Funny that the first thing this guys thinks when he learns in the probe tracking module is that they are running a monte carlo simulation lol definitely an astrophysicist
And figured out quantum imaging and found the stranger on his own, and entered the Sun Station warp tower without walking on sand, he IS the chosen one.
I was literally at the end of the game when I realised the marshmallows heal your health. In fact, it took me about 20 hours to figure out the health indicator was the red line person on the top left.
The first time I discovered the stranger was funny as f*ck I was playing this game while my brother was watching to criticise my playstyle and I said I was scared of accidentally flying into the sum. He responded with: "Oh, I'm more scared of you crashing into the-" Then I flew right into the stranger
The best part is that he didn't land on it and then lost track of it, so he can't pinpoint it in the ship log, which means he has to go back and find it the correct way despite having stumbled on it by accident.
This man said the ending of the game (collapse of the universe's superposition to a single possibility) out loud before experiencing it! Ok, his interpretation wasn't entirely correct (which doesn't take away from how fascinating his interpretation is), but very close indeed. You can tell he's an astrophysicist who's writing a phd :D He's sharp!
I’m no astrophysicist but so was I. The concepts in this game are extremely dumbed down versions of real science concepts and physics. I figured out the quantum moon as soon as I noticed it disappeared, I used the probe launcher to rapidly speed or slow down using Newton’s third law. It’s not the hardest thing ever. Hell I noticed the sun turning red a lot sooner than he did. You think of certain science concepts and it starts to make sense. The only thing I’m struggling with is figuring out how to get to the sunless city because I suck at tracking time and I get lost on that planet easily. But other than that the game is pretty simple to understand and I usually find most secret stuff eventually usually by coincidence
1:20:50 As a note, he didn't "land" in his ship. The game automatically does this whenever you are in/near your ship or it falls through at the same time as you do. This is to make sure someone who was in their ship would stay in their ship, but as a side effect can make people end up in their ship who weren't in it when it fell through.
This is the funniest unluckiest playthrough I've ever seen XD Death by Giant's Deep islands clipping (1:18:36), sniped by Hollow's Lantern (57:51), auto-pilot failure 100%, hit in the head by falling pieces of Brittle Hollow (1:27:30) But of course, the game bears no ill will. The universe is, and we are.
I just want to ask. What is your opinion to a playthrough that ended while never been able to find the White Hole Station. While also being in front of it multiple times while she question what it is
Hello, I just wanted to say thank you for all of the support these past days. I originally intended to make this video as a 1000 subscriber special, but it seems like that goal went by fast :D This playthrough is probably my favourite one, I just really like the way Oliver figures out this game. If you guys could do me one favour I would really like to see as many of you as possible write something nice on About Olivers channel, maybe on the latest video. Please do check out his channel, I really feel like many of you would enjoy the “vibes” there. Anyway, during the editing process, I made some notes of things I had to cut, which you will find in the unedited vods: Multiple attemps at timing the loop and forgetting about it attempting to land on the quantum moon (flying straight through it) lock-on bug frustration Analysis about all kinds of symbols and marks the nomai left behind. Trying to remember everyone’s names. Small theory on how eye of the universe is on the attlerock (episode 12) “Universe is sick” theory (episode 24 + in a few other episodes) DLC + ending supercut coming soon-ish!

@@Pablo-ob2bx I disagree. At every point I can see how he would come to his conclusion, which really just goes to show how well-made the game is, in my opinion.
He figured out how to break spacetime on the first visit to the high energy lab too. This man is astute! 2:12:00 Loving the playthrough. Going to give his full episodes some love after this for sure.
I can't believe how many physics bugs this guy got smacked in the face by, peak slapstick humor, especially when compared to other playthroughs of the game
25:42 That makes 5/5 people whose playthrough I've watched (including my own) who forgot their leather spacesuit when exiting their wooden rocket ship and died in the uncaring vacuum of space. It's a rite of passage at this point, I swear.
2:46:31 this is what it's all for, this moment when you get just enough pieces of the puzzle that it finally all falls into place, the incredible realization quickly followed by the emotional weight of what it all means. Can't get enough of watching other people play this game and reliving these moments through them
Oliver is one of the smartest players I've seen, his Obra Dinn, Subnautica and now Hollow Knight playthroughs all reflect that, with him predicting and understanding things hours before they happen At times, he would come to a seemingly far-fetched conclusion (altho one I know is true because I played these games) and then he explains how he got to these conclusions and I end up learning something new I didn't even consider. Currently watching him watch Hollow Knight, and he already figured out several major parts of the story and lore, a game where I'm not gonna lie - even after finishing I needed some Mossbag lore videos to fully understand. He just doesn't know he's correct yet.
I cannot believe the guy didn't even realize the nomai were trying to blow up the sun until he was IN the sun station. Crazy how the flow of information is different in every playthrough. What a game.
Man it cannot be overstated how grateful I am for these uploads. I really appreciate how much effort must go into finding the edits for these. Hope you never stop doing these, I'll be watching each single one!
Echoing everyone else's sentiments, this guy putting together the plot and iterating on his theories was SO SATISFYING to watch - I'm gonna go watch his other content because this was fantastic, thank you for the compilation
This was one of the most satisfying playthroughs of this game I've ever seen, the information was beautifully disected the moment he was presented with it. You could make a guess that he was a scientist even if it wasnt explicitly stated. Good stuff!
The way he discovered both the rules of quantum imaging and entanglement simultaneously by using his scout way before he was supposed to learn any of that is such a cool testament to how internally consistent the game is to the point where you can make discoveries entirely on your own. It's so great. Sequence breaking literally just requires enough curiousity and out-of-the-box thinking.
i love the little details he is noticing, like how gabbro floats when his island is shot into space or how launching the scout will give the character a bit of recoil
Its really really weird but I connected more emotionally with the game while seeing his reactions than I did when I played the game myself. Like when I played it I was clinically detached and found it all 'interesting'... But hearing this man curse under his breath in despair at his realizations, his excited ramblings when he figured things out... I don't know why but it made me connect with the story so much more than before and I have to thank you for this so much.
Oh, wow. I've loved all your supercuts so far, but after 14 minutes of this one, I just HAVE to go watch the original uploads. This guy is picking up so many things that others don't, and small things I've never seen anyone else pick up, like the comet's two tails in the diagram, or that the devs put in actual constellations. To other things like that other stars are going supernova in the background (On his first loop, no less), or how he figured out the terminology of the quantum shards seconds after seeing the first one, that no matter how well it's cut, I feel like this supercut might miss some great small observations he makes. Thanks a lot for all of these, though. They're excellent!
I watched the entire play through as he was uploading it to TH-cam and I really can’t recommend it enough. He does a lot of self monologuing about his thoughts that really can’t be contained in a super cut. While this is great for people who may not have the time to watch a full play through, I think this is one that really deserves that time spent.
@@Nytraz fr olivers playthrough is honestly my favourite ever, i started it while he was about half way through uploading the series and ive been watching his channel ever since
been looking for this comment, and with the games apparent attention to detail its not far fetched at all. Especially since the solar system (for gameplay or aesthetic reasons or whatever) is like miniturized/condensed. Its an idea ive played with even before hearing this, infinities in multiple dimensions? Like we obviously have infinity in space (statistically space is infinitely recurring if its infinite as we think), time (give everything enough time and everything will happen again and more), quantum mechanics (basically parallel universes, everytime a quark changes spin we branch off basically) but what about scale like, 99% of an atom is just empty space innit so what if our infinite universe is also just part of like an atom of an infinitely larger universe and even that repeats ad absurdum. (think like a mandelbrot set? it wouldnt invalidate that space repeats and even allow for spatial parallel universes but also reveal a larger pattern upon zooming out or in) Not to mention possible infinities with simulating realities, infinities of perception and memory (think of something like a Boltzmann Brain, for a split second a concious mind materializes with memories of entire lifetimes, universes and physical rules, they dont even have to make sense since it materializes out of pure randomness) Its crazy and has fucked with my mind ever since, if quantum behaviour as we observe in game is at a tangible, macro scale then it isnt far fetched of them to assume the "eye of the universe" to just be a valence electron?!
I remember watching this playthrough, I loved this guy's mind and his analytical nature, was a very fun watch. very relaxing voice and a lovely accent as well. appreciate the compilation version!
when the nomai statue does its thing and captures his memories, and he goes, "is that the autosave?" it's just funny because ... i mean... technically yeah it is LOL

Definitely going to check out this guy's full playthrough and other stuff. Very intuitive and chill vibes all round. Thanks for the on-point supercuts. Also love how everyone can agree that the Nomi are chill based on the use of puns and being considerate of other species.
Nobody's mentioning the very relatable moment at about 58:30, where you realize you have a problem, realize you don't have enough thrust to do anything about, and that you're going to die, all in less than 5 seconds. Also this man actually succeeded in what I tried to do a couple times in my play-through at 1:54:00, threading the cacti with a jetpack instead of just waiting for the sand. "You Destroyed The Fabric Of Spacetime" oh yeah, Outer Wilds is a horror game. 2:12:00

And thank you Eelis for the supercut :)
I can't imagine stumbling on to the DLC location without knowing it was the DLC location, then losing it. That's got to be maddening to know there's an entire cloaked space station and then not be able to find it again.
I watched this for 7 minutes then went to check on oliver’s channel and saw the first few videos, (will watch them all eventually) (indeed watched them all, really good) My conclusion is watching the full series is much better, you just can’t sum it all up in 2 hours without losing a lot of good stuff, my suggestion, watch the whole thing before it’s too late
Its funny that whenever he finds something new he's immediatly like: Is this why the sun is exploding? I'm imaging the picture of the guy looking at the butterfly.
Watched the whole thing despite completing the game on my own and already absorbing the whole lore. This man gave the game progression a whole new spin.

hahaha 1:59:23 for those looking for the part
1:45:56 I absolutely cannot believe he actually managed to find The Stranger completely on accident.
2:12:45 AND he managed to get one of the rarer endings.
Funny that the first thing this guys thinks when he learns in the probe tracking module is that they are running a monte carlo simulation lol definitely an astrophysicist
But didn't figure out that the difference in current launches & the eye discovery launch is the amount of loops he experienced 😅
Wait, did he just roast marshmallow the right way on the first try?!
He is the chosen one
And figured out quantum imaging and found the stranger on his own, and entered the Sun Station warp tower without walking on sand, he IS the chosen one.
He also landed the model ship perfectly on the first try... he's an Outer Wilds GOD!
Damn, these astrophysicists are surprisingly smart!
I was literally at the end of the game when I realised the marshmallows heal your health. In fact, it took me about 20 hours to figure out the health indicator was the red line person on the top left.
holy hell the stranger discovery here is legendary
So true!

The first time I discovered the stranger was funny as f*ck
I was playing this game while my brother was watching to criticise my playstyle and I said I was scared of accidentally flying into the sum.
He responded with: "Oh, I'm more scared of you crashing into the-"
Then I flew right into the stranger
The best part is that he didn't land on it and then lost track of it, so he can't pinpoint it in the ship log, which means he has to go back and find it the correct way despite having stumbled on it by accident.
2:45:17 funniest possible outcome of visiting the sun station
I was dying laughig
His comprehension of the details of this game is incredible. He's putting things together so quickly and accurately.
Very fun to watch.

@@TikeyBoss Honestly, I watched the whole playthrough and his point stand.

Didn't he do it in the first video in the museum, when he first saw the supernova model?
1:20:50 As a note, he didn't "land" in his ship. The game automatically does this whenever you are in/near your ship or it falls through at the same time as you do. This is to make sure someone who was in their ship would stay in their ship, but as a side effect can make people end up in their ship who weren't in it when it fell through.
Ah, that would explain why several playthroughs have had that happen. Otherwise the chances of that seem astronomical.
This is the funniest unluckiest playthrough I've ever seen XD
Death by Giant's Deep islands clipping (1:18:36), sniped by Hollow's Lantern (57:51), auto-pilot failure 100%, hit in the head by falling pieces of Brittle Hollow (1:27:30)
But of course, the game bears no ill will. The universe is, and we are.
I'm pretty sure that was the quantum rock clipping into his ship and launching it at him, not hollows lantern, which is even funnier imo
I just want to ask. What is your opinion to a playthrough that ended while never been able to find the White Hole Station. While also being in front of it multiple times while she question what it is
Hello, I just wanted to say thank you for all of the support these past days. I originally intended to make this video as a 1000 subscriber special, but it seems like that goal went by fast :D
This playthrough is probably my favourite one, I just really like the way Oliver figures out this game.
If you guys could do me one favour I would really like to see as many of you as possible write something nice on About Olivers channel, maybe on the latest video. Please do check out his channel, I really feel like many of you would enjoy the “vibes” there.
Anyway, during the editing process, I made some notes of things I had to cut, which you will find in the unedited vods:
Multiple attemps at timing the loop and forgetting about it
attempting to land on the quantum moon (flying straight through it)
lock-on bug frustration
Analysis about all kinds of symbols and marks the nomai left behind.
Trying to remember everyone’s names.
Small theory on how eye of the universe is on the attlerock (episode 12)
“Universe is sick” theory (episode 24 + in a few other episodes)
DLC + ending supercut coming soon-ish!
I’ll head over and leave a comment now, and bookmark some videos to check out!
I don't know where you came from or why you decided to build a channel off of editing ridiculously long videos but I thank you for it. Not many people are willing to make supercuts. Thank you! :D

When I first got the dlc, on my way to the satellite I somehow flew into the stranger, I had no idea what it was, it just happened to be in between me and the satellite
I absolutely love that moment of complete realization at 2:46:30. The "OOOOOOOH MY GOD I THINK I CRACKED THIS" is so great.
53:02 I love this, this man logically figured out 2 of the quantum rules back to back within 30 seconds
That's the best Outer Wilds playthrough I've ever seen! Imo that is exactly the way how outer wilds is supposed to be played. I even recommend to watch full version of this masterpiece, despite it's 20+ hours long. In this case longer duration just means more content.
Yeah, I did. He's funny and clever. Also runs into some hilarious bugs that are even more confusing than the game usually is.
2:46:17 this is what i watch playthroughs for, him feeling those feelings and me living vicariously through them. gotta love it
Pretty cool how he literally started discovering the quantum rules by himself at 52:56
Edit: And then he did it again with the Stranger from the DLC at 1:45:13 !
I really think it is a fake blind playthrough, and the more i watch it the more I get to that conclusion...
@@Pablo-ob2bx I disagree. At every point I can see how he would come to his conclusion, which really just goes to show how well-made the game is, in my opinion.

See, it would be really dumb... if they didn't have a plan to invent time travel!
He figured out how to break spacetime on the first visit to the high energy lab too. This man is astute! 2:12:00
Loving the playthrough. Going to give his full episodes some love after this for sure.
Most people got the dlc after beating the game, so seeing him experience a bit of the dlc whilst in the main game is a new experience for me.
Man, so many of these youtubers get to the sun station by flying through the cactus maze instead of using the sand. Major Feldspar energy
@48:00 this dude instantly figures out the timing of teleportation being /slightly/ in the realm of time travel.
damn no wonder he passed the classes
9:34 That is peak quantum gaslighting, The timing and positioning couldn't have been better.
2:46:31 this is what it's all for, this moment when you get just enough pieces of the puzzle that it finally all falls into place, the incredible realization quickly followed by the emotional weight of what it all means. Can't get enough of watching other people play this game and reliving these moments through them
The insights given by Oliver actually made me experience what I thought was impossible: relieve the game as if it was the first time I've played it
Oliver is one of the smartest players I've seen, his Obra Dinn, Subnautica and now Hollow Knight playthroughs all reflect that, with him predicting and understanding things hours before they happen
At times, he would come to a seemingly far-fetched conclusion (altho one I know is true because I played these games) and then he explains how he got to these conclusions and I end up learning something new I didn't even consider.
What a game.
i didn’t know you could figure that out before the sun station lol, that’s when i figured it out
Man it cannot be overstated how grateful I am for these uploads. I really appreciate how much effort must go into finding the edits for these. Hope you never stop doing these, I'll be watching each single one!
Thank you for keeping my Outer Wilds craving fed in a (somewhat) time respective manner.
Echoing everyone else's sentiments, this guy putting together the plot and iterating on his theories was SO SATISFYING to watch - I'm gonna go watch his other content because this was fantastic, thank you for the compilation
1:49:30 bro really pulled out some feldspar levels of fancy flying and out maneuvered multiple angler fish
This was one of the most satisfying playthroughs of this game I've ever seen, the information was beautifully disected the moment he was presented with it. You could make a guess that he was a scientist even if it wasnt explicitly stated. Good stuff!
at around 55:30 when he figures out the quantum image rule all by himself...... literal jaw drop. what a delightful playthrough
I don't know why but it made me connect with the story so much more than before and I have to thank you for this so much.
the anecdote at 1:29:25 fucked me up so much and i wish i could unlearn this; why does space have to be so sad D:
The universe is and we are.
Poor guy can't stop getting bonked by falling things

1:33:03 I love this hypothesis so much ! this leap of faith idea is really great
been looking for this comment, and with the games apparent attention to detail its not far fetched at all.
(think like a mandelbrot set? it wouldnt invalidate that space repeats and even allow for spatial parallel universes but also reveal a larger pattern upon zooming out or in)
Not to mention possible infinities with simulating realities, infinities of perception and memory (think of something like a Boltzmann Brain, for a split second a concious mind materializes with memories of entire lifetimes, universes and physical rules, they dont even have to make sense since it materializes out of pure randomness)
Its crazy and has fucked with my mind ever since, if quantum behaviour as we observe in game is at a tangible, macro scale then it isnt far fetched of them to assume the "eye of the universe" to just be a valence electron?!
Probably the best playthrough of the game to date. There are very few playthroughs where I watched every single video, but this was one.
i love the way he discovers the rules of quantum entanglement and imaging himself yet fails to remember the only rule he acfually learned properly.
He is way too good wtf... He has almost all the correct guesses
I remember watching this playthrough, I loved this guy's mind and his analytical nature, was a very fun watch. very relaxing voice and a lovely accent as well. appreciate the compilation version!
oof the ending is so ominous I love it
when the nomai statue does its thing and captures his memories, and he goes, "is that the autosave?" it's just funny because ... i mean... technically yeah it is LOL
2:04:30 "They are using Monte Carlo Simulation." Spoken like a true Astrophysicist
"This is a very unusual number of super novas" Oh, we're only getting started
"i have a hen to pluck with you" is a great version of that saying
33:20 This game is so immersive that these kinds of things scared the shit out of me too! I have never been so immersed in a game before. This is an amazing feat by the developers.
Cheers for making all of these, its crazy that your taste in games AND creators is practically identical to mine haha
It's been so great to follow Oliver through this. The way he came up with so many theories and even found out about the quantum lore was so amazing to follow. And how genuine hearbroken he sounded seeing the Nomai.. it made me emotional as well. He seems like such a great and genuine guy thank you for this supercut
This comment is really late, but how is nobody talking about 2:46:30 ? This here is quite literally where everything falls into place, he reconstructs the events PERFECTLY. It's incredible how much he pays attention and the timing of the music and everything.... The goosebumps was insane, imagine how he felt when realizes
Oh my god this guy is an absolute genius, seeing him connect the dots, come to conclusions, and modify those conclusions based on new evidence until he discovers the truth, was absolutely peak. I can't wait for the DLC supercut and the ending
It's really funny yet incredibly appropriate that the most entertaining playthrough of The Outer Wilds is done by a scientist
That's definitely the smartest let's play I've seen so far! Also how do so many random things happen to him xD
Right? I can't recall ever getting hit by something on Brittle Hollow and this man just gets assaulted by random rocks.
It was great to watch through the entirety of About Oliver's playthrough, and it is great to watch your supercut. Talk about ending it on a cliffhanger...!
2:12:30 I live that he discovered the "destroy spacetime" ending. No other youtuber I've seen tried that.

YES OMG. I saw the channel’s video on the base game and I was so glad that TH-cam recommended it to me. I wasn’t subscribed or anything, it just decided “hey you might like this” and it was damn right! I was really hyped to see Echoes of the Eye also visited, it’s one crazy DLC.
"We arrived on Brittle Hollow .00001 units of time before we left. Which obviously, er...is problematic." lmao!
It's lovely to find a fresh blind playthrough of Outer Wilds every so often in order to relive it vicariously. This is by far one of the best. Thank you Oliver for the amazing, insightful commentary. And thank you Eelis for the supercut :)
53:02 He discovers quantum entanglement and quantum imaging without even going to those shards, that is crazy.
I can't imagine stumbling on to the DLC location without knowing it was the DLC location, then losing it. That's got to be maddening to know there's an entire cloaked space station and then not be able to find it again.
I found this guy through his rain world playthrough, didnt know he was an astrophysicist! Thats so cool
I watched this for 7 minutes then went to check on oliver’s channel and saw the first few videos, (will watch them all eventually) (indeed watched them all, really good)
My conclusion is watching the full series is much better, you just can’t sum it all up in 2 hours without losing a lot of good stuff, my suggestion, watch the whole thing before it’s too late
Same for Soviet, the supercut actually gets rid of a lot of very funny moments!
Its funny that whenever he finds something new he's immediatly like: Is this why the sun is exploding? I'm imaging the picture of the guy looking at the butterfly.
