To me, the original GTA 3 still looks better than the one from the Definitive Edition with all the patches. And it's not just nostalgia. I started with GTA Vice City, then played GTA San Andreas, and only then played GTA 3, and yet to me, GTA 3 looks the best of them all. Everything just seems so atmospheric and real... When I was playing GTA Vice City or GTA San Andreas as a kid, I always had the feeling of it being just a cartoonish game. And the Definitive Edition made it look cartoonish... I mean, just look at 4:05... The vibe is totally lost! And yes, when it comes to the night, it got really better thanks to shaders and the dynamic lighting, but during the day, it's way worse. The original GTA 3, pretty much always looked and felt very real. I would even say it felt more real than GTA 4 sometimes, despite the low polygons and the lack of dynamic shadows.
The 3 games improved a lot with the patch, SA and VC atmosphere are beautiful now, but GTA 3 still too colorful, but Rockstar is working on a new patch, maybe they bring back the OG dark atmosphere.
@NTEDOG561 not only Claude but Tommy, CJ and all the side characters are looking horrible in this defective garbage, Tommy don't look like a mafia boss anymore, he look like a 15 year old school boy. you can't turn a turd into gold, it's that simple
I still wish they made his hair darker like the original and slightly fixed his face
The beauty of original is the grey weather, the definitive is a lot colourful.
I wish there was more fog and darkness in the remake of GTA III.
Remaster***
Even with the new patch it looks WAY too colourful.
the classic lighting in gta 3 de looks like the lighting from gta lcs psp version
