@scouseraph Liverpool are net spenders. They need to sell players before they can buy. Since then, they've put huge appearance add ons to each of their player purchases and this summer just gone, it finally caught up with them. Ryan Giggs always ripped the left side open in the first 10-20 minutes of any home game if the away team was on their heels. Scholes and Keane were ball winners that forced the away team into a fumble situation. Served the ball to players at speed and yes everybody run like crazy from the first minute and very often resulted in a early 1:st half lead. The the away team must go forward carefully not to loose the ball to a running team that will likely punish you again....
To be fair United had schmeichel in goal who could throw a ball over half the pitch. Soon as he caught it from a cross or a corner the first thing Giggs did was run that wing

and also was Palmer et al. poor or did we hold them in check? It was a better performance than being cut wide open all the damn time. THe passing is really poor in the final third and rushed elsewhere.
That's what ppl aren't taking into account. Both man u and Chelsea's defense did very well to snuff each other's attack potency out, combined with both of them just overall underperforming in the final third
People dont understand that when ragnick said this team needs "open heart surgery" replacing a couple starting 11 here and there isnt enough... not even replacing the entire starting 11 would be enough. You need to replace the entire starting 11 and the entire bench for it to be an "open heart surgery" but united fans simply don't have enough patience for that to happen, they want it to happen over night. Of course Ten Hag got some signing wrongs that didnt turn out to help towards the solution but that cant be completely blamed on him imo. Also you can clearly see there is something in brunos and rashfords contracts that prevents managers from benching them. No way they both play sooo bad that all the fan base "hates" them playing and Ten hag picked them out of favoritism and Ruud now still picks them too... If Ruben also picks both of them in his first match his career here will be over before it even begun
The worrying thing for MU is they are miles off MC, Liverpool and Arsenal. I know a couple of those teams aren't at their best but they have key players out. Would any of MU's current team get into any of those 3 other sides? Not one. Their only positive is they are still a big enough name to bring in decent quality players to replace that rabble.
United currently have 7 injured players. They haven't had a left back for over a season having to use right sided players there. But sure, the other teams have "key players" out 🤦♂️
Jamie is right it was like a pub team game and watching it from a pub was boring as. Zirkzee on as a sub, after 80 minutes and I'm expecting him to put the burners on and go for goal - he ambled and stuttered. If that was Ruud, van Persie, Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez... or any stroker in the PL and they would have busted a gut and rocketed it into the back of the net. A Sunday pub team player would have done exactly that.
I couldn't agree more with Roy Keane here. The world should go back to the mid 2000s because THAT'S when football was REALLY TRULY the Golden Goat of everything!!!!!!
not a united fan, but those who criticize bruno surely doesnt know football. he is the ONLY one with quality in that team and also work the hardest. where else have you seen a number 10 tracking people all over the pitch to cover gaps, and be expected to also score and assist? the problem with him is he cares too much, should just play like de bruyne, ozil or pogba and take games off and dont track back. so every game he plays, every time he’s on the ball he stays fresh.
Works the hardest but he just runs around everywhere. He has no structure to his play. He just runs and launches balls. He can’t shoot or score for an attacking mid, he is overrated
you didn't watch the game , he is one of the main issue why UTD doesn't look strong in midfielder i would rather play with 3 CM or 2 CF instead of having bruno

Another manager will derail his career.
That Chelsea performance was very very good compared to the way they have been playing under ten Hag. Lots of energy, super-energetic pressing. Very nice to see! Finishing was lacking for sure
I have been critical about united for a very long time but today was definitely a better performance. Still not great obviously but better. I love Roy keane but today i feel he is a little bit too critical. BTW we were robbed by VAR AGAIN, the fault on rashford in the first half was a stonewall penalty!
They should have done this in the summer with a full pre-season, they'd be much better off. Long term, stick with Amorim and they will be fine. He's truly elite.
Man United players celebrated the penalty award like they won the World Cup. Not the goal, the penalty award. This club ones dominated the english football and became record Champions. They became to an embarrassment
Had to laugh when Neville said that Amorim was Ineos’s 1st appointment….and then Redknapp corrected him by saying that he is actually their 2nd appointment (extending Ten Hag’s contract was their 1st appointment and they royally messed that up. They haven’t got a clue). Liverpool didn’t want Amorim, neither did Bayern and neither did Barcelona 😂
@ erm no he didnt. It was the other way round. Get YOUR facts right. Show me an article where it says he turned lfc down. I can show you plenty of articles stating that lfc decided not to go for him. Moron.
Erik ten Hag's hopeless misalliance at Old Trafford will continue to haunt Manchester United for at least next couple of years, his three quarter of billion for twenty one players, his promotion of the youth, and his contract extension of players would not be easily undone for foreseeable future. Amorim first, second and third priority to indemnify his job is to be extremely ruthless with each and every one of them and assert authority from the day one to threaten the players to exit in January window.
I actually thought we were ok today, Ruud has made a positive difference. I thought we would win, but a draw with 4th Chelsea isn't the end of the world and the performance was decent IMO. Amorim's style looks like a good fit. Hopefully we can push the likes of Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle and Villa for European qualification; and do it with a clear philosophy - strengthen in the summer and who knows...
All the criticism is fair at the moment - but I’ll reserve judgement until after the next 3 games, Ipswich, Leicester and Everton, if they don’t get 7 points from those 3 games, then I’m completely off them.
Rashford needs to go, even now with Ten Haag gone he’s strolling around. Garnacho thinks he’s Maradonna, Hojlund thinks he’s a wrestler and Bruno thinks the ball is a ticking time bomb. The front players are all selfish or lack team play. They are all ego players and need to be humbled (dropped or sold)
Amorim’s biggest task will be clearing out the deadwood from this team. There are players there that will never be good enough. Problem is a lot of them are on such big contracts that it’s near impossible finding another club to take them
There's still a lot of work to be done with United. But I'm a believer that its a United side that still can go up many gears. They need belief. You see it how they lack confidence. And there's bad threads that need to unwind. But games like these also show that they are not BAD BAD. There's something there too.
We need a good striker, hojlund/zirkzee both not good enough. Sell rashford, try to sell antony, start amad/garnacho and buy another good one for the other side. Casemiro bruno eriksen ugarte mainoo is a proper midfield, dont think tottenham/chelsea have better players there. Defence martinez de ligt is okay, dalot/mazroui also. Not very good but still good enough to make top 4 i think
With just 12 points won, this is Manchester United's worst return after 10 games of a league campaign since 1986-87 . Meanwhile, their total of nine goals is their fewest at this stage of a league campaign since 1973-74. ROY'S RIGHT !!!
Amorim needs to get better forwards in than Garnacho, Rashford. He needs to put Bruno on a leash. While he’s our best player, too often he tries Hollywood shots/passes unnecessarily. Ugarte is so overrated, Casemiro is better but old, Eriksen is old too. The team needs a new left back and so on and so on. I only have hope for the defence because De Ligt has been improving, Mazroui is decent, and Yoro will clearly improve the defense when he returns, otherwise midfield and attack needs an overhaul.
Mazraoui just decent !?! Sorry that's such an understatement, i watched the whole game, he was world class today. He just oozes class throughout his whole career
Switched it off at half time because of boredom but Bruno was holding the midfield together by himself: Ugarte and Casemiro were dreadful, but Chelsea couldnt take advantage somehow. And since this is a Roy Keane video, if Haaland is a League Two player than Rashord is National South.
Get rid of Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw, Dalot, Fernandes, Rashford. These are the players that have seen off the most managers. Then give Antony the role of the mascot. Let Casemiro and Erikson run out their contracts.
Anyone realised how Gary won’t do his podcast when Liverpool have a great weekend of football. Still running away from the fact that Liverpool are most certainly here to battle for the title, without Klopp!
I think footballers show incredible amount of resilience in the face of unfettered negativity. They are young men pursuing a dream, each story is epic and should be celebrated. Football is a game and outcomes are variable. But character grit and bravery in the face of never ending put downs is the real hero of football. Never give up, keep going..
@matthewbaker2573 I can and so I know a little of what it takes. Cant imagine if a whole crowd gym or park "screaming now you cant!" Football actually has the power to inspire excellence. Commentators should also mention this and recognise within themselves. The story that hit me hard, Frank Lampards mother passing and him on the pitch. Grieving through his art. This is powerful. This is what we can also talk about during commentary too.❤✌🤝🏽 I'm not a snowflake or flake. But elite sports is 90% mindset A mindset that should be spread and celebrated.
well, it was a good performance form the united side, you cant expect them to win every game, defensively they were great. you cant expect them to turn over so quickly over the sack of ETH. The offensive side of united need some improvement, Hojlund isn't a top striker yet but he's getting there, Zirkzee on the other hand have to work really hard, he cant dribble on his own, lose the ball easily and alot of technique missing from his part. Overall it was a different United from we are used to see, the players were applying pressure on Chelsea, and Chelsea gave a great show. You can't expect Chelsea to go down without a fight...
It’s true. United over the years have only ever produced after individual performances. At times Bruno, then DDG, then Rashford and then Casemiro. They’ve never ever collectively play as a unit or have really strong few players pulling through. They’re mediocre with a bit of one season wonders at times.
Truth be told Manchester hasn't been at it's best but the game they played against Chelsea was Abit pleasing compared to previous games, even though they lost big chances and I agree that's what they have to work for, they played fairly 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Appreciate Them
Chelsea was no less boring today, talked up before the game by the like of Paul Merson saying they'd win by two or three goal margin and in the end lucky to get a draw.
Absolutely spot on from Keane. I can't help but think negative towards the club atm. I honestly thought today would have been an easy win for Chelsea. We need to stick with managers and blame the players for the performances each week.
Jamie Redknapp is bang on the money when he said “some players have to go because they’ve seen out too many managers” Start with Rashford. He’s arguably the laziest player we have and basically refuses to track back. It’s time for him to go. Luke Shaw has to go, he’s far too injury prone. Zirkzee has to go, he’s not a premiership footballer. The list is long
If you are a true united supporter, followed united through the glory days and during these difficult recent years, you will understand that this game wasn't boring but rather entertaining. Be objective Roy
"How is he going to change their mindset?" Easy, he'll give them a few matches to adapt to his tactics and if they don't perform their duties. They won't be featured or they'll be benched, or they'll play until he can get them sold off.
Why are they going on about "players that have seen off several managers"? If they mean Rashford then just man up and say it. The majority of this squad wasn't there under previous managers. And it's a tired cliché point anyway cause it's got nothing to do with that. They're just not good enough and that is the simple reality. I have no idea how Amorim will solve it but a first step would be to acknowledge we're just not good enough. Squad needs investment again next summer. We need more signings like De Ligt and Mazraoui and less signings like Antony, Casemiro etc.

We have it but don't waste it.
@scouseraph Liverpool are net spenders. They need to sell players before they can buy. They got lucky with Barca throwing cash around like confetti and admittedly spent well in a defender and goalkeeper. Since then, they've put huge appearance add ons to each of their player purchases and this summer just gone, it finally caught up with them. They had to sell 2 academy kids to raise the funds in an attempt to sign Zubrimendi who rejected them to stay at a Europa club. Ended up signing a juventus reject who hasn't played 4 consecutive games since 2021.
Meanwhile, United can spend over 200mill a season, and that's even when they let a player they bought for 90mill walk away for free.
You have absolutely no clue on what you are talking about 😂
This Manchester United team is the cure for insomnia ,
True. I slept at halftime😂everytime
City and arsenal are just as boring IMO

That's what ppl aren't taking into account. Both man u and Chelsea's defense did very well to snuff each other's attack potency out, combined with both of them just overall underperforming in the final third
@@rowannandlall5060 when was the last time Chelsea won at Man Utd's ground?

A Sunday pub team player would have done exactly that.

not a united fan, but those who criticize bruno surely doesnt know football. he is the ONLY one with quality in that team and also work the hardest. where else have you seen a number 10 tracking people all over the pitch to cover gaps, and be expected to also score and assist? the problem with him is he cares too much, should just play like de bruyne, ozil or pogba and take games off and dont track back. so every game he plays, every time he’s on the ball he stays fresh.
De Bruyne has runned back a lot, but now days he's age is affecting how he plays.
Works the hardest but he just runs around everywhere. He has no structure to his play. He just runs and launches balls. He can’t shoot or score for an attacking mid, he is overrated

It wasn't just Ten Hag. But United fans will have to learn this the hard way come New Years.

There's still a lot of work to be done with United. But I'm a believer that its a United side that still can go up many gears. They need belief. You see it how they lack confidence. well, it was a good performance form the united side, you cant expect them to win every game, defensively they were great. you cant expect them to turn over so quickly over the sack of ETH.

Absolutely spot on from Keane. I can't help but think negative towards the club atm. I honestly thought today would have been an easy win for Chelsea. We need to stick with managers and blame the players for the performances each week.
Jamie Redknapp is bang on the money when he said “some players have to go because they’ve seen out too many managers”
Start with Rashford. He’s arguably the laziest player we have and basically refuses to track back. It’s time for him to go.
Luke Shaw has to go, he’s far too injury prone.
Zirkzee has to go, he’s not a premiership footballer.
The list is long
Chelsea was poor today united kept them quiet especially Palmer.

That Draw was like A Loss! This was a very disappointing result especially considering the run of results *you need wins on days like this!* ☹️
Boring is not the word he needs to get rid of so many players better use the academy
"How is he going to change their mindset?"
Easy, he'll give them a few matches to adapt to his tactics and if they don't perform their duties. They won't be featured or they'll be benched, or they'll play until he can get them sold off.
ROY HAS BEEN HONEST since the ole days. About these same players.
We need more signings like De Ligt and Mazraoui and less signings like Antony, Casemiro etc.
wanna know why other clubs are doing better than united. their fans support them, even when they are down
I’m not sure what Roy and co were expecting though ..the team needs a good coach, unfortunately he’s not there yet
