The ratings were slipping and ITV wanted to spice up the show but buried it. Cilla hated the changes to the show, mainly because it stopped her interacting with the contestants and it became known the producers had plans to replace her if the show continued for a new series. Cilla put them right on the spot when she announced that she's quitting.
This new changed show is awful. Badly set out, and no were near as romantic and pure as the original. Contestants even sound fake. Cilla is amazing and she actually resigned live on air years ago because she didn't like the change and new concept, she is very clever and was right.
The first episodes I saw of this was in the 2000’s and I thought it was so atrocious and so obviously scripted, then I saw some from the 90’s and it was soo different no wonder people miss the 90’s

The old concept of the show was a lot nicer, This is cheap and vulgar.....Cilla is great nevetheless.
Can't be doing with arrogant Essex men, too full of themselves. Fancy themselves too much.
I turned in every week to check out Cilla's extensive wardrobe, she had great sense of style with an enviable figure. Very much missed.
