I was lucky enough to see him live twice and I even met him once (after standing outside in the cold until 2 am lol). To say I'm a fan is an understatement and I'm so happy you know him now. It would be amazing if you could react to more of his live stuff. For example, Souls A'Fire or Lay You Down / Song For from Live on the Resolution Tour. Phenomenal singing, so much soul, so much emotion you can not explain it, just listen and let it sink in. One thing I would like to point out is the guitar playing. It brings so much more to the song and this performance, and not in an intrusive way. It is so in harmony with the flow of the song and beautiful to listen to, perfect. Try to focus on just the guitar (hard to ignore his great voice) and the way he masterfully brings the sound level higher and higher and deepens the chords with adding the bass strings to the riffs with the song's progression. I am amazed by this. Thank you, Rebecca, very much for this song's discovery! P.S. I don't comment a lot on TH-cam, but had to express my appreciation for this song and performance. Amazing!

I was on life support for 5 days from a severe throat infection (epiglottitis), probably due to immunosuppressives, at one hospital and my brother was in an induced coma because of sudden, unexpected liver failure at another hospital. I woke up in ICU to the news that my brother didn’t get his transplant in time and died. I had a lot of guilt about being the one who woke up. Anyway, the even stranger part of the story is that he had undiagnosed autoimmune hepatitis for a long time which destroyed his liver. The point is, I understand chronic illness and I understand grief. They both change you forever. Even now, 5 years later, I might not have thought about him for a week and then the grief will hit me, as raw as it was the first time and it literally feels like a punch to the gut and it takes my breath away it’s so powerful. It’s mostly at night when I’m tossing and turning and I can’t switch my brain off.

This is kind of odd, especially since I don't usually share it, but I lost my eldest sister to AIDs when I was 15. Well, pneumonia but you get what I mean. Her funeral was 9/11, like the 9/11. My parents tried to shield me from her illness so when she died, I took it really hard. It's nothing compared to coming out of a coma and finding your world changed forever. At all. That's just...I don't even have words. Cruel and unfair and I really wish I could give you the biggest hug. Losing people just sucks.
Matt corby is truly a remarkable vocalist. I haven’t been a huge fan of his 2 albums like I was about his singles before, but every time he’s in town I still need to see him perform. Absolutely incredible and this isn’t even my favourite live version of this song.
