if they ever drop gen 6 he learns poison jab which is really useful

Im in the hoann region and by doing the zizagoon glitch i got my magikarp to level 99 then when it hit 100 it evolved into a gerydos ahahaha ive been playing emerald since release so that specific storyline is way to easy especially for a speedrunner

I had a huge issue with that recently during gym runs, some halloween update must’ve affected them. I fixed them by disabling particle effects on my pokémon

Not to speak for your emotions but that feels like sunken cost fallacy to me, its important in life not to rob yourself of new or better experiences due to a worry of feeling like you "wasted" your time. For sweet scent Pokemon I personally love Victreebel, it can learn flash and cut also, so is pretty usefull for me

I used a Crobat to win Hoenn's E4. Since that, Crobat has a special place in my heart, I never thought it could be so good

I've recomend all my friends to start with Hoenn since that's where you get the quickest exp.share
But if i get those pokemon i need a new one each storyline because i cant use the leveled ones kinda annoying :(

Toxic Orb + Poision Heal ability makes it gain a lot of HP over time + lets it not get hit by other statuses tht hurt it like burn or para.
