I heartily agree with what you said about Matt's vocal choices and how he just lets emotion drive his performance and not worry necessarily about what may or may not come out. Like you, I'd be way too concerned about losing control of my voice but I definitely love it when he does it!

So glad you're discovering Matt! Been in love with his music now for years! Fun fact for who does not know it, he was on australian Idol when he was really young. I got to know him after hearing Uncle Jed play brother on the australian X-Factor years ago (which is totally worth watching as well, they are heavenly!). I fell in love with the song and went for the owner. Love at first listen as well ❤

It's like throat singing, he literally drops in throat singing. Also, I just subscribed because of your description of the tech behind the 'big songs'. I'm also that person who picks up on mic/vocal/guitar/etc technique. I'm the person who has to tweak all the tech things to enhance the performer to sound their best. We notice the little things. :)

I love this song, and I got a gospel feel, in his video yeah the end part sounds like he's got a choir with him a bit but I think it's either just a couple people and him over the top??? Anyhow it's beautiful!!!!
