I’ve been bumping this amp in my stang since 2013 with no issues everyday daily driver on a tarantula 1000w rms subwoofer 12” potted enclosure also rear speakers and front components sound nice. Great amp!
Just got one for $200 on eBay, and I got it mainly because of this video. Love Soundstream from the 90's had a continuum 5 channel as the base of my 1st 10k pro system and it was great. Now I'm old and $200 is perfect for me.
I bought one of this and installed it in my van. I have it running @ 1ohm on the sub and bridged @ 4ohms on the high side and it heats up pretty quickly and even went into protection after 30 mins playing hard.
This week I purchased this amp based on these results. Pushing 4 6.5’s, 2 tweets, and 2 15’s in a large sealed box like a champ. Just wish I could turn the dang lighting off but that is not an option. If they would have just included a subsonic filter this would be perfect. Those using DSP’s obviously need not worry about that. You can use this by itself to achieve an active system. Front channels for High’s, rear channels for Mid’s, and of course the sub channel. Will not fit 4 ga. and I had to cut a few stands of the 4 ga to get it in. If you are watching this and are on the fence about purchasing it, you better get one before they are discontinued. Big thanks to “Budget Gem or Budget Bust” and I hope you carry on the way you are for a long time.

Man thanks .. I'm about to put in of this in my C5 Corvette I was looking to put some dual amp set up but this will look much cleaner ... Thanks! Time to sell my old set up lol
I've had 100a fuses do over 135a pulls, but getting people to realize that is hard for some reason lol. I've never used circuit breakers but I've heard they will trip at the rating, although...... lol
Can you run the front/rear channels at 4 ohm and the sub channel at 2 ohm? Not specifically for this amp but in general? I'm looking around for a 5 channel amp to run front/tweets and 2x 250rms/500peak watt rockford fosgate punch R2 DVC 4ohm subs in a 2013 F150 standard cab (there's enough room behind seats for speakers and amp rack). I already have the subs so I'm trying to find the best amp to fit my wattage requirements. Have 4 gauge wire already installed running 2 10" RF R1's but that isn't enough. Not even sure jumping to the R2 12" is really going to be much better...
If it sucks 100 amps only from the sub output on 2 ohms how come it doesn't burn the fuse when is full connected on 5 channels ? I've seen that on many dyno's online and i can't understand how it works ! Thanks
I’m seeing a new amplifier on eBay I haven’t seen before. Its a Synergy EFA 2K for 179.$ Now if you go online and look them up they are much more. I was wondering if anyone has knowledge of these? They look like your standard Chinese amplifier.
they would probably do rated on the highs. i think the sub channel should get a pass because of its dynamic numbers. thats way higher than rated and a bit more typical of how itll get used.
Would you recommend this amp or the Rockville Db55? I have seen you video on both and can't decide which to choose to power the Alpine Type S I am running in my 2017 f150 along with a Pioneer ibflat 10.
Will it put out those number with all channels driven and the 4 channels also full range? I have big components, i only use the sub for the very low tones.
Budget Gem or Budget Bust wow. I gotta get me one of these. But I was thinking of the Tarantula T4.1500l four channel and then a T1.4000 for the sub instead of the 5 channel. What do you think about that setup?
I had this amp when it 1st came out. I did exactly that. 4ohm x 4 channels and 1ohm at the sub it pushed my NVX 15 rated at 1000 watts rms easily. it just got warm to the touch when doing prolonged plays. But I used it for a year sold it to a buddy of mine and he's still using it. Still to this day. It h'asnt skipped a beat yet.
Budget Gem or Budget Bust that would be freaking amazing! Not much in the 35.1 out there. Seeing if it can even handle 0.5. And I see many people knowing of these amps. So might make others happy just as me.
How does it compare to the ppi ice 2200 watt 5 channel? I have been wondering about them. Thinking maybe the ice 7000 is a tarantula 6000 rebranded maybe? And on down the series. Any thoughts? I know both brands are epsilon so is there a difference or just the same rebranded?
Hey I have the t1.6000dl can u do that I had to get it when my high end amp took a shit but this t1.6000dl acts like it has some power I would like to know how much power it does really put out
It has alot. I have two powering one 18" sub in a c-pillar wall in a sedan, true 20 farad cap with full dual runs of 0ga. Wiring between front and rear batteries. And they can easily cripple the voltage level. Still good for 20- 30 second blasts at full volume but that aint really fun. Also has dual runs of 0ga. For the big3 under the hood
Why oh why does Soundstream insist on putting those awful dime store chrome spiders on a piece of electronic gear??? Yeah, I get it... Tarantula series. But, its laughable and makes their stuff impossible to take seriously. Nice test Ryan!
I have a 2013 toyota avalon with a 9 speakers with a amp. The amp powers 2 speakers in the front doors and 2 speakers in the rear deck/back window. The 5 other speakers are powered by the head deck. I think my head deck is 4 ohms (saw pictures on ebay) and the 5 speakers are also in 4 ohms, while the 4 speakers ran by the amp are 2 ohms. I want to replace the 4 speakers ran by the amp and install a better amp. My question is do i need to install 2 ohm speakers or can i just install 4 speakers in 4 ohms? I didn't think you can have different speakers ran off different ohms. I hope i am making some sense. this is the amp i wanna get. Thank you. www.amazon.com/Rockville-dB55-Channel-Amplifier-Stereo/dp/B071SGK6FL/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=5+channel+car+amp&qid=1552812821&s=pet-supplies&sr=8-1
eh, its a soundstream, and their stuff tends to kill itself after a while since the company resurfaced or got bought out or whatever happened. so regardless of how it performs, its a case of how long will it do it long term?

Test out Arc Audio 850.5 or 1100.5 if you can get your hands on one, I'm getting the 850.5 for myself very soon
Man thanks .. I'm about to put in of this in my C5 Corvette I was looking to put some dual amp set up but this will look much cleaner ... Thanks! Time to sell my old set up lol
I bought one of those that was DOA so I am not happy at all with the El version but the first gen Ta3000d is my favorite.
you proly fried it
im calling that a well needed win for soundstream lol
I've had 100a fuses do over 135a pulls, but getting people to realize that is hard for some reason lol. I've never used circuit breakers but I've heard they will trip at the rating, although...... lol
Nice! Not a bad 5ch at all
What up doe, can you do a dyno on a PP Trax1.1200D monoblock amp, enjoy all your videos, thanks
I know I'm late, but look at the D4S 5 channel. That thing is a beast, even more power than what you stated
If it sucks 100 amps only from the sub output on 2 ohms how come it doesn't burn the fuse when is full connected on 5 channels ? I've seen that on many dyno's online and i can't understand how it works ! Thanks
The main channels were connected and playing... also fuses dont fail immediately at their ratings...
Can u test da db55 made by Rockville is a 5ch. Amp..!! thanks hope to see it soon keep up da gd. Vids..!!!!
hey, could you test the cheapest 2krms @2ohm amp you can find? need one for my subs but aint got much money
I’m seeing a new amplifier on eBay I haven’t seen before. Its a Synergy EFA 2K for 179.$ Now if you go online and look them up they are much more. I was wondering if anyone has knowledge of these? They look like your standard Chinese amplifier.
Great video, and an effort from Soundstream worthy of appreciation c; wonder how the high channels would perform at 1 kHz
they would probably do rated on the highs.
i think the sub channel should get a pass because of its dynamic numbers. thats way higher than rated and a bit more typical of how itll get used.
The website says this amp is .5 ohm stable. Thats nuts for a 5ch amp.
Would you recommend this amp or the Rockville Db55? I have seen you video on both and can't decide which to choose to power the Alpine Type S I am running in my 2017 f150 along with a Pioneer ibflat 10.
Did you end up deciding? I'm in the same boat
Will it put out those number with all channels driven and the 4 channels also full range? I have big components, i only use the sub for the very low tones.
I had the amp loaded down on all channels
Budget Gem or Budget Bust wow. I gotta get me one of these. But I was thinking of the Tarantula T4.1500l four channel and then a T1.4000 for the sub instead of the 5 channel. What do you think about that setup?
Reckon this would make a sundown sa 12 move pretty good?
I love the price per watt also but I absolutely hate the huge rating they put on the outside, my ocd won't allow me to buy it because of that.
I would like to see the soundstream ta3000D on the dyno
I had this amp when it 1st came out. I did exactly that. 4ohm x 4 channels and 1ohm at the sub it pushed my NVX 15 rated at 1000 watts rms easily. it just got warm to the touch when doing prolonged plays. But I used it for a year sold it to a buddy of mine and he's still using it. Still to this day. It h'asnt skipped a beat yet.
If I sent you a synergy WFO synergy 35.1. I would like to see a real true dyno on this amp. It reminds me of the twisted sonnds 3500 as in lay out.
I may or may not have some synergy WFO amps here in my possession:)
Budget Gem or Budget Bust that would be freaking amazing! Not much in the 35.1 out there. Seeing if it can even handle 0.5. And I see many people knowing of these amps. So might make others happy just as me.
Wait... a 5 channel amp that is 1 ohm stable???
Test a kole audio pH1-5500 phanatik. I'd like to see what my 3 jl's at 1.34 are really getting.
I have looked all over for a test of the Skar SK-m9005d, could be a gem at $149.
Can I talk you into dynoing the Infinity Kappa K600?
How does it compare to the ppi ice 2200 watt 5 channel? I have been wondering about them. Thinking maybe the ice 7000 is a tarantula 6000 rebranded maybe? And on down the series. Any thoughts? I know both brands are epsilon so is there a difference or just the same rebranded?
The Tarantulas and Black Ice amps do not line up
Hey I have the t1.6000dl can u do that I had to get it when my high end amp took a shit but this t1.6000dl acts like it has some power I would like to know how much power it does really put out
It has alot.
Can you do different ohm load per channel example front 4 rear 2 sub 1
Yes
Pretty darn impressive to me!
Why oh why does Soundstream insist on putting those awful dime store chrome spiders on a piece of electronic gear???
Yeah, I get it... Tarantula series. But, its laughable and makes their stuff impossible to take seriously.
Nice test Ryan!
For real, looks like flea market trash. Check out the rubicon, so nice looking
@@gideonbouwman4904 pfft you realize he tested the rube and it failed. you see the facts here. Nubs..
@@treynathaniel4075 talking about the vintage ones huh? We've been using them for ages with no issues.
Wasn't thinking the sub channel would hide some good dynamic power
Did you hook it up to some mids and highs to see how it sounds?
I did, and it sounded pretty good
I have a 2013 toyota avalon with a 9 speakers with a amp.
Wha6 is the other amp to the left at 5je beginning to the left?
I think your seeing my power supplies.
@@bigblank69 Oh ok whoops. Thanks for telling me.
I noticed you tested the 4 channels at 40 hz. Why not 1k hz? More than likely would have met, if not exceeded, its ratings
40hz is tougher on an amp.. so thats why I went with that
I agree with you on that. That is what most 4 channel amps are tested @1Khz.
I have a few amps I would like tested. Some old and one newish. Can I send em or the new one to ya?
Is the subwoofer channel also class ab?
Its class D
