- I had an awesome game on Control the other day which I wanted to share with you all. Control is absolutely fantastic, and I think it needs to come back in the next game that proceeds Battlefield 2024. In this video I'll describe my thought throughout the game and share my feelings on Control.
I hope you enjoy!

wassup dan i managed to play a game with you a little under a year ago and couldnt believe i got inna game let alone a squad with u, love ur vids ive def applied most of your strategies. ive played bf for a while but with this game there was much to learn lol. i remember i was in a mbt and u spawned in and dropped sentinels around me like a true g lmao thanks for the content man
Thats awesome man :) I'm always looking out for friendly armour so I am happy that my help was noticed and appreciated! Thanks for the kind message. Hopefully we'll meet on the BF again :)
Control is definitely my favorite. It should be a permanent playlist with more maps😊
I would love more maps! Since its a smaller game mode too, I wouldn't mind multiple variants of the same maps. Maps like Hourglass and Kaleidoscope are so large that you could get two variants out of them. It probably won't happen, with development winding down, but we can hope.
Yeah Dan! Way to go!
Thanks for the comment :)
When I was starting out playing with the wildcat, I would use AA missiles not as a direct kill, but as a control tool. I'll lock on and maybe fire 1 AA missile, forcing them to pop flares and have a more predictable movement pattern, where I could then spray with my cannons. They're also a decent anti-pressure tool because they force a retreat to recharge flares. I would sometimes punish cocky pilots with a follow-up missile if they didn't wait to recharge flares, but stalling a pilot from affecting your team can be almost as valuable as killing them outright.
As soon as I get locked on by a Wildcat I immediately know where they are, and it means I can plan my assault. If you fire a missile first, they'll immediately pull away from where you are, meaning that your follow up main cannons will do less damage because either you are using the 30mms which fall off at range or you are going with the 35mms and will struggle to get hits on. Try starting the assault with the main cannons after letting them get a little too close, you'll tear through them.
My main concern with the AA missiles is that the pilots that actually NEED to be killed, because they are ruining games for everyone else, will never struggle against AA missiles.
Well played. Control is a pretty good game mode but I absolutely love Shutdown and Frontlines.
Thanks Henti, and thanks for joining the stream yesterday! It's always awesome to see you in one form or another!
Frontlines is great to, albeit a bit frustrating on some maps. Shutdown is not for me though :/ It lacks that large scale fight feel which I love about BF.
5:21 One of my favorite modes in MW2019 was hardpoint for this reason, you could implement different strategies for different points keeping it fun and interesting. I'm gonna try wrangle some of my friends to squad up on this control mode, looks fun
I would strongly recommend it, it only has a few maps to play on, which sucks, but it is a very fun mode, let me know what you think of it once DICE puts it back in rotation!
I really love control. Probably, my favorite gamemode. Only drawback I see is lack of maps made for this mode specifically. I think, this mode can be made much better with proper map design, taking into account how mode works
Yeah more maps would be great, but this late in 2042's life cycle, I doubt it is happening. I hope it shows up in the next game and they have some good layouts for it :)
The vehicle availability in this gamemode is what the conquest selection should feel like. I can grab a vehicle whenever I want practically and the increased amount is nice
wait a minute! does blasco gadget really blocks any lock ons? I did not know that, thats really useful
@Felipe-rw3vw yep! As long as a vehicle is in its radius, you cannot lock onto them.
Hey look everyone we found someone not playing arma reforger 😆
Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I can't tell.
I hope control and frontlines are permanent eventually. I can see why they arent right now because they dont want to wear the playerbase too thin.
How often do they cycle the modes? I am just returning to 2042 this past few days
Frontlines is awesome too! I think the rotation thing they have going right now is probably the best they can do. Those modes are played a lot when they first come but players generally move back to breakthrough and conquest as they stay out, honestly, probably because of how small the map pool is in those modes.
I think it's every 2 weeks or so. I am not 100% sure.
Do you think this game looks like blurry garbage, too, or is it just me?
I play other games and they look much sharper. Even bf4 looks visually better using 4xmsaa rather than TAA on bf2042.
The game plays well, but it's such visual crap when moving.
I play on ultra. Maybe I need to lower the setting on foliage idk.. I turned taa down to low. Post processing to medium. No dlss and ai. 1440p 27" monitor on gpu 4080super
Control is good? The 2 games i played i hated cus i couldn't really tell what was supposed to be happening
Oh man, it's so good. It's like conquest but the flags change location and you have to earn vehicles with good play. If there were more maps on offer it would be the only mode I play. Above all the mode is won by objective play, kills don't count towards the overall victory.
how to play this mode?
It comes up every so often in rotation. When it's available, you can see it in the main menu under the Breakthrough choice or it will appear as a current mode to play at the top of the menu, similar to the Unlocked Frontlines game mode which is currently there.
