This is very cool! I have a PS2 so i can play the GTA's but it's good that more people can play GTA3 Now about the games, they aren't in my highest priority, probably because of the frustating bits, i'm playing persona 3 fes and super metroid, rare ocassion where i play 2 games at same time, this is because i'm playing a 90 hour jrpg

Make the port to look like it was a Beta Build of GTA 3 for Dreamcast just like Half-Life 1 Sep 10 2000 while in the end it was just a modification of this port

I cant answer that when it's done to think this alpha needs 10 beta releases to get to RC1 so.. Which is normal Retail might have 20 or 30 beta rc1 rc2 etc.. Before ever pressing for retail.. That is why it's little silly for some going it's this or that.. For an alpha this one of the best of all time. It really shows lack of understanding on many of the posts i have seen about how us dev's go there builds.. DNCD3.0 has had 1000's of builds to get to 3.0 ..
I disabled everything in the GFX menu and lowered the draw distance. I usually get around 25-55 FPS. It's very playable. I'm also running it off GDEmu, so faster load times and bigger game disc.
Dont need to lower draw distance that has no effect on speed only memory.. Just lower peds one notch no blur and no limit and get even higher fps.. Draw distance really does not effect speed i have seen at all.. Watch the vmu stats on the screen where not hitting max dc anything.. Getting same 25fps to 60fps using a cdr when it's dummied when doing these settings.. The stutter is not the cdr it's blocking bug on sfx peds talking..And it will be fixed..
It should be a cdr is slower then a real gdrom disc.. Mode is emulation a real gdrom disc.. A cdr is max 6x speed a real gdrom retail disc is 12x speed..
GTA VC should run better than III. The game was much better optimised. San Andreas is more complicated. Not only does it hardly fit on a CD, but the game has many more textures and streams a lot. The ps2 itself had trouble running it and relied on post-processing to hide the draw distance limitations. Yes, the yellow filter was used to hide defects, which is why it was left out on PC and XBOX.
@@Alefjj Decompiled code has nothing to do with the PS2; no optimizing from it carries over here and on this… You know this started out with a purple screen, no effects, no sound, and ran only a 32MB Modded console. None of the base code optimization was doing anything. This is all the gang's new, faster submission pipeline, and the idea is never even used in a DC retail game. This is not the PS2 version; it has no optimizing from that. Anyway, none of that would help the DC; it is totally not the same; in fact, it would hurt it. Also why it does not work on any DC emulators that are not emulating Dreamcast hardware but more docs and official SDK simulators… This is all new code and GCC 14.2, faster math, new routines, and major optimization of streaming and sound by the gang. What went into this to get it to this stage is more than hard work; it was mastery. Included new texture compression VQ encoding, all legal, all non-official... Kos homebrew SDK for the last year has been upgraded and optimized, and problems solved 100's of PRs profiling and work went into not just this but the SDK under it. Many times by many including rockstar back in the day said this was impossible ..

There is new port of half life all together a great dev is working on and it's even online :) Not much interest in the HL stuff i was doing sadly no support ..It would take away all my time that people have paid for me to do other work..That's not to say i will not get to it.. But things HL on dc are looking right up :) with online HL play :)

Maps on PC have more details; also, the memory pools and some other stuff are higher. The DC version being based on the PC version means that more stuff is being rendered on the streets, which involves collisions and extra physics. The dummy file was used to move the game code to the outside of the disk. This would allow the data to be read faster as it can stream information quicker from the outside.. Ok guess i do a video .. What O/s are you using..

This is so fucking excellent. I remember when I had this for the PC, there was a folder I could add custom music files to so they played on the radio. Do you think this would be possible? Cheers again for all the hard work put into this project and others. Top shagger.
It just works as far as I know. Only the first save slot works and it's pretty picky about VMUs. I wasn't able to use my 3rd party 4-in-1 VMU. It also doesn't like 3rd party controllers.
@@hoobaguy I have the cleared file as well. What happens when you try to save? It just freezes or the save doesn't work? When I tried to use a 3rd party VMU it would freeze in the menus and freeze when I try to save. One of my Sega brand VMUs did the same thing. The second one I tried worked.
It does save need a normal sega vmu with 80 blocks free it does not check if you have free space watch streamable.com/5tfw8f NO all slots work it's space on the vmu..

That's how I used to burn them around 2003, only the lowest burning speed X4. Wonder what program people are using now.

With legal src code just about all ps2 and others could be ported yes but you need the team and such not going to get that are you..

How'd you get the saving to work?
It just works as far as I know. Only the first save slot works and it's pretty picky about VMUs. I wasn't able to use my 3rd party 4-in-1 VMU. It also doesn't like 3rd party controllers.
