I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, these are always some of my favorites to watch. I always try to imagine what these areas were once like. The mural, gas station and general store probably all have such great stories to tell!
I really enjoy exploring these old abandoned places especially the old jail and seeing the nice scenery of Florida You, Cris, Bella and family have a Merry Christmas.🎄🕊️🐕🎀
Thanks to you I have learned about all of the places I didn't know about in Florida and hope to enjoy whenever I go out exploring (I live in Florida 😊)@@TampaJay
Merry Christmas Jay. Thanks for the roadside video. I know your going through alot right now. I can tell from your last few videos. I'm praying that it all gets better soon 🙏 ❤. Hope your grandfather is doing better 🙏 ❤️. Much love. ❤
Thank you for bringing back the roadside attractions my favorite thing not so much of a horror person but I love these kind of shows ❤ Merry Christmas to you and Chris to Girl, was curious to see if one day you'll do a trip to mayport up there in Jacksonville very interesting little town I was born in Jacksonville I used to love to go to Mayport they used to have a ferry there that went across the river , if you're ever up that way would you do a show on it thank you😊
I like old towns like this. Makes you wonder what life was like before it got like this. Probably all of the original residents have moved or passed on. Excellent video.
By the way Jay can't wait to start watching your Halloween videos they so funny and great to watch merry Christmas and happy new year to you and Chris the girl love you both ❤️ 😘 💕 ♥️ 💗 💖 😊😅😂
Glad to see you out and about in OooOold Florida..we still play Mayo out at Bronson High School in Levy county, to which I graduated from back in 92, our High school, has been playing their school for years. also as an aside that B&B breakfast was established in the same year as YELLOWSTONES spinoff series is set in, "1883", thought i'd throw that in for any fans here, like myself.
Thanks for another fine video Jay with all the history and interesting things to see, as usual. that suspended bride is something indeed, especially those cable bundles... Have a great one and a Merry Christmas :)
Love the Roadside Attractions and Abandoned Places series (and all your other videos also). Wishing you, CTG & your families a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.🎄🥳
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES. This video has a little bit of a lot info. Really enjoyed it very much. I think that breezeway in the old cabins are called dog trots. They cooked on one side and lived on the other. Maybe a fan will tell if this is true. I can tell you who wrote Suwannee River was Stephen Foster. I came from Bardstown KY and that's where My Old Kentucky Home is located. This year it was honored again most Beautiful Town in USA. When you have a chance, drop by that old town that is so full of history and famous distilleries. Also has outdoor drama about Stephen Foster. Beautiful!!
Your so good at what you do showing us old buildings evening Jay you always do great video i always enjoy watching them and take to awesome places merry Christmas to you 😊😅😂❤❤❤❤
i love to see abandoned places thats why i subscribe to many channels to see american beauty . and i love to learn english as well. this time learned some words such as awning , and bay door .❤
Since you went through Trenton, Florida, it always reminds me of Sgt. Noel Ramirez and Deputy Taylor Lindsey. EOW 04/19/18. May they forever rest in peace 🇺🇸💙
I enjoyed your video. I am still pretty new to Florida. Been here for about 3 years and sit at home all the time. I hope I can look at your videos and be inspired to explore and retrace some of your steps.
I kept meaning to recommend that you visit Mayo one day. The Turner family had reunions at Advent Christian Village in Dowling Park for many years. Some relatives still gather there, but not as many since 2001 due to the younger generations losing interest. Anyway, several of us would drive over to Mayo and go to the Great Southern Biscuit Company there for fantastic biscuits and other food. Sadly, they closed about 5 years ago. It was in the building you got your bubble tea at. You did not show it but there was a thrift shop across the street from it we all enjoyed perusing as well. I took lots of pictures around town of the old cabin, courthouse, and that bed & breakfast. I also love that suspension bridge, never seen it before. My husband, son and I had a family tradition of singing Stephen Foster's "Way Down Upon the Swannee River" every time we went on a bridge across it. Funny thing, during the Turner reunions we had a tradition of tubing down the Swannee at Dowling Park and never saw a gator.
Another back roads adventure, great! I go on Google maps and see where the different locations are. So i can actually see areas on the map to follow along were you are going, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family Jay!
Flamingooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooos. Happy Halloween, to yourself and Chris the girl. I like your roadside attractions, brilliant...one thing I have learnt watching your vids that if there's water then there's gators.
I LOVE these videos!! SO interesting!! Thank you for doing these! Would love to travel and see some of these places! Hope you and Cris have a wonderful Christmas!! 🎄 ❤
The Swanee River folk song entitled 'Old Folks at Home' was written by Stephen Foster back in 1851. Since 1935, it has been the official song representing the state of Florida.
Thank God for Roadside Attractions again!! Sorry but I gotta say it! I'm so sick of horror stuff, that's all we've been seeing since August! Halloween is about kids Trick or Treating, candy and parties!
Happy you enjoy this content. Whether you like what I put out there or don’t. I don’t care. I am always going to create videos for me. I love what i love. I appreciate people joining me tho.. always have, always will. much ahead. Merry Christmas.
Find the old post office in el-jobean Florida. Do one on that and the rail car and building across the street as well. Great history.. the old post office you can grab lunch at too. They have a small museum attached to it.
My sons lived in MAYO AT THE LE CHATEAUE. They lived upstairs in apartments..over a year...I heard its 100 years old..The big green 2 story..i lived down the road and shopped at MAYO groc..less than 3 years ago..the MAYO DINER JUST CLOSE TO THE UDDER I WAS TOLD THE BIG OAK FELL ON IT AND CRUSHED IT..they had good food
Who wrote "Way Down Upon the Swannee River." Ed Norton. Check out the Honeymooners episode when Ralph was a contestant on a Name That Tune type show. Inreality, Stephen Foster wrote it.
I live in north Florida next your going to head this I can give you information on things you were really close to that you didn’t know like the location of Hicks town swamp 😉
I drive that road in the beginning every day on my way to work at Lancaster Correctional Institution outside of Trenton. Oh, and it's Gilchrist, not Gilcrest😅
44:17 I think it was Francis Scott Key for way down upon the Swannee river....edit: i was wrong, it was Steven Foster. Dang i for got my Florida history they taught us in grammar school.
I live in Live Oak. You would enjoy seeing the painted bridge here. A retired Suwannee river bridge that has been painted many time by graffiti artist. Kinda gory but On the other side of the bridge is an abandon building that serial killer Ted Bundy's last victim was found . The 17 mile North of Live Oak, the town of Jasper has the coolest old jail house that is haunted.
I’ve investigated this place many times! That Police car is from NY couple of cops were killed in there u can see the bullet holes still in it. I can get u in there for an overnight, My channel has some videos of the jail on there
@@TampaJayI did and I do love these! Well, I'm 69 and love history now! So, even though I don't like the horror videos, I do love these. I do love the paranormal and ghosts, too.
