I felt I was there, it was a bone-chilling experience. I didnt really feel the burn, it's more of the horror the people have gone through as they desperately have to get out, the cold panic of the people trying to get out... Uniques chilling delivery of this song and with that funky crisp beat works magic. The music elements Unique utilized has captured the altogether ecstatic, rowdy, yet grave retelling of the 1996OzoneDiscotragedy. *On the song's last seconds, a loud, heavy thump is repeatedly heard (great effect of visualizing the banging of the door). The title itself gave the chills, knowing its backstory. "Itulak ang Pinto" (the more they tried to push the door and escape, the more it became a death trap. The doors were designed to be pulled in for exit) Narrating the real incident with a tragic love rendezvous, Unique created a metaphor of his personal experience throughout the song--the "disco fever" (Unique in IVOS) is now gone, burned in flames. Out of all his compositions, this song really impressed me the most. Kudos, Unique.

Not quite sure if tama ang na-research ko about the Ozone Club incident, pero may reason din behind the title. The title Itulak ang Pinto is actually related to the way how Ozone Club's door worked. It can only be opened by pushing the door from outside part and pulling if you're inside the club. Nung nangyari ang sunog, maraming na-trap mainly dahil dito. People are charging forward when in fact, the door can be opened by pulling. Imagining those people's panic reactions, they might thought that they're already trapped.

I remember this tradegy, na lock up yunh mga tao sa loob ng disco bar nung nagkasunog dahil nagpanic silang lahat, and the victims frustrately pushed the door para makalabas sila when it must pulled. thats why the management of ozone was somewhat held liable. Imagine, wala sanang namatay nun kung may nakaisip na hilain ung pinto. The title was amazing (itulak ang pinto) because that was the primary cause of the deaths of the vicmim and not really the fire.
Technically, mali yung pagbukas ng fire exit imbis na palabas yung pagbukas, paloob siya kaya nung nagpanic na at nagtutulakan na mga tao, hindi na nila mabuksan yung pinto.. kaya napaka importante talaga ng architectural design.
I just recently discovered IV of Spades and that time unique already left the group. Isa ako sa mga nanghinayang because I fell in love with their music but natanggap ko rin. IVOS and Unique, they are talented musicians and they produce amazing music. It's just sad that many people are hating on Unique because of what happen, saying na yumabang na sya, etc. c'mom he's a musician at hindi artista. Mas bigyan ng pansin ang mga kanta nya at wag punahin ang mga mababaw na bagay. For me magkasama man sila o hindi ang mahalaga ay ang musika nila. Hearing Unique's songs right now, makes me realize that he did the right decision. He can now freely express himself. Just support each one of them. Sila ang pag-asa ng OPM industry.

I understand now why Unique decided to leave the band. The message of the music was always overshadowed by the technical skills of Blaster and Zild, which isn't a bad thing. Now that he's solo, the messages that he wants to convey is loudly and clearly without being detracted by his other bandmates. I suppose this is good for all of them, since I was a fan of IVOS because of how good their instruments are. Win-win situation that they decided to separate.
@@Zekagu0000 its because of manager issues. Zild and the rest was introduced to a new manager but that would mean Kean Cipriano would be left alone who lifted them to success and Unique would not want that to happen so Unique and Kean parted to join OC records. Those were rumors but idk.

By the time the song hits the chorus, Unique was surprisingly on the DJ booth and eerily starts jamming to the music while the whole place is burning With tons of toxic gas, flames and smoke crawling at unimaginable speed, the horrific yet ear-splitting screams of people chaotically running for their lives as they rush towards the main entrance eventually creating a stampede. Unfortunately to some others, they've succumbed to their demise as they were consumed by the flames. The song ends with the news with Kabayan Noli de Castro's voice over broadcasting the tragedy.

When I was young, my Mom always loved to tell us, her children, stories from real-life events from the past -- be it life stories of renowned personalities and even crime cases that shocked the Philippines. Pero isa sa mga pinaka-tumatak sa akin ay yung kwento ng Ozone Disco. No doubt it is one of the most haunting stories my Mom ever told me. I was still in grade school nung una ko tong narinig sa kanya and I remembered how many times we talked about this randomly pag nakahiga kami sa kama at nagkkwentuhan about life. That's why I already knew well about this gruesome tragedy even before this song was released. But I tell you, when I first heard this masterpiece of a song when it was released, not only did it cause shiver down my spine, but it has also brought me back to one of my favorite part of my childhood memories, my Mom telling me random true-to-life stories. I loved how this song and the whole album is like a Grandma telling stories to the younger generation. To think the singer/songwriter, Unique, wasn't even born when this happened. That's how brilliant he is.

My quick analysis (as an amateur songwriter)
Who would've thought a wild party will turn into a wildfire that night? The music elements Unique utilized has captured the altogether ecstatic, rowdy, yet grave retelling of the 1996OzoneDiscotragedy. *On the song's last seconds, a loud, heavy thump is repeatedly heard (great effect of visualizing the banging of the door). The title itself gave the chills, knowing its backstory. "Itulak ang Pinto" (the more they tried to push the door and escape, the more it became a death trap. The doors were designed to be pulled in for exit)
Narrating the real incident with a tragic love rendezvous, Unique created a metaphor of his personal experience throughout the song--the "disco fever" (Unique in IVOS) is now gone, burned in flames.
Out of all his compositions, this song really impressed me the most. Kudos, Unique.

Not quite sure if tama ang na-research ko about the Ozone Club incident, pero may reason din behind the title.
The title Itulak ang Pinto is actually related to the way how Ozone Club's door worked. It can only be opened by pushing the door from outside part and pulling if you're inside the club. Nung nangyari ang sunog, maraming na-trap mainly dahil dito. People are charging forward when in fact, the door can be opened by pulling. Imagining those people's panic reactions, they might thought that they're already trapped.
That is the main reason why the title is "Itulak ang Pinto"

I remember this tradegy, na lock up yunh mga tao sa loob ng disco bar nung nagkasunog dahil nagpanic silang lahat, and the victims frustrately pushed the door para makalabas sila when it must pulled. thats why the management of ozone was somewhat held liable. Imagine, wala sanang namatay nun kung may nakaisip na hilain ung pinto. The title was amazing (itulak ang pinto) because that was the primary cause of the deaths of the vicmim and not really the fire.

I just recently discovered IV of Spades and that time unique already left the group. Isa ako sa mga nanghinayang because I fell in love with their music but natanggap ko rin. IVOS and Unique, they are talented musicians and they produce amazing music. It's just sad that many people are hating on Unique because of what happen, saying na yumabang na sya, etc. c'mom he's a musician at hindi artista. Mas bigyan ng pansin ang mga kanta nya at wag punahin ang mga mababaw na bagay. For me magkasama man sila o hindi ang mahalaga ay ang musika nila. Hearing Unique's songs right now, makes me realize that he did the right decision. He can now freely express himself. Just support each one of them. Sila ang pag-asa ng OPM industry.

I understand now why Unique decided to leave the band. The message of the music was always overshadowed by the technical skills of Blaster and Zild, which isn't a bad thing. Now that he's solo, the messages that he wants to convey is loudly and clearly without being detracted by his other bandmates.
I suppose this is good for all of them, since I was a fan of IVOS because of how good their instruments are. Win-win situation that they decided to separate.

This song has been sending chills down my spine simula nung napakinggan ko sa spotify. It's obviously reminiscent to the tragedy of ozone disco in the late 90s, at the same time it just marks the death of disco (coughsivofspadesreferencecoughs)
When I was young, my Mom always loved to tell us, her children, stories from real-life events from the past -- be it life stories of renowned personalities and even crime cases that shocked the Philippines. Pero isa sa mga pinaka-tumatak sa akin ay yung kwento ng Ozone Disco. No doubt it is one of the most haunting stories my Mom ever told me. I was still in grade school nung una ko tong narinig sa kanya and I remembered how many times we talked about this randomly pag nakahiga kami sa kama at nagkkwentuhan about life. That's why I already knew well about this gruesome tragedy even before this song was released. But I tell you, when I first heard this masterpiece of a song when it was released, not only did it cause shiver down my spine, but it has also brought me back to one of my favorite part of my childhood memories, my Mom telling me random true-to-life stories.
I loved how this song and the whole album is like a Grandma telling stories to the younger generation. To think the singer/songwriter, Unique, wasn't even born when this happened. That's how brilliant he is.

I was 9yrs old nong nangyari ang Ozone Disco Incident subrang trending yon kahit anong station ng TV or radio at sa mga news papers din. As bata that time parang wala akong paki alam though naririnig ko lng at nakikita sa TV but today listening to this song in my 30's mas naliwanagan ako kong anu ba talaga yong sanhe ng incident and to be honest ramdam ko yong bawat words sa kanta. may halong kilabot and pain. .I Pray that may their soul's rest in peace.🙏
