There's a subtle difference between performer and entertainer, it all seems so natural to Haim, a testament to the hard work they put in. I'm so impressed every time I hear their work. xxxA
Amazing how Don't Wanna, being the first song that they recorded for wimpiii, sounds so much like their previous album, and the other songs has this different experimental and vulnerable tone. This shows how much they are on top of their game. I love this girls so much!!
These 3 sisters got high musical talent and chops! "Haim" is not just some superficial girl band! And they are deepening as a band and their content of songwriting and musical excellence. Continuing the tradition of singer-songwriters like Sheryl Crow and further back Joni Mitchell and so many others! Keep on going growing ladies!
Commenting here just bec I don’t have anyone to share my thoughts about this band. I mean I can’t simply explain how I could make anyone understand the dynamic of their music. I wish more people would intently listen to them. They’re just SO GOOD.
It's a treat watching the Haim sisters being their smart, funny, lovely selves and enjoying this more stripped-down sound. The new album is terrific, but having played "The Steps," "Now I'm In It," and "I Know Alone" to death, I was super rocked by this stunning version of "Gasoline." And thanks for making this a fundraiser for the Bail Project. SUCH nice girls! (said with nana-like accent)
I discovered HAIM about a month ago. I had heard of them before but didn't think their music would appeal to me. Yet something compelled me to watch the video clip for "The Steps," which I did, and I instantly fell in love. I watched the videos to their other new songs from WIMP III. Fell even deeper. Went back and watched videos of their older material and I just gotta say: these three are the Real Deal. In a musical landscape polluted by overproduced pop confections and profane rap and hip hop, HAIM creates true pop music: beautiful harmonies, gorgeous arrangements, and lyrics that will make you laugh, cry, and smile. The bond they share as sisters comes thru in their compositions. You can't help but be spiritually lifted by their music. WIMP III couldn't come at a better time, with Covid and racial tension brewing outside our doors. This album-as in all HAIM's music-is meant to stir the soul. It feels heaven sent. In fact, it is no stretch to say that HAIM is our hallelujah. I genuflect at their altar. Consider me a fan!
Welcome to the fandom! I had a similar experience to you with them. I saw their If I Could Change Your Mind video and didnt think much to the song then, but for some reason I kept going back to it. Then I looked at all their other tracks from Days Are Gone, falling deeper and deeper in love. To this day I'm obsessed (and got my sister obsessed!). Your comment made me smile and un so happy for you that you've found this amazingly talented band. HAIM love to you
Dude I just discovered them too a few months and am absolutely in love with them! They are the real deal and so talented. Bought their album on vinyl yesterday, can’t wait to listen to it start to finish.
I was the same way, they are an amazing band, I saw them live in Austin, Texas and I love their Live Versions a little more than their Album Versions...welcome to the fandom.
i found them in august last year, after their collaboration with Charli XCX, on their song "Warm", absolute banger btw, and really got into them like 3-4 months ago, now i cant stop listening to this record, so many hits imo, such as 'All The Ever Mattered', '3am', 'Now I'm In It' to name a few
