I am glad that you found your grail pen and got it customised and working to your preferences. This new series of yours and your reviews of fountain pens keeps me watching your channel. It is a good thing that your wife saw this pen. I hope you ask her to come back to do some reviews the chemistry between the two of you is a joy to behold.
Stephen you have to be very proud of yourself as you own this brilliant fountain pen!!! I personally believe that this is one of the most beautiful pens you have ever reviewed!!! I am a huge fan of the viscositi pens too, but in my country I can't find any of the viscositi pens!!!
Stunning pen! And though normally I wouldn't go for gold trim, I don't reckon it would work well with any other color. The gold compliments the tobacco color so well. Thanks Stephen!
Love watching you and the personal collection absolutely makes me giddy to see how much you love your favorites I must say it was watching your videos that lead me to collect and truly appreciate a fine writing instrument .. thank you
Thank you very much for this wonderful series about your personal pen collection! May I ask why you continue to acquire these really temperamental Visconti pens?
I'm loving this series so far, and I enjoy how enthusiastic you are about this pen. You mention that you fell for this model from an older video you saw, would you consider this to be your first real 'grail pen' or if not then which was the first model to really grab your attention and make you think "I'm going to have to own this pen at some point"? Thanks for the continuously excellent content!
I have fallen in love with enjoying your reviews. In fact, I only look forward and watch your reviews. I must admit, I have fallen back in love with Visconti fountain pens and I believe you also have reviewed Delta DolceVita, but I am unsure. In any case, I was happy to purchase a Delta Dolcevita and it is coming up on Halloween again so I will be in style. I love your personal favorite Visconti. I own a Mazzi. It is of the Homo Sapiens, a limited edition of 388 and was painted by Mazzi. Thanks again for an interesting review.
Also well done!!! Your videos are awesome and very informative!!! I've learned a lot from your video!!! Thank you very much!!! You are doing an excellent job!!!
Thanks Doc - I wish I could say that cleared things up - thatsa hell of a long name for FP ink! Zat how they roll in the Netherlands I guess? Love your stuff man! Really enjoying your personal pen stories - and tell gourmetpens I am shooing kitties off the laptop 24/7!
do you have a link to the nibmeister? I keep getting faulty, misaligned nibs from Visconti to the point where I'm put off on buying them in the future. I'm now stuck with a HS Dark Age that doesn't write well at all.
sbrebrown any time! Keep up the good work, love your videos and your approach. As for Mike, he has two of my Visconti and I know they're in great hands.
Personally I believe if a few people moved over from the "It better have a gold nib" hill to the "it better write out of the box" hill the world might be a little more enjoyable for everyone.
That is one gorgeous pen! Tell me this big fella, you must, like the rest of us, occasionally damage the finish on your really nice pens? I only have three and I've damaged the finish a little on two of them. The finish on some pen fittings is quite polished and I find them to be really susceptible to even the barest knocks. It makes me almost weep.
+markdbenson75 Well, what exactly do you mean by damage? I have had lacquered pens (e.g. Italix) chip a bit, as have some Chinese pens. I've also had pens develop micro scratches, which is almost unavoidable. I think that's it though.
sbrebrown well, more like scuffing I mean. I've dropped the caps (not very far to be fair) of my Van Gogh and my Pro Gear just on a table, or banged the pen slightly against a cup for example, and it has damaged the polished sheen on the clips. I dropped my Pro Gear cap last night and had to order another cap because it scuffed the rhodium plate on the clip. Maybe I'm just both clumsy and really particular about my pens!
Great review, Stephen, and your enthusiasm is wonderful. The pen is majestic, but I've never been a fan of Visconti's billboard clip. That and some of the problems with their nibs has steered me away from even much interest in them.
When expensive pens like this need a nibmeister to tune them just to work properly, that really disgusts me that the maker would take such little care in the product in the first place :/
Love this series.
I agree, the gold trim looks nice on warm-colored pens.
Gorgeous pen. As always your enthusiasm makes the review shine.
Sue Anderson Thank you very much!

That pen is also one of my crowned jewels in my pen collection. Not the exact one but the master.. beautiful
Such a beautiful pen. This is why I got into the pen hobby. Glad your pleased with it.
Stunning pen! And though normally I wouldn't go for gold trim, I don't reckon it would work well with any other color. The gold compliments the tobacco color so well. Thanks Stephen!
Beautiful pen; a charming wee essay. Thank you!
I don't usually gravitate to brown or warm toned pens, but that Tobacco is exceptionally gorgeous. I have similar enthusiasm for my Visconti OM Luna.
What ink was that? It looked great.
The nib is the most vital part of any Fountain pen. From the video it seems that the nib is ultra smooth.
I have coveted this particular pen since seeing it in your....GOAT?... video about a year ago. Beautiful pen.
Love watching you and the personal collection absolutely makes me giddy to see how much you love your favorites I must say it was watching your videos that lead me to collect and truly appreciate a fine writing instrument .. thank you
Yeah it's really difficult to find drop dead gorgeous pen. It nearly took me 3 years to finally own one. And I love it.
Thank you very much for this wonderful series about your personal pen collection! May I ask why you continue to acquire these really temperamental Visconti pens?
I'm excited for this series!

+Adam Atherley Yes, this was definitely my first grail pen.
Really liked this one, I also like this series

Carolyn Young Thank you for the kind words! I have indeed reviewed the Dolcevita. Those are wonderful pens.

I absolutely love that pen!
How do you find nibmeister in my area?
Quick writing sample 4:17
Doctor Brown - love the series! Couldn't catch the name of the ink used - can you please elucidate?
Daniel V Mayan P.W. Akkerman Dutch Masters Gele Oker van Frans

Does she have any cat wrangling tips?

Karl Weaver Thanks for the link, I hadn't had time yet!

I agree completely. I can't accept that so many people buy very expensive pens that come with regularly crappy nib performance.

+markdbenson75 I don't think I have really experienced that 😀
markdbenson75 where did you order the cap from?
sbrebrown also, if you're feeling brave, most micro scratches and scuffing can be polished out
Thank you, Stephen. I am glad that you like it. Not for me. The metal piston knob and section ruin it for me even just in appearance.
No, Stephen has a fondness for Visconti I just don't share. But I understand his predilection.
Beautiful pen , how much do they retail for ? if that's not a rude question !
+Hungry Boy I think about $800 for this model.
That ink might not be ideal to show off the pen, but it shades beautifully...
Sacha Kahn Yes, it's a very nice yellow
The ink looks excellent. Which ink is it?
Great review, Stephen, and your enthusiasm is wonderful. The pen is majestic, but I've never been a fan of Visconti's billboard clip. That and some of the problems with their nibs has steered me away from even much interest in them.

I'd probably cut off my pinky toe for that pen.
