I don’t feel too bad for Yamaha. They discontinued the DX1 in 1985, at the release of the DX5. If they were so inclined, they had four decades to produce something like the BX1. I get their viewpoint though. Their synths have 8 op FMX combined with AWM2 samples. Be interesting to see the price point differences between the BX1 and a MODX6.
@@crhkrebs I am with you on this. I remember the DX5, I think it was two DX7's in the one keyboard. This BX1 looks and sounds amazing. I have been a big fan of Behringer since the mid-90s with their sound processing racks. It's truly amazing what they have been producing recently.
Great questions about the polyphonic aftertouch and support for DX7 SysEx, I've seen people asking about both on forums and in the comments on other TH-cam videos. I need another synth like I need another hole in my head, but this will be impossible to resist.
I might’ve missed something, but when the demo finally began, it sounded as if that BX1 had been transposed down a whole step. Had they mentioned that they were going to do that and I simply wasn’t paying attention? Moving on, I’ve got to say that it is possibly the most comprehensive demonstration I have watched of what a hi-pass filter does. Not that I haven’t heard other demonstration of one before, but it made the most sense this time around.
Cool, a couple more sounds. Can't wait to hear a proper demo. Sounding pretty good so far. Thanks! Edit: SonicState has a 9+ min sounds only vid up BTW. It sounds realty good, and it's a prototype.
"Combined" is a bit overselling it. It has a global filterbank like the CS80. Which is a useful thing, don't get me wrong. And also built in effects, apparently.
@@jeshkam apparently Uli mentioned that their goal was never to release a keyboard synth that cost over $1500 USD. But that may need some fact checking, lol.
I told me self I wasnt gonna buy and buy more synths, but man, I don't have any DX style synths anymore, and I was looking for the perfect replacement, wow, this ticks all the boxes.
Saludos cordiales 👍
The big question I bet tons of people are wondering about are they gonna make 1-1 replacements for the ym2612 or the ym3439 I might be wrong but didn’t the dx1 come with 2401 chips that were 2 operators? I’d really like to see the production of these extremely had to get chips so many bs fake ones on eBay and other sites if u don’t pull them yourself they are most likely fakes
Me yesterday: Wow I actually think I’m done buying synths!
Me today: I am 100% buying this synth.
Super excited about this
Yamaha giant is being resurrected ... Behringer is amazing
A dx7 sounds better , more low frequencies and it's 500$
I know patents expire etc, but I'm pretty sure some heads at Yamaha will be pissed with this beauty!. Truly Yamaha 1983 Styling. Love it.

Behringer-- killen it

Could they please release a “plus” version with an 88 note semi-weighted polyphonic aftertouch keyboard, which would become my master keyboard/synth.
Hvala Behringer. Ovo moram imati
Thanks Amanda! 🙂 x
You're very welcome! 😺
I must preorder this today. I want this now.
SOunds cheap, no low frequencies

Definitely on my "to get" list

He said combined because each DSP has 8 filters.
A dx7 sounds better
@gonreebgonreeb LOL, yeah, sure. You won't be able to tell which is which.
@@RegebroRepairsThis dude only watched them both on YT. 😂😂
Behringer has taken a lot of heat for resurrecting super expensive icons and making them affordable and better than the original.
I got a chance to play it at NAMM. It is TOO phat!!
No low frequencies, take a real DX7
@@gonreebgonreeb🤣🤣
No... I disagree. I heard plenty of bottom coming from this keyboard. You can definitely hear the CS80 in this build.
It will be on sale in 3 years
2026 is what I was told
I heard similar.
Looks cool. Price?
They weren't ready to disclose a price yet.
@@CatSynthTVProbably around $1200-1500. Just guessing.

@@crhkrebs Oh, I wasn't aware of it. Let's wait then and we'll sure find out next year.
Price ?

Take a look to the Korg Opsix... wonderful 😍
I have it and it has other than FM.
Wavefolder..additive and soctrattive synthesis.
I have a vintage TX-802, but this BX1 still looks good. I don’t even have room for another keyboard synth anymore.

Gracias por sus comentarios 😺🎹
Kaospad patent is never gonna be released
I wish Behringer would change their case designs to look more sleek and angled.
Somebody pass this over to Dadrian Wilson.

I want ❤
They'll make ANYTHING, as long as it's not the CS80.
@4'57 problem in FM sounds, bad frequency , sounds like a bug
Please take my money🙏
Bringer don't have to Honor Copie Right Law?
Comments don't have to honour spelling law?
You do know the DX1 was discontinued 40 years ago?
Shut up and take my money! 🤤
I'm at namm, the interest is totally underwhelming. The OBX is barely in tune. Oh well

Sounds like a cheap Casio 🫤🎹
cheap sounding , it' s a shame. Looks good.
