- I made my Biggest Comic Book purchase ever but I literally have no clue about Comic Books, so at the end part of the video, I showed them one by one hoping that you can give me an idea and tell me in the comment about what I should be looking for when it comes to quality, specific parts of the Comics may be like Codes or anything like that. I appreciate it so much.

An experienced comic buyer would had went through all the books quickly and noticed these were not a good buy and passed on purchasing them.
Maybe, but there’s only a few ways to learn and become an experienced comic buyer, and hands on is the best way to learn IMO! It’s better then having purchased all of these books at retail when they came out!
@@epicestate Best way to learn since you don't know what to look for is watch a bunch Very Gary Comics videos, and others like Longbox Love Affair. You'll see and learn a lot from videos like that. Not looking through the boxes is no way to learn how to be a good comic buyer.

I know this is two years after the fact but I'm sure I saw the first appearance of Lobo in there. I've seen that one go for 300-400 bucks depending on condition. So, even if the rest get sold for a buck a piece so what?

Usually I like to pay between 10-20 cents a comic when buying in bulk. When not knowing alot about comics especially if there's good books you can pay more but you didnt really know what you're looking through. Its definitely a learning experience enjoy going through them and sorting

Normally I'd say $500 for 2000 comics is a good deal but I have to agree with the dude below who thought you may have overpaid a little

I think you did alright there, even if you sell most at 50 cents each, you'll double your money. And I expect there are a few other minor keys, you could sell some small limited series as sets, like the Howard the duck, man of steal and get a little more. I expect there are a few other minor keys like man of steel 18.

Bundle up the Thors, Namor and other recognizable titles are sell as bundles on eBay. I did see Superman:The Man of Steel #18.. 1st appearance of Doomsday…minor Key. Sell that by itself on eBay.
Some decent potential in there if you lot up some runs/story arcs together. Like at 8:02 I can practically guarantee no one cares about Timber Wolf, but if you bundle issues 1, 2 and 3 together someone would probably pay a a buck or two to read it. As for what I've noticed:
6:25 I saw a Predator "P" in that "movie" category! Keep an eye out for certain Aliens and Predator books. Also make sure to really go through that "Horror" category! Some indie horror titles can go for decent money (Deadworld #10 would probably be the biggest example)
9:32 Omaha....... is an "adults only" title. Some adult only titles can sell for decent amounts because complete runs are pretty difficult to attain (quite a niche market)
You didn’t pay attention when he said about selling records on eBay he has already taken the keys out and sold on ebay moast likely
I did, and I considered it. Fortunately I don’t think this guy actually knew too much, because nobody really buys 78’s at all any more. He was talking about jazz and blues being valuable, when it’s the more modern stuff like rock, hip-hop that’s the most valuable.

Some of the titles that may be valuable or Howard the duck, for, action,, any detective comics, and any popular recent movie marvel or DC titles. Moon Knight is on fire right now.

If you had a booth at an antique mall, you could triple your money... that's pretty good. Ebay lots, maybe 1 1/2 times your money. Profit is profit.
Bulk comic lots you should pay a max of $50 per Long box. There is ALOT of worthless comics out there
Some cool stuff there. Unless you have a comic book store or some geeky friends you will need to wholesale them. I'm thinking the current Marvel Universe stuff like Moon Knight would be $$

When you have time put everything in order. Download Covrprice app and find out what exactly you have. The app is easy to use. Keep on mind some books have 1st 2nd 3rd 4th and even 5th printing and some are more valuable than others. With the app you will find Key books with first appearances Bag and board those books. If you look for a book by name and issue number and it's not the exact book there are books with varient covers nit always worth more but can be any other question feel free to ask. The trail for the app is 15 days then you have to pay for it.
Thanks! I also purchased a year membership for key collector. I’ve been doing some research at my local comic shops. Today I found a nice copy of Deadpool black white and blood 1:25 variant for $30.00! I’ve been offered $1200 for the 6 boxes, but I think I’d rather go through them more and hold them until I can open a store!

As a comic book collector I didn't see anything of value. But I would have wanted to see all the books :)
Constructive criticism here... I watch other people go to estate sales and such, but in contrast with your video I feel like I get something from them. Here it seemed like this was mostly about seeing if you could get some internet comic experts to point out the rarer items. Other videos might ask that, but give back in entertainment, education, or in other ways to the viewers. I'm no TH-cam content expert, just offering my opinion. Keep at it, though!
Thanks Rory! We definitely want to give back with our content… I plan on going through these comics and pulling out key editions to explain why they are valuable/collectible. as far as that box goes i would of passed or offered a third of what he was asking per box...it's going to be hard to get your money back just based off that 1 box...should of shown us all 6 boxes because who knows maybe there was a gem in another box next time I'd bring someone with you who has knowledge on comics or don't offer too much for something you don't know much about.
If you're gonna buy do your own research
$100 a box was to much those are 25 cents comics at best should offer $50 a box there’s a few keys books maybe $20 in value.. but if you sell for a $1 each you can make your money back
I’ve only made it through one box completely so far. Doctor strange and the sorcerers supreme is the best set I’ve found so far. Quite a few $4-$8 comics. But it’s been fun going through them all and getting them bagged boarded and priced!

First mistake was buying something without knowing anything about them (Comics) as this is more art than science, if you are very lucky you might break even over a long time period. In my opinion based on what you briefly showed us you really over-paid for those comics...

You need to do more research on those comics cause some are worth money and alot of them you will be lucky to get 50 cents a piece.
Seems like you may have overpaid for that one dude. You'll make a little bit of money there, but it'll take a lot of time to sort and separate......something HE didn't want to do I'm sure.
I wouldn’t say I over paid but rather was a fair deal all around. Although there are a few $10-$25 comic books, I’m not looking to make a quick flip, I’m building inventory with the plan of opening a unique storefront location. This will go into our “comic corner” where people can actually hang out and read some of our own comics! Yes, it’s taken some time to bag board and price them all, but it’s a very educational process I probably couldn’t obtain otherwise!It was an exciting opportunity to dive into the world of comic collecting - thanks for watching!

25 cents a comic though is not over paying. Buying these all when the came out for retail was over paying. Seller was happy, I was happy and still able to make a profit. I’ll make another video soon showing the good comics from this lot

Well a lot were un bagged which is a bad sign that they weren’t of great value. Keep trying but definitely haggle more with price and era. 1990s not a great era for comics.

U def overpaid. I only saw one 10 to 15 dollar book in all u showed. All the rest u showed were common books def not worth much at all. An even bigger problem is that most seemed unbagged and boarded. It's a lot of work bagging all those and the cost is very high. Before u make another big purchase like that u need to do some homework. Ur def gonna come out on the short end on this collection unless there's some gold we didnt see but honestly the collection looked cherry picked to me. Most I would have paid would be $200 max.
Comics I saw are all worth $2-3 each I think, I saw a 1st appearance of Doomsday too which can go for a fair bit in mint condition. Superman Man of Steel 18

I didn’t see anything of value in this collection. Maybe the Sandman book has some value. That guy’s kids collected crappy books. If the DCEU gets their act together maybe some of those DC books will go up in value. But to me it looks like you over paid. But in fairness to you it looks like you only showed one long box but it just looking at the dividers there’s not much value in this collection. Too bad you didn’t have anyone with you that knows comics. They could’ve saved you $350
There’s quite a few marvel comics in here that weren’t shown. Probably a whole long box full. I’ve been offered $1200 wholesale buy back from my local store, so not a bad investment, just not as good as it could have been lol
