I loved the short M-O-W train.
I like the idea of operating a track-cleaner car in front. If you think about it, not only would it clean the tracks, but it could possibly alert other modelers of any trouble spots that require additional cleaning should the locomotive stall.

Dan, great video again. You might try shimming up the couplers so they are level with the engine couplers.
    Keep on training!!

Thanks Flagman!! Yes, it’s definitely going to need a little tweaking. It’s perfect with my Geeps, but that darned switcher!! Haha. Thanks so much for watching, it’s very much appreciated! 👍🏼

I have a BLI loco or two whose couplers are a pain to get level with the rest of my stuff. I think I even used a kadee red washer to shim one down but it's not quite enough. Yet using a shank to lower it, it'd be way too low. Every manufacturer has their quirks.
For now I just avoid hooking up a certain flat car whose coupler is a bit low because that particular combination will decouple in the mountain at the apex.

Yes, you’re right. I have some older cars with the draft boxes connected to the trucks that are problematic. Getting the kinks worked out can be challenging for sure! I have noticed that the BLI switcher definitely has an issue with both front and rear couplers. They seem to have excessive play in them as I showed in that video about dealing with sticking couplers. Thanks for the comments Tom, much appreciated! 👍🏼

Thanks for answering many questions I had on my mind! I found the road striping video from 2 yrs. ago, believe it or not, it's called "Road Striping, Ground Throws and Vintage Trains"!

Hi! Just an update on my layout. I began to glue the ballast onto the existing tracks and all railway has been glued down with (silicon glue gun). I will send pictures if I have more of a finish state, but I was back in Hungary during the summer holiday and I'm back in Cairo. I'm working on the layout on max speed till school begins and I will move onto year 11 when I will have my IGCSE exams in may and june so this school year is going to be tough and want to finish as much as possible now in the 2 weeks before school. I hope everyone had a great summer and time passes very quickly.

Hi Brett, thank you! Yes I believe all of the required pieces are available with easy track. You can get a pdf of the GVL plans at their website, and it has the track plan with all required pieces on the back. I’d refer to that, and then make sure you can get them all. Let me know if you do please. Thanks! 👍🏼

Hi, thanks for watching. Here is part one of a two-part series where I expanded the yard on the right side, where my fueling station is now. Check those two out, and I’ll go back and see if there are some videos I did on the whole front yard expansion. I’ll update you here. 👍🏼

@@DansGrandValley TY so much, Dan. That really helped me a lot. It was nice when I found your channel. I'd been searching and looking in to how to get started, but, track layout, foam board, and maybe bit of lack of imagination as to what I wanted to do all came to a stop when I found your channel and the GVL kit, etc.. Now, I feel confident in proceeding. I loved the mod of your yard which brings me to a question I think I need help trying to figure out. Please keep in mind, I am as green as can be, but I am pretty creative and love working with my hands. My question...
      - I am wanting to do away with the kit's mini-yard (no track in that area). I'd like to add more town there. Do you have any advice on how to stop the track to the kit's mini-yard? Thank you again! I love your channel and I bet many others do as well.
      David

@@davidrr62 David, thank you! I’m so glad my channel can help you out, that’s what it’s all about. Helping everyone get into the hobby! To answer your question, what I would do is eliminate the left switch at the front of the layout that switches off to that siding, and also eliminate the 90° cross where it crosses the main line. You can replace the switch with a regular 9” straight, and you can replace the cross with a 1 1/2” straight. Atlas sells all the small pieces, in fact they have a little kit that comes with several of each piece from 1/2” or 3/4” up to 2” I believe. Then you just don’t lay risers there for the tracks, just lay flat foam board for more building area. I hope that helps. Please feel free to reach out anytime if you have more questions.
