To take out main gear, you need to take out opposite side small snap over the handle bearing. That snap is to hold bearing in position which is little tricky. So it will give you some room to move around main gear to take out. Good luck
The reason you can't get the gear out is a annoying little wire clip on the opposite side. I couldn't even get it out with picks I had to sharpen a paper clip lol
wonderful reel but not built for salt water fishing. mine started to bind up and i never dunked it. the drive shaft bering got rusty and scorched the sleeve going through it to the rotor. i cleaned it up but have to keep an eye on it . while it was open put extra oil on the berings and extra grease on the gears
Could I get some help, I have a daiwa crossfire LT reel and I recently took the bail arm off to clean it and now the bail arm will not close all the way and keeps lifting up a bit

What sizeis this reel ?
Is there a gasket on the bottom of the drag knob
yes
There should be a retainer wire on top of the right side bearings holding the drive shaft of the main gear, remove it & it should come out easily!
I am interested in an ultralight reel, and need your guidance. Which has more value: the Daiwa Revros or the Okuma Ceymar?
