Today’s video is all about Fractures in Children for Nursing Students and NCLEX Review.
Fracture is the breaking or cracking of a bone. Several types of fractures exist including,
Complete fracture- the bone is broken into two.
Incomplete fracture-The bone is not completely broken into two.
Greenstick-a cracks or breaks on one side of the bone shaft (Common in children).
Comminuted fracture- The bone is broken into three or more fragments
Oblique fracture-The fracture produces a slanting appearance across the bone
Spiral fracture-the fracture winds across the bone
Transverse fracture-bone breaks at a 90-degree angle to the bone shaft.
Signs and symptoms of a bone fracture include; decreased mobility, swelling around the region, pain and inflammation, the extremity may appear abnormal, oedema, erythema, and neurovascular impairment.
The complication of bone fracture includes; osteomyelitis, compartment syndrome, or fat embolism. Nursing management entails the assessment of the 6 P's
Pain
Pallor
Paresthesia
Paralysis
Poikilothermia
Pulselessness
Immobilization of the impacted region, arresting bleeding, if any, cast and traction care, and monitoring for complications.

Nclex exam is really difficult and frustrating,

Nclex exam is really difficult and frustrating, I can't believe I failed again after studying so hard.
Yes you're correct but remember heaven help those who help themselves , try studying if you can't study then get yourself a good help

I’m sorry you didn’t pass. Nursing school is tough. I listened to videos when driving to nursing school and back. I didn’t go out on weekends and party like the younger students. I went to bed early and woke up early to study because this worked better for my sleep patterns. I took the Hearst Review and the Kaplan review before the NCLEX and passed. I also watched these TH-cam videos while putting on my makeup and any other times I could listen. I continue to have a hunger for learning. I got my BSN in 2015 at age 58, so it is never too late! You can do it! 🙏 fervently. I wish you well.

I just failed the Nclex exam.😭😭😓 I cannot begin to articulate the level of embarrassment and heartache I'm feeling. 😥 I'm confident that I will be a good nurse . I just need to get past this, move on and persevere
Well I've taken the exams for the second time now and still didn't succeed, i wonder how those who succeeded did it🥺😭
@@Mark-ks1rv Hey! Don’t give up. I used Simple Nursing, UWorld and a review center (that caters to my mother language review) and I was able to do it. I am not a smart student. But I did it. You will do it to, I am sure if you subscribe to Simple Nursing and another quiz Bank together.
Reading these comments gives so much motivation. This is my last semester of prerequisites before I can apply for the RN program. So I’m here trying to learn for the teas and nclex. Very nervous because I was never much of a test taker. But this channel and comments definitely gives hope.

I only had 1month to review for Qatar Licensure exam and this channel was my go to since I am a visual learner. I only spent few hours on you ur videos but I was able to remeber most of your lessons. At times it doesn’t matter how hard you study you also need to pray to God for success..

13:44 nurse mike, didn't you say earlier that hip surgery pt. should NOT be in fowler's position, and at 13:44, you say put pt. in 45degrees head of bed position. google says fowler's is 15 degrees to 45 degrees,
