everyone gets cuthulu wrong. it's an entity smarter that our entire species. it haunts us by giving you the realisation that everything we do is pointless and out existence is worthless and thats what it wants you to think. you cannot beat cuthulu. you can only survive.
The easiest way to create Lovecraftian horror -> make the evil thing super large and let the player feel small and insignificant. And throw some tentacles in there, and let the player become mad and die. Easy :D
Sapphire Hiest It's also beyond the human mind. It's impossible to comprehend cthulu or anything related to it. The human mind completely rejects the idea of Cthulu. It's not a slow descent into madness, it's instant insanity.

i think main thing to nail with Lovecraftian lore, is atmosphere. Everything else can be tweeked or even made how they want, no need to copy the books. Creativity is the key, just like Bloodborne, they nailed the atmosphere and after that went their own route.

The best Lovecraft inspired game so far, really neat, I hope this will be as similar as possible. There were no many jumpscares, but you feel frigthening and bad vibes all throught the game on that one
Was replaying it, was reminded of how goddamn fun it was to start gaming as an 8 year old kid.
Was enjoying it... then I ran into a glitch. And I know remember how annoying it was lol. Honestly though, if Destiny's End got released it would be great

Cthulhu's weakness is kids pretending to be cats.
After reading H.P. Lovecraft and learning a bit more about Cthulhu I'm absolutely stoked to play this. Hopefully it can stay true to core aesthetic and philosophy of Mr. Lovecraft.
If you liked Call of Cthulhu then I totally recommend you read At the Mountains of Madness and Shadow over Inssmouth, his two other more popular stories.

dark corners of the earth was something ... but this is not too much contrast brightness and no atmosphere, seems like this game did not have soul like dark corners of the earth have
I just hope this one actually has Cthulhu in it. I was disappointed with the original game because they didn't, other than idols.

I play Xbox, but I wanted to know what PS players think of Sony saying no to cross play. Do you feel as if it will be helpful because it will keep you safe? Do other reasons make sense to you?
In previous generations when XBox was more popular Sony wanted to Cross play but they turned it down. Now that Sony left them in the dust they want to cross play...

The argument that I see very often is that people already have friend who they can play with and because of that they don't need anyone else. In my opinion this isn't a good statement since if people don't need anyone else to play with they should not be against cross play, but be neutral about it.
The way I see is that cross play would benefit almost everyone, from the people that meet other people from the opposite console and then started playing together, to the people that play online games and that would have queue times reduced thanks to cross play.
I would love cross play to be a thing and I'am totally against Sony's decision.

i just came here because i knew this e3 this game would be shown in a way or something. now everybody is raging about cross play wich imo is a good thing for gamers. for a company not so much.
Hopefully it'll have similar aspects to the original, as in no HUDS and a sanity system (I.E. the more you look at a morbid/grotesque thing directly or even for a glimpse, the more distorted the vision your character has until they commit suicide or simply fall over laughing like a maniac)
After barely surviving Resident Evil, I wonder if they'd do this one in VR as well. Would certainly look forward to !!!
