Just like the original one already does.
The neglectance started with the Ps3 controller. I remember that you had to use the gyrosensors to balance on logs in Uncharted 1 and then it was never used again.

It's a nice change from the grim, mature movie games Sony makes. Astrobot always make me smile and feel like a kid again, which is something not a lot of Sony's games do anymore

Exactly what I was thinking. I like Astro bot game because it reminds me of those games on PS and PS2 lke crash, spyro, ratchet and clank, jax and daxter, sly cooper. Its just fun and relaxing. I wish for these game to make a big comeback.
It's sad how Team Asobi is PlayStation's only remaining Japanese developer now. Exact are gone, Team Gravity are gone, Clap Hanz are gone, everyone who made Ape Escape are gone. All the various teams that made up Japan Studios are gone from the company, some forming their own studios, some joining Nintendo, some even leaving the games industry entirely. Only Team Asobi remains.

I can't remember the last time a game trailer made me so happy. Astro is adorable and the hero we all need nowadays.
The fact that the free, preinstalled tech demo is unironically the best platformer game available on the console 4 years after it launched speaks volumes about the gaming industry these days. Beyond excited for this!

This is a Playstation game about Playstation? I love it. The concept feels like an early 2000s idea, the sort of fun creativity and brand recognition that we sadly don't see much of in modern times.
Play the previous game (Astro's Playroom) if you have the chance. It's a love letter for the whole PlayStation history, every since it's inception back in 1994 to the release of the PS5. And a great platforming game too!

@@JoaoAgile Honestly, Astro's playroom got me more curious about getting the previous Playstations and try its games. I only had Nintendo stuff growing up, so I didn't really experience anything else, but now it's different. The older Playstations look so cool. If I'll have the chance in the future I'm really curious to try them out. Btw, this game was so much fun and made me feel at ease

I love that Astro Bot went from a quirky PSVR tech demo to the semi-official mascot for the brand.
Astro Bot is BY FAR the best shot they've taken at a company mascot. Simple, appealing, and there's a lot you can do with him. It helps that Astro's Playroom was a really fun and charming pack-in tech demo worth playing at launch.

I know many will disagree, but Astro Playroom was the best experience I've had with the PlayStation5 to date. It is a work that not only introduces you to the new generation but also reminds us of everything from all the PlayStation's past, for me it was really gratifying to platinum this game, fun, exciting and very nostalgic with the simplicity that many games nowadays need.

For some reason, this feels so nostalgic as if you played 90s or 00s classic platformers
This gives me big Crash Bandicoot vibes like Astros playroom already did with f.e the hub world where you jump into the levels like in Crash 3

So happy to see Asobi get a chance to make a full-sized Astro Bot game, that free one that came with the PS5 was just absolutely lovely in every way.
Astro Bot: Rescue Mission was already a thing on the PS4. It seems like this game is a sequel to that (it seems they share the same alien final boss, reused some environment themes, and kept a fair bit of the music, among other things). It definitely didn't get the recognition it deserved though, being stuck on PSVR.
This was the only pure videogame they showed at State of Play with all due respect to the other games that were shown.

Makes sense. They closed Japan Studio despite them pumping out games of this same quality. Sony hates Japan now. They don't consider this major since it isn't a Western AAA "blockbuster" walking sim.
Ps5 is easily the biggest flop in console history. It was simply a faulty revised ps4 that overheats and burns out and has little to no game selection available.

Started out thinking it was a years late cringe tech demo, came away genuinely excited to play a fun game. Seriously, I was shocked at how it just kept getting bigger and better as the trailer went on.

I bought the Psvr2 mainly because Astrobot on the PSVR 1 blew my mind and it was a terrific killer application for the headset. I've been waiting for YEARS to see a new Astrobot title in VR and all I see here is flat screen game that I'm sure it will be a fantastic platform game, but in VR it could have been ASTOUNDING.
This looks way more interesting than most of their AAA titles.

Wish this was a hybrid PSVR2 game, Rescue Mission was hands down one of the best PSVR1 games. Gutted there’s no sign of a sequel or even a remaster with the new controllers.
I’ll be picking this up though, every AstroBot game is a pure celebration of PlayStation. Fingers crossed for a VR hybridisation down the line!

This looks FANTASTIC but everything about it SCREAMS PSVR2, even the fixed, forward scrolling camera.
Please make a PSVR 2 port!
maybe it is coming to VR2 but they didn't want to upset the flat gamers by announcing it here. LOL
I thought the same but after re watching the camera does spin round in the boss fights have another look

@@deadringer28 I certainly hope this is a surprise announcement. It would move PSVR2 units and bring it into the mainstream gaming conversation.
I can’t wait to pick this up day one. Astro bot is such a fun, franchise, colorful and just happy. Please put it out physically. And retroactively go back and make physical copies for the one that comes preloaded on the PlayStation 5. Keep this franchise going.

The VR will come, but the installed base for consoles I 10 times bigger.

I knew this game would be amazing when this trailer originally dropped, but man, the actual game is even better.
If Astro's Playroom was anything to go off, this game is gonna be top tier
Seeing all these references of other games, made me wanting that Astro Bot could get the other figures as costumes, or even better as power up costumes.
Happy that flat screen players get to experience Astrobot but please also bring it back to Psvr 2 where he was born ❤
I came up in the golden era of 3D platformers, so this makes me very happy.
Now sony, just port Rescue Mission to PS5 and PSVR2.

Cause sony make us clowns buying psvr2 and dumped it one year later. Best thing to do, move on to quest 3. Meta believes in its product. Sony is doing psvita all over again with psvr2

Kinda interesting how much Astro Bot has grown over a Decade ago. When Astro Bot was born, he and his buddies were in charge of entertaining people with their Playroom (VR) Mini Games on the PlayStation 4! Then, one of the mini games (Robot Rescue) would become its own full fledged game for PlayStation VR called Astro Bot: Rescue Mission.
Now, history repeats itself on PlayStation 5, where 4 years after the Launch game, Astro’s Playroom, We get to see That Game fleshed out with another Universe to explore with Astro Bot and his friends!
