    You're videos needs a bit of more showcase of the product, all view round, sound check, display showcase, more info placed on the screen instead of saying it out loud! Definitely good quality, confident voice and clearly explained. Pretty good where this is going.

      Hey, thanks for watching and subscribing! I hear ya and we're working on doing more text overlay. We've been playing around with the software for the last couple of months to get better / faster at it (if you see any of my shorts on TikTok for example on my business channel you'll see captions and text overlay way more than on here). Now that we've got it down, you'll start seeing more on these reviews!

    Thanks for the great review. This laptop is really nice. I just wish it had an extra USB A port and a full-sized SD card slot.

      I can live without the USB-A although I get that it would be useful, but the SD Card slot is absolutely needed. All machines positioned as pro level should come with an SD card slot, I agree.

    On sale at Best Buy today I just purchased the 13th gen Spectre x360 (16-F2013dx) it has the i7-13700H with 512gb SSD, 16gb ram, 3K+ IPS LED display with Iris xe graphics and a 5mp camera. But I can't find any reviews on it. Not sure if it's a good one? What are your thoughts?

    • @mikedropstech
      @mikedropstech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I reviewed the 12th gen last year and it was a nice machine. I haven’t seen the new one but I’m guessing it’s just a spec bump and most things stayed the same? They’re generally well made laptops with solid screens. Battery life might be thought on a 16” powerhouse but let me know how you like it!

      I purchased the same computer at Best Buy also, and on sale. I love it. I had purchased an Envy but the Spectre went on sale the next day and was able to trade up. Happy I did due to the Envy's only a 250 nit screen and Evo I7 chip in the Spectre and 400 Nit. Only a couple of hundred more for a much better laptop.

    Good evening maybe you can help me out I have the same exact computer brand new but I got us a gift two months ago. I'm pretty good with computers and cameras and all that kind of stuff. So this is crazy there's that slot on the right side or left side for a SD micro card well sure enough I wanted to transfer my pictures from my tablet that are on the SD micro card to the new Hp blue computer. Well sure enough I popped the little SD micro in the slot and just pushed it in lightly. So it pops in but when I went to go see if it read the card. It didnt i tried it twice it didn't read the card. So what I tried to do it lightly and pushed it in with my one finger. So it to pop it out cuz that's how they come out lightly. well when I go to push the card lightly to pop out the whole micro SD card went right inside the computer. So now it's totally inside the computer you can't even see it you see the slot opening only that is open. But the little micro is stuck in there and I can't get to it or out now. So I don't know if it's a defect the slot. I didn't want to send it back to HP because I only have one copy of that micro SD card with all those pictures. So maybe you can help me plrase In what to do? I guess I can disassemble the back cover and maybe try to get it out that way? I would appreciate anything you can tell me or advise me to try. thank you so much Rocky sorry for the long message

    • @mikedropstech
      @mikedropstech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dude, that sucks! I don’t know what to tell you. If you can’t get it out with tweezers I’d probably try and sweet talks the geek squad folks at Bestbuy or maybe a local repair shop. If you do feel comfortable opening it up yourself it should be pretty easy with the screws on the bottom and hopefully it’ll just be sitting there 😔

    My last HP Spectre the letters came off the keyboard, the keyboard stopped working well, some sections broken. So why am I considering a Spectre again? I'd like to turn off trackpads, I don't use them...oldster who started with 386 in the 80's. We still like a mouse.

    Fantastic review. Question, so if a 16 inch is too big, is a 13 too small? That is what I am starting to think. 14 is too much of a compromise.

    • @mikedropstech
      @mikedropstech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a tough one. 16 is definitely workstation territory so I think for me at least, 14 is as small as I'd go for portability but 15 is probably the sweet spot. The XPS 15 is a great size (bordering on too big) and the Surface Laptop Studio at 14.4 is awesome.

    Hey Mike! Did you mention that the battery life of your HP Spectre X360 is around 6 to 7 hours daily? One of the main reasons I purchased this device was becasue it gives up to 18 hours of battery life, however, after using a couple of times, I feel like it only gives me around 7 to 10 hours.

    • @mikedropstech
      @mikedropstech  ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought I’d mentioned a little about battery life but I’ll double check. It’s tough for me because I can’t always keep devices for too long to really use them for a solid battery test and I don’t like the whole ‘I p,aged a TH-cam video on repeat for 10 hours to check out battery life’ because that’s not real world usage. That all,said, it seems MOST windows laptops get around 6-8 hours of real world usage for the most part so you’re right in the range considering it’s a big, powerful device.

    Bought one of these today, same exact spec as in your video, and I'm currently watching videos to confirm my purchase, haha. In all honesty though, I had a situation where my work laptop went to shit so I had to buy something literally today and after mulling over it for a long time I decided on this one because it was $200 off (was only $1400, which was nice) and it seemed to check all the boxes for what I do. Really wish I could have waited it out for the 12th gen to become available but that wasn't in the cards, hopefully they come out within the return window so I can swap, if not it's all good, it's still plenty useable for what I'm doing.
    I was pleasantly surprised to see the pen/sleeve as well! Build quality seems decent. I looked at the XPS but the only thing available to purchase now (like I said, really needed it now) were models well above my desired price range, though they did seem to have better overall fit/finish when playing with them.
    Anyway, nice review! Went ahead and subbed.

      @@mikedropstech fair comment though. You need to interact with the product more. What do you mean by battery life being 'pretty decent'? How many hours at what brightness and usage? What does webcam image look like? What are some of the key benchmarks? How good is the screen?

      @mikedropstech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you watch some of my more recent videos I think you'll find we're tackling more of the product than we used to :). The goal for me wasn't to be another super techy reviewer as there's already some great ones out there. It was more to just bring another voice to the conversation around a particular device. That's why we're still tinkering with the level of detail we share on objective things, but subjective things like battery life will always be tougher as everyone's use case affects it so wildly.
