One of the darkest pages of history that never have been so well articulated as this. I was not yet born when these inhumane acts happened but I somehow still relate and as I visualize everything, I cannot hold back my tears😢😢😢.Once again thank you Taffy for yet another balanced revelation of our history.Painful as it is, I pray this kind of closure is helping someone out there to get the answers and healing they need.

Who can ever forget those gun shots from Entumbane. I was young but I can still hear them like it's an hour ago. Keep up the good work Taffy. Indeed others can learn from you. This wrong needs to be corrected. Siyabonga
@KudakwasheBrianMuchini-fd4si i cant agree more. I witnessed entumbane as a young boy seeing the sky light up with gun shots. The trauma cannot be described.
Taffy ,your series on Gugurahundi are just excellent. A fair analysis of the events at the time. Wish you could proceed and write a book on these historic events that shaped what later became our Zimbabwe today.
This narrative is skewed not factual a mixture of truth and lies. There were no dissidents in Matabeleland but ex Soldiers who were running from persecution from the Mugabe government, the so called dissidents were Mugabe 's people who he planted to justify the innocent civilians, how many dissidents did they catch or killed? Zipra Soldiers were well trained the fifth brigade wouldn't stand a chance against them. There was super Zapu dissidents who were planted by Mugabe and the Southafrican government this was all a staged to prevent UMKHONTO WeSizwe from operating in Matabeleland. Mugabe worked with the apartheid government of Southafrica he was never comfortable running the country because he was a puppet of the West imposed on Zimbabweans to serve the whites interests. Let the Ndebele tell the true history no this one that has been wavered down. Listen to the true narrative of the Gugurahundi victims on TH-cam by Zenzele Ndebele everything is covered by those ext Zipra forces and the victims that survived no propaganda please sikhathele ngamanga aseMpumalanga.

1980 we needed someone like Nelson Mandela who was suppose to unite people not Mugabe who separated people through tribalism and hate speech.. we will be far if we had united at first
The problem was to go to war without that unity as black so Smith saw the tribalism as a weapon and it worked the moment when Ndabaningi Sithole betrayed ZAPU everything went offline

You have gotten another subscriber to your channel. Thank you Taffy for such a detailed and well researched true and only history of our beloved country. Keep up the good work
A Ndebele nurse at a local hospital kumusha kwedu went on holiday to his rural home in Matabeleland. He never came back. Rumours circulating that time said he was killed allegedly for supplying medical supplies to dissidents. He was just a nurse who got along with the community he served. No one knew if the allegations were true. He was my brother’s friend. 😢

Rutendo said Gukurahundi was a necessary evil to deal with Ndebele tribalism....yet here you are learning that effectively Zanu created the conditions all in the name of destroying opposition in Zimbabwe to create a one party state!

And we were foolishly made to believe those lies Vanhu Ava they have always wanted to get rid of rivals it’s all coming out clear now ,thanksTaffy for this revelation

@@Elevate_Clips Beats me, but this individual has been a calamity for the nation. Despite this, his divisive and genocidal politics, which targeted whites and Ndebele people as enemies, gained traction and support from a significant portion of the population. Unfortunately, his legacy continues to overshadow his own failures and the devastating impact on Zimbabwe's socio-cultural, economic, and political landscape.
The delays in dealing with the Gukurahundi victims and inquest and possible compensation is going to cause irreparable harm to the nation at large. Most witnesses are now dead and the few remaining are now getting too old and may soon die. The economic situation is also causing some to flee the country. This is not good at all.
many shonas were also victims as they were targeted and killed by the ndebeles during the same era in Bulawayo. why do you people choose to ignore that fact
@@globalgreenhouse4424 I didn't choose or ignore; if you read my comment again you will notice that it doesn't attack any particular group or tribe. Some ZANLA cadres fell victims of the ZIPRA cadres and vice versa. The system was simply supposed to give a platform for closure at a very early stage through a commission of enquiry which would deal with direct evidence from witnesses, victims and the alleged perpetrators. Those who were supposed to be convicted and penalised accordingly should not die before facing their sentences. Victims also need to be compensated during their life time. Now how do you make Gushungo and/or uMdlalawethu accountable in their graves? Most victims and perpetrators are dying through passage of time.

It's so sad ,you can't narrate the Gugurahundi without naming me 😢,I was a little boy who buried my grand dad at 6 years in Jimila,so terrifying to witness
Keep up the good work in your series Taffy. For sure the struggle war was absolutely necessary to get started since Mr Smith did not want to sit down and have dialogue with ZANU and ZAPU. In Ndabaningi Sithole's word, "We (ZANU) have decided to use the language Mr. Smith understands." The 'language' referred to fighting with guns because that is what the Smith army was using. Hence sending ZANU cadres for training in Egypty China initially. For sure, like you say, none of the three ZANLA, Rhodesia Front and ZIPRA won the war outrightly. All three gradually became fatigued by the constant killing of each other. All three sides admitted by saying taneta nekuurayana.
Thanks Taffy the man for a balanced view of history...siyabonga

I agree with you ,,as old as I'm some of these stories from our history didn't know them

Siyabonga
Zanu pf is evil 😢
Some of us are still suffering the trauma of what we witnessed as little girls.
It's unfortunate that the people of Zimbabwe view each other as enemies, the Shona and Ndebele, yet they are all victims
@KudakwasheBrianMuchini-fd4si i cant agree more. I witnessed entumbane as a young boy seeing the sky light up with gun shots. The trauma cannot be described.
Entumbane is the killing of Shonas by Ndebeles
Listen to the true narrative of the Gugurahundi victims on TH-cam by Zenzele Ndebele everything is covered by those ext Zipra forces and the victims that survived no propaganda please sikhathele ngamanga aseMpumalanga.

thank you for making not to forget. zanu has being good at trying to make us forget important things.
@michaelmthembu2691 kwakufuneka a strong leader even in Sa they had similar situation like us zulus and Xhosas but Mandela wakwazi ukuyimela Inkinga but our own president decided to kill his own people using tribal card.. and lento ngeke iPhele

Good video but you should also cover extensively about the damages the dissidents did
Then he should also cover extensively the atrocities committed by 5th Brigade. I found the docuseries very balanced, well thought out. Not seeking to merely blame but to inform

Taffy never disappoint
The delays in dealing with the Gukurahundi victims and inquest and possible compensation is going to cause irreparable harm to the nation at large. Most witnesses are now dead and the few remaining are now getting too old and may soon die. The economic situation is also causing some to flee the country. This is not good at all.
many shonas were also victims as they were targeted and killed by the ndebeles during the same era in Bulawayo. why do you people choose to ignore that fact
Do u know anything about condone and search on Byo?
I like the way dig in your stories bro it's so detailed

Zanu was never good .
