Every time you open a locker the quality of your boat is clear to see. Details like the welds are true indicators of the builders skill. A production plastic boat would never have got so much support so quickly. Your videos are a treat because I love to see enthusiasm for good things done well. Hi Joao! I used to work as a dental hygienist in an office with a large Portuguese /Brazilian community. I had a patient named Joao who told everyone to call him "Joe". I had him teach me how to correctly pronounce his name, so I could greet him properly whenever he came in! BTW, you both speak English very well. Interestingly enough, the people who criticize usually only speak one language.

your english is 1000% better than my portugese so no worries about that in my book. i've had experience in shipyards. (oil drilling ship) it's ALWAYS a big mess and i'm ALWAYS the happiest when we leave. the "no-editing" format kind of grew on me. maybe not every week but once in a while i think would be nice in my opinion. something different at least. thanks for another dandy episode and continued good luck with your project.

This includes Motor Boats, Sail Boats, Motor Homes, or just a normal house, they all end up costing more than was first planned for. Love to see you doing new things. We are remodeling our house for the last 10 years. I have done the roof, the kitchen, added a second bathroom, made the first bath into a master bath, added a master closet and sliding glass doors. I know the excitement of getting just one more thing done. You guys are doing great. Love seeing your progress.
As long as the diesel doesn't contain bio additives and was treated for diesel bugs.. the storage time is almost unlimited... siphon some fuel from the bottom and have look before you choose to replace it... my money is on it still being just fine... especially since he filled the tank/tanks full... coming along nicely, looking forward to the next video...
You should empty the tank to clean the deposits in the bottom, but don’t throw it away: filter the diesel on the way out, in an empty 1000l container for example, and back in... it is called « polishing » the fuel.
22 years is a really long time, I would be cautious, watching for jellification, remove water and pollutants, add some lubrication oil and mix it with some new diesel.
Your passion is a joy to watch. It would be a dissapointment if you even considered selling now. Keep living the dream, and remember "it's not work if you enjoy it" 👍
hehe "no worries" sounds like such an Aussie thing to say - it's a very common phrase here. i too have retired early, but for medical reasons, so can't travel much anymore, so i live vicariously through you 😊

Thank you Duca, Roberta, and Jaoa. That was a lengthy, but very informative video. Your English is very good; not perfect, but very good. Anyone with a brain could understand you very well. Some people put their money in vacations and having all the modern conveniences. For now, you are putting your money in your boat and your container house. Nothing wrong with that. One day, the construction work will be done on the house and the boat will be refitted to your desires and specifications. (By the way, I agree with you that some of the things the previous owner didn't want you to do had to be done by you so that you may know YOUR boat. It's your's now and you can't just rely on somebody else's word that something is good. He hadn't put that boat in the water for 22 years. He hadn't turned over the engine for 5 years. He doesn't really know what's what anymore. All he knows is how things were the last time he actually used them. I hope all is as he said. But if, not, you need to know for yourselves because it is you who will be out there on the ocean depending on your boat to get you back to dry land.) Some day soon, you will be sailing the seas at your leisure and coming back to your container home nest until you are ready to sail the oceans blue again. So stay encouraged. All seems to be going well. Delays are to be expected. You do have a plan, but you are flexible, as you should be. To have hard and fast plans for something like this is a recipe for a lot of frustration and disappointment. Take care and be well. Hope you feel better soon Roberta.

You’re English is fine, and I grade writing in English. Why do I say it’s fine if it’s not perfect? You practice often. My Spanish is horrible, but it’s not my first language. B.O.A.T. = Bring Out Another Thousand; don't worry about the amount it will cost you to do the renovation on your boat, I've yet to see any posts about this type of thing without there being a major over spend or blowing out of the bubget. This includes Motor Boats, Sail Boats, Motor Homes, or just a normal house, they all end up costing more than was first planned for. Love to see you doing new things. We are remodeling our house for the last 10 years. I have done the roof, the kitchen, added a second bathroom, made the first bath into a master bath, added a master closet and sliding glass doors. As long as the diesel doesn't contain bio additives and was treated for diesel bugs.. the storage time is almost unlimited... siphon some fuel from the bottom and have look before you choose to replace it... my money is on it still being just fine... especially since he filled the tank/tanks full... coming along nicely, looking forward to the next video...

You should empty the tank to clean the deposits in the bottom, but don’t throw it away: filter the diesel on the way out, in an empty 1000l container for example, and back in... it is called « polishing » the fuel.
22 years is a really long time, I would be cautious, watching for jellification, remove water and pollutants, add some lubrication oil and mix it with some new diesel.
It’s hard to find a container to put 840 liters of diesel and then to put it back in place. I’m not sure if it would be possible to do

Thank you Duca, Roberta, and Jaoa. That was a lengthy, but very informative video. Your English is very good; not perfect, but very good. Anyone with a brain could understand you very well. Some people put their money in vacations and having all the modern conveniences. For now, you are putting your money in your boat and your container house. Nothing wrong with that. One day, the construction work will be done on the house and the boat will be refitted to your desires and specifications. (By the way, I agree with you that some of the things the previous owner didn't want you to do had to be done by you so that you may know YOUR boat. It's your's now and you can't just rely on somebody else's word that something is good. He hadn't put that boat in the water for 22 years. He hadn't turned over the engine for 5 years. He doesn't really know what's what anymore. All he knows is how things were the last time he actually used them. I hope all is as he said. But if, not, you need to know for yourselves because it is you who will be out there on the ocean depending on your boat to get you back to dry land.) Some day soon, you will be sailing the seas at your leisure and coming back to your container home nest until you are ready to sail the oceans blue again. So stay encouraged. All seems to be going well. Delays are to be expected. You do have a plan, but you are flexible, as you should be. To have hard and fast plans for something like this is a recipe for a lot of frustration and disappointment. Take care and be well. Hope you feel better soon Roberta.

Sto seguendo qualche coppia di naviganti che fanno il giro del mondo a cominciare da "La Vagabonde" che hanno oltre un milione di followers e da poco ho cominciato a seguire anche "Zartana" come anche "Project Atticus" ( anche loro hanno comprato una barca a vela vecchia l'anno ristrutturata)
Se può interessarvi, ci sono 2 ragazzi italian, marito e moglie, che tanno facendo il giro del mondo da 3 anni su un camper..mega...auto costruito, adesso si trovano in Costa RIca, e in quanto ad impianto elettrico hanno fatto un impianto molto particolare ( lui è un nerds) che gli permette di avere una autonomia energetica eccezionale per far funzionare frigorifero, lavatrice e altri elettrodomestici per giorni senza bisogno di allacciarsi alla rete elettrica e senza generatore di corrente.
