- Join me as I hit over a dozen yard sales in one morning hunting for comic books! I find several large stacks of comics along with many other non-comic treasures… but are these discoveries any good or are they just worthless junk?

That Supes VS Doomsday and Batman: Dark City tho 😳❤️
Your right, finding comic books at yard sales is hard and when I do see a sale with comics it’s either gone or undesirable books.
" he was a little high"
Yeah, that's been going around...
😉
Your content reminds me of the show American Pickers only you hunt for comic books which is even better!
Back to your roots! I hope that guy digs those books up and you find gold!
Shadow of the Bat 1 is the first appearance of Victor Zsasz and first Jeremiah Arkham. Really great series. Looks like you had an awesome time out hunting, Mike!
FYI - SPG is Space Goat Publishing (Mage Inc.). Another fun video, thanks!
Dang, what a heck of a deal on them Walking Dead.
Cyberspace is a Glow in the dark cover
You'll LOVE the trades all black in white inside
Getting those trades of the walking dead for 10 dollars is crazy. I’ve been collecting them and paying around 8 dollars for each. Super great find in my opinion and great stories too
Shadow of the Bat was a great series. Great stories and they always had really cool covers.
I think you’ll love The Walking Dead comics. One of my favorites of all time.
That Adventures of Superman 498 always brings back fond memories of my grandmother. When this whole Death of Superman craze happened. My whole family got involved in finding the books I was missing. Funeral for a Friend #1 was one of them. My wonderful grandmother haggled with a street vendor outside of her job for 20 minutes and got me the book for the price she was willing to pay!!! Don't mess with my grandma!!! HA HA HA I still have the book. I treasure it!!!
Great comment and story, thanks for sharing!
The batch of Walking Dead trades is fantastic. Great reads
Check out Superman number 175 (2nd series) by Loeb and McGuiness. Doomsday was resurrected but Superman learned from his mistakes in the past and strategically beat Doomsday so easily this time around.
That spin the wheel was the most random purchase of the video 😂
I just added Secret Origins Batman and Mud Pack to my wishlist today with the remaining Secret Origins and did purchase Secret Origins Specter and Deadman. Great books. Great finds btw.
Wow, simply wow, that was your best haul ever. 🎉
That X comic looks like a Frank Miller cover.
Love the cap gun! I used to have one as a 5yr old and older. 😅 I could spin it pretty good. 😊😅
Robin 2 series is a good read and great joker story
Good morning Michael
Great day out and about with lunch money comics. Thanks for sharing the morning. And I love that chocolate wheel, we had them here as well. The wheel of fortune. So when you get to the 10000 give away I feel the wheel comes into play in some way. A great tour of collectables as well. Great work!
Cheers Al The Goldketfourcolorkidownunda
Lunch money on a Friday? What a start to the holiday weekend! Another awesome one Mike
Great day hunting fun show.
Don't feel bad, I haven't seen the Walking Dead either...lol😋. You still have some nice books, yard sales are hit and miss, miss, and miss.
The walking dead comic is terrific. Many twists and turns and surprises. The pace is much faster than the TV series.
Roll initiative and let's go to some yard sales! It's old and cool so I got to buy it...yes! The gaming wheel is so cool. Wow $10 for the wheel. Funny I have never found a comic at a yard sale. One of the reasons I watch it gives me hope. I love the Classic X-Men as well was my introduction to Claremont/Byrne X-men. Cyberspace 3000 comics sometimes has a glow in the dark cover which makes it even weirder. To use D&D terms those comics were definitely a random encounter!
That xmen lost tales detached cover is the first xmen comicbook i bought with my own money. Funny fact: mine got the cover detached due to many, many times reading it. Still have it today.
Cyberspace 3000 was one of Marvel's U.S. released British titles that they released. Most of them were pretty crappy. Dark Horse' Comic's Greatest World was a group of titles of original characters by various creators. Some were pretty good.
Keep your eye out for DC comics that have a Logo of DC UNIVERSE usually white background and black lettering, they were inserts in packs of comics in the late 80's early 90's exclusive to i think Walmart or a big store like that. Not known really, but nice to have in the collection.
I loved Shadow of the Bat! Have the entire run. Yes, those Superman books were a good read so check them out.
I'm so jealous.I'm very new and just getting started. And I haven't gotten a chance yet to hit the garage sales to look for the gold. Those xmen figures in your video brought me back to 1995.
When i saw the wheel behind you i woke my wife up laughing. You have to keep the wheel on the wall for 3 vids as a penalty.
Haha I wouldn’t want that running gag to get you in trouble with your wife!
This is one of the first times that I recall that I think you did not do so well. The best pick ups were that gaming wheel and the package of the walking dead trade paperback. I read the whole series and it is fantastic.
Yeah it happens more often than I like to admit, I can’t be super lucky all the time! But I was able to sell a lot of those yard sale books and make a profit already so that was nice, and as you said I have the Walking Dead to read and way-too-big spinning wheel to play around with!
I go to a lot of yard sales looking for records, collectibles and comic books. I went to one a few weeks back and the garage was packed with some really interesting stuff. As I was looking around, I found a box under some board games that was labeled Tonka Trucks but when I opened it the box was full of silver and bronze age books. I also found 5 golden age books. There were about 80 books and I ended up buying the box for $100. It was mainly western and war books with a few super hero bronze age books. But at a little over $1 a book for silver and gold comics I think it was worth it.
I have read the entire Walking Dead run and it is really good. The Tv show has some differences in characters dying off but does a decent job following the main arc. Deffently read it before watching.
I laughed my head off when that old carny wheel ended up on your back seat. 😂
Bargain for $10 !
Don’t know much about that Cyberspace 3000 either but I do know it glows in the dark which is pretty cool
Great video and books. 😊 I always ask at yarsales, keeps me from buying other stuff. 😊
I feel like you should read the Batman storyline “The Cult”
The Walking Dead is a GREAT read! That was probably my favorite pickup of yours from this video. ❤
I get the time issues. I work Alot of hours and for the last 18-19 years I played gigs on the weekends but I got lucky years ago after a gig I was kinda wound up and couldn't sleep so I decided to watch the walking dead. The first 2 seasons were over and the 3rd was getting ready to start. I'm not much a zombie horror guy so I didn't think I'd like it but to my surprise, I got Hooked after binging the first season. The first is just 6 episodes but after the first episode it takes Off fast. Definitely worth the watch. They don't follow the comics exactly but the "story's" are very close
Commenting as I watch. The Walking Dead comics are a bit different from the show. They exerted some creative license. Both were good in my opinion.
5 years ago my friend bought boxes of unsold comics from the 70's,80's and 90's from an old bookstore franchise that closed down then sold them individually. She almost sold them all. Her dad was a manager and had connections.
Theres a bunch of those later X Men classics with Adam Hughes covers .. I think thats one
Man when you said Grendel I thought you might have found one of the three original Grendel comic books which would have been an awesome score. Overall great video as always 💯
Hi again Mike, Even though the first episode of the walking dead 📺 show kind of rips off 28 days later. I love that episode. If you watch no other just watch that one.Shadow of the bat are solid reads and great covers.
Ok, last comment. Lol. There are 4 of those Robin hologram books. I picked up the set for cheap on a Whatnot bid.
I like the walking dead. I prefer the television series over the comics books. Especially when Neagan appears for the first time.
Nice pickups. I just did a couple videos on Comic's Greatest World for the X book. It's an ongoing series I'm working on. I do like X as he reminds me of Deathstroke, Batman, and Spawn.
YAY Friday post!!!
I’m watching the walking dead right now I picked up a collection for about $70 mostly 100 and above. But also had the full trade paperbacks in it.
Solid mid grade spinning wheel that is now
This is my first time commenting on one of your videos, but I wanted to say I love your content! Keep it up! Regarding the Walking Dead... I am neither a big horror TV and movie fan nor a big horror comic book fan. I started watching The Walking Dead, from the beginning, but after it was already on for a couple of seasons. And I started reading the comics at around issue 60 or 70. It quickly became what I felt was the best TV show I've ever seen, with the exception of Seinfeld, lol. And I liked the comics better than any other comic I had ever read. The thing I loved so much about the comic, other than the amazing plot, was that there were no little summaries. All of the text was dialogue, so it really made you feel like you are right there, more so than any other comic I had ever read.
Awesome, thanks so much for watching and commenting, and I’ll definitely be digging into TWD soon!
That she hulk figurine could catch a fine dollar. You should have asked. Its cool you do other stuff other than comics. Picking and punching channel used to be comic unboxings but now hes sandals, dolls, neon beer signs, you name it. I know you dont read DC but i want you to read an entire run of 1992s Valor. Its a great series that after issue 3 i know you'll be lured into. If you see the comic grab it and make it your dirty dc pleasure 😉
Thanks for the recommendation!
I watched all your videos in a few weeks, decided to start collecting comics again after a few decades gap, then managed to buy a crate of 189 Marvel/DC books for 90 pounds at a car bootsale :) Most were bagged and in good enough condition, plus some first issues. Comic collecting is addictive!
Same! I collected comics in 1996 when i was 12 then stopped in 2010. I began collecting again weeks ago and just bought my first silver age comic book.
Shadow of the bat 1 has the first zasz but it also had a really cool arkham pop up and 2 dope posters
I would have purchased the prize wheel for ten bucks too, That's a really cool find.
I love the Walking Dead. I am sure you will enjoy it.
One of my favorite things to do is to hit up yard sales and estate sales for this kind of thing. The thrill of the hunt is real!! This is by far my favorite comic book TH-cam channel.
The thrill of the hunt is real! Thanks so much!
Scare Tactics was a fun little series incorporating various teen monsters...jla with more angst..
As for Bat's & Supes ...can't help as I was never a fan..
Grindelwald & XO were also good series..
Sheesh, seriously, where are these yard sales, lol? They look like mini-flea markets!! Nice!
Yeah the yard sale stuff was neat I have a suggestion for your wheel of fortune when you have your next comic book giveaway day try to incorporate that in some way or another keep up the good work enjoying your show.
Haha I should try that! Not sure how random that wheel is going to be but it could be fun!
Good hunt!!! Speaking of finds...me and my youngest have been sorting long boxes and came across full run of Star Wars: Heir to the empire and newsstand at that!!
Sweet, nice find!
That Shadow of the Bat #1 is a nice minor key. 1st appearance of Victor Zsasz.
Superman Vs. Doomsday comics are cool and the best pick ups in this video. I think the gaming wheel could be used for fun milestone Subscribers comic book give away.
Nice review.
Nice haul Mike especially the walking dead trades their in black in white but definitely a great read👍
Man! I dig your videos on flea markets and yard sales! Never know sometimes what's out there and that's the exciting part! Happy hunting! Keep em' up!
Dark Knight are typically a good read.
I love the wheel!
Oh!!! Walking dead!! Of course, read the comic first, is more brutal. If you like the comic the tv series is going to be a walk in the park
I have the full run of the Dark Horse “X” comics. Excellent stories and art. Most of the covers are awesome
Makes hunting for comic’s easier when all those tag sales were so close together. That’s what I love about spring and fall in our area. There are so many of them. Columbus Day weekend will be coming up soon and we always have allot of people in our town cleaning out their homes for tag sales! FYI
Batman Dark Knight Dark City is a great Mignola covers.
That first part of Batman: Dark Knight, Dark City (Batman 452) is a super-underrated storyline and I *think* has taken on some kind of key status in the last few years. I would bag that one. I have found it to be a more expensive issue to pick up in recent years.
Loved seeing the other stuff.
I had to make a choice between collecting comix or Action figures it was getting to big for my budget now i just collect comix from the early 80's down
I would love to see a video on how you price comics out in the wild. :D
I could probably do that on the fly in a video, but in this case I didn’t really know the value of any other than there wasn’t any big keys. So in that case if they are modern non-key books I aim for $1 a piece.
Montreal Expos legend Pedro Martinez 🤙😜
I really enjoy seeing the range of toys, games, cards and more unusual items (yes skull, I'm talking to you) that you stumble on at these sales, Mike.
The Walking Dead trades bundle was so worth picking up.
Comics' Greatest World was Dark Horse's attempt to create a unified superhero universe and was launched with those minicomics with card covers. Titles included X, Barb Wire (adapted to film, starring Pamela Anderson) and Ghost, which lasted the longest I think and features beautiful Adam Hughes art in early issues.
Vertigo's Black Orchid series is well worth getting and all 22 issues are still quite cheap; even better is the 1988 three-issue miniseries that leads into the series.
The Best Of Walt Disney Comics 1944 looks like a great way to read otherwise unaffordable Golden Age books.
This has been a fun trip Mike, and good luck with the fund-raising - love that chocolate wheel, as we call them in Australia.
Comics all the way not junk 🫵👍✌️ thought the gaming wheel u picked up was cool too, noise included!
This is a good episode. I love yardsales. I usually don't find anything, however, been lucky enough to find a few good books. Hero for Hire #1, She Hulk #1, Batman 423, Ghost Rider #2 and Harbinger #1.
Very nice! It looks like all of those Supes/Doomsday books (pre-Superman 75), including the JLA 69, are all newsstand copies. If they're in good condition, they're worth something! Nice finds!
I love the walking dead show but unfortunately haven’t read the comics but I plan to! But also some awesome pickups like those Batman and Superman keys, great hunting job!
I started reading The Walking Dead well before the TV show ever came out and I love this series I definitely recommend reading it before you watch it I think you will really enjoy the comic The characters show so much growth throughout the entirety of the run
Thanks Mike, I’m excited to dig in!
Not too many comics I'm into in this batch, but that wheel is amazing.
Some cool finds, for sure! Shadow of the Bat #1 is a key and a great read too. I think it was a 5 or 6 part story, though! I wonder if the Bagley signature was just early in the signing session or at the end of life for the gold pen? :D Nothing worse than someone 'discovering' their signature didn't come out clean after putting pen to paper. :(
Check the death of Superman books again. It looks like a number of them are newsstand editions, which have a bit of a premium since the print numbers were low on all comics by 1993. Also, for an odd turn, the TPB Death of Superman is *also* a newsstand edition! The direct edition has the bleeding S logo and yours has the UPC bars!
Great book finds but I’m REALLY happy you got that wheel. As soon as I saw it in your footage I said “glad I’m not there, I’d buy that and I don’t even need it.” Lol, great minds, happy to see it behind you. Talk to you soon man
Great vid. You're gonna love those early Dead titles. I have the entire series in hardcover and those early ones are a lot of fun.
Great hunt Mike! Love that wheel, you should use it to do a giveaway or something 😜.
Hey, Mike. Since you like fantasy, GoT, and comic books, have you read any Berserk? I think it'd be up your alley if you haven't yet.
I actually have some Berzerk it I haven’t read them yet. Maybe I’ll do that soon!
I used to have a cap gun like that. It came with a Lone Ranger mask and hat.
17:28 When you moved that Wheel of Fortune, I noticed the Art Adams X-Men picture in the back. Is that signed by him? I must have missed that video.
I think that cyberspace 3000 is from the brief UK Marvel line they ran in the early 90s.
Yes it is signed, I had it signed by him and Chris Claremont about a month ago. Check out my recent video on Terrificon if you want to see it better!
@@lunchmoneycomics Noice.
(☞゚∀゚)☞
Always like seeing other things you grab. Keep it up.
Thanks Mike! Love watching you pick up books.Good luck with TWD. Book is better than the show. IMO
Slotted screws on the gaming wheel... maybe pre 1937.
Really enjoy your channel! Thanks for the content.
I've been looking for cap guns for my 3 year old son
That wheel looks awesome!!!
I'm like you. I've never seen an episode of the walking dead.
