Started thinking about is it even feasible that any faction of the 40K verse can achieve total galactic domination? Which do you want me to look at next? Tyranids? Necron? lol Tau? Please help me to appease our thirsty god of TH-cam ALGO by dropping a Like and tell me your thoughts if you enjoyed this video.
Good vid bro, 8.4/10
tyranids for sure bro the ALGO (and to a lesser extent me :)) would enjoy
The Orks could, but if they did they would then only have each other to fight, with no active challenge to motivate them they'd just slowly devolve into a bunch of scattered pockets that would occasionally rise and fall until there was nothing left to fight over.
The Imperium, Eldar, and yes regrettably the tau are the only species i could see having a stable future after galactic domination.
Orks, always 😂
If chaos got anywhere close to total victory, Tzeentch would flip the table and sabotage his own side to keep things interesting.

OH GOD please pls pls please GM let us have just one damn Space 4x game like this, like Endless Space 2, where we get to actually play a vast galaxy size map--obviously nowhere near ES2 I mean ES2 hugest maps would be like a segmentum tops--and much like the Risk style play of Dawn of War 1 Dark Crusade and get to do an actual galaxy wipe. I've craved this game since forever and it saddens and baffles me that there's a 40k game in literally EVERY SINGLE DAMN GENRE, EVEN CHESS FFS *except* the one damn genre the whole setting was practically made for: space 4x. The closest we ever got was Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 and Gladius, but the one is literally just a single world setting (so basically it's like any other 40k game, scaled down even because Inquisitor Martyr and Rogue Trader I can fly around, in others I can fight over sectors) the other is just giving me clusters of systems.
I know I know, it's practically impossible to actually do this in a realistic way for the same reason we can never see an easy win for any faction within the next couple thousand years, but still. Space 4x I'd want in a heartbeat. I guess it would just be really weird to pull off because traditional space 4x rely on Risk-like territories, or even RTS like contiguous national territories, as opposed to 40k where everyone except like the Tau is fairly distributed all over the galaxy. So you'd have worlds within everybody's territory and I don't know how to deal with that. You'd basically have active threat borders and active wars at all directions at all times and it'd make any remotely accurate depiction a rather interesting inversion of traditional space 4x because it'd make the starting the most absolutely hectic, chaotic, desperate struggle for everybody to survive, followed by massive hegemonic blobs in a slow, long attrition grind likely looking like Chaos, necrons, nids etc. slowly just steamrolling the entire galaxy hundreds of worlds at each turn in a slow but steady grind.
I really don't know how you should do that one accurately but I would love to play a total galaxy wipe non-canon 40k space 4x where you could more or less decide how 40k itself actually ends. Who knows. Maybe even the Tau could convert the Eldar and Mankind to Greater Good and slowly impose order on the whole galaxy lol.

15:30 Abandons goal to conquer the Imperium is an incredibly monumental task. He has more things to worry about than just the Imperium. 48:40 How Chaos usually operates regarding campaign tactics.
But his ultimate goal is the destruction of the Imperium. Once that's achieved, it's true chaos
I mean. He's really more concerned with just wrecking up the place tho right?
Ah, winning is easy, young man, governing's harder
@@ikhidealigbeh514occupations never succeed
@@Micsmathats just not true
37:16 a good explanation would be that they literally never had a clue about chaos. Remember that the Eye of Terror is where the Eldar homeworlds once were. The network of pylons surrounding it was probably just part of the conflict between the Eldar and Necrons.
Thinking about it a little more tho, it's totally plausible that the chronomancers could've seen into the future and found that, maybe not what's known as Chaos now, but _something_ would emerge from there. Or maybe that area is where the Enslaver Plague of all things started and they were fighting them too, who knows lmao
From recent snippets in White Dwarf magazines, we learned more specific details about the Eye of Terror. Apparently, it was a wound in reality that was torn during the War in Heaven. Then the Necrons closed the wound again with the pylons, but unfortunately, the core of the Eldar Empire happened to be were the old rift was located. The birth of Slaanesh ripped the wound open again, and that's the Eye of Terra we know today. I had the impression that many fans hated this kind of retcon, but I'm okay with it
@@Schmierhaar that is kinda lame imo. It'd be far cooler if it was just because of the warfare between the Eldar and Necrons. But I don't really hate that either.

Luetin, I love your videos, but especially your Tyranid videos. Since you’ve been revisiting/redoing some of your older videos, it would be awesome to see you redo your video on the first encounter between the Imperium of Man and the Tyranids at Tyran Primus and Macragge during the First Tyrannic War. That video is my absolute favorite of all your videos and it would be great if it got touched up.
The Emperor protects.
"Orcs are a persistent and random problem" - is a pretty comprehensive description of this race.
Firstly, this one is super meaty and fun to chew over. Umami abounds. Secondly, you touched on it, but I don't think you stressed enough that an Imperium significantly weakened by Chaos writes an end to Chaos, as other factions opportunistcally erase humanity as Chaos' major energy source.
Third: who's next? Tyranninds, I think, as they seek no control, merely resources. Definitely save the Imperium for your final or penultimate installment, with the Tau and/or other smaller factions being last or just prior.
Finally, as always, my thanks. You make my world a richer place.
Good video. Only piece I think you may have missed is Eldar assisting the Imperium against chaos. Eldrad, Yvranne, ... even the Avatar in Shadow Point. Numerically, I'm not sure this amounts to much, but strategically it could be a force multiplier toward both races' goals. Granted those are likely esoteric interactions compared to direct conflict between them. Eldrad or a unified Aeldari in concert with the two returned primarchs' acumen pairs up well.
On the other end, while I doubt the Godblight would be something to kill the Emperor - at least in GW's continuation of the lore - it could severely weaken the Emperor or raise the stakes in the Great Game (if the Emperor is ascending).
If Chaos was a parasite, then the death of its host would be only a Pyhrric victory for a short amount of time before it would look for another more healthy host lest it die along with it.
Tzeentch is vastly underestimated in how far it would go to ensure the Great Game never ends to the point of self-destruction just enough to continue and even the odds for those Chaos preys upon.
AoS is actually an exploration of exactly this scenario. Chaos just straight up won in the Mortal Realms, and the Age of Sigmar is the age in which the other forces take steps back onto the stage of the Mortal Realms
I love the thought experiment if a galaxy rules by Tau where everyone is best buddies. A video is n their ideal would be an amazing thing to consider.
I'd love to see a similar video regarding the Eldar. Or the Imperium.
We know what an elder dominated galaxy looks like, it birthed slaanesh.
He said the original goal was to cover what all factions would look like but Chaos became an entire video. I think we’ll slowly get most of them, though the imperium isn’t just one faction, that could be a series.

Add The Exploring Series and Volgun to that list.
Looking at what would be required for the Tyranids to dominate and achieve their "win" status would probably be the most obvious interesting followup, considering how they're always presented as one of, if not 'the' ultimate threat the galaxy faces.
But on the other hand, the sheer improbability and herculean feat of the Tau achieving theirs would also make a very fun topic to explore, considering just how high they would need to be punching above their weight class to even reach a hundredth of what would be required.
Pure excellence. Thank you. Your content and quality draws me every time where I can allow myself to just listen/watch without care and enjoy an immersion from another point of view. I don't know what else to say, it means a lot :) Well done.
Please do more of these. I love theoretical discussions like this
Your welcome
Some say the Emperor’s light reaches to the far corners of the galaxy. I say it shines right through my phone every time I open a luetin video. Praise be.
There would still probably be villages, towns, or even worlds where everything would go on just as normal. Even in warp some worlds seem to be just weirdly normal. Warp is sort of infinite so it fits all kinds. Most of it of course would just be torture. But even chaos knows that without hope torture is meaningless.
Both the necron and the tyranids are both the 2 players most set up for the ultimate victory. In most factions when discussing what they would need to win it almost always an “if”. If the Imperium could gain a small respite from the endless onslaught ,if the Eldar could be free from the ever present threat of Slannesh, if Chaos could ever unite, so on and so forth with almost every faction. But for the Necron and the Tyranid it’s no longer an “if” but a “when”. For the Necron you have 2 opposing factions the Silent King and the Storm Lord. So once the inevitable showdown happens between them the Necron would be, save a few small dynasties, completely united. On top of this for each tomb world that comes back online the balance of power shifts tips more and more in the Necron’s favor.
For the Tyranid it’s pretty simple their ultimate victory comes when the main swarm arrives. Of course though, if we even live long enough to see the Warhammer 40,000’s end times, the faction that wins will always be the one that drives the most model sales, and the lore will simply change to reflect that.
shout out to you luetin! you were my first introduction to 40k lore and part of the reason I've decided to start collecting the books!
I'm gonna be honest Chaos Undivided is something I happy to not see happening. If the current chaos presence is just fallen out figures from the war table that is the warp itself, I'm horrified to think about what could Chaos achieve if they would take a serious interest in the mortal realm. Thank you for this video Loremaster, I just love hearing about chaos stuff.
I find it as a paradox, a hypocrisy. For chaos to become unified, the warp needs to bound. Probably the gods to die and be formed a new. If anything I think it would take a thing to draw the union of the gods. I would assume another God forming or something that distorts warp, like Necron or Tyranid. Even then the gods would still make plays. I mean didn't Tzeetch stop himself from winning to make it interesting? I feel like they would never unify at current form and lore. Unless GW decides to go, "You're all friends now"
Love this. Chaos is such an interesting faction as a whole. The Imperium achieving total domination would be interesting because I don't know if they would be able to adapt to an existence without war. Even if they somehow evaded any chaos corruption, they would likely still be armed to stop revolts. I suppose then the risk would just be humanity going back to regional factions.
Ironically if Imperium won and defeated all its enemies it would have to reform greatly to be able to operate in oeace time. If they don't do it or fail it - Imperium will be destroyed by rebellions and revolutions from within because without outside threats people ( and planetar elites too ) will see no reasons to support opressive regime. The enemies of Imperium are the dire threat to it, by there are also the very thing what keeps it together.
Love these videos. The voice, editing and lore is on point like it’s always gonna be!
Thank you for your videos Luetin! Your way of explaining the lore is simply perfect!
In my mind, the only faction that could conquer the galaxy is the Tyranids, and it's surprisingly easy for them to do so on paper; they are ridiculously overpowered. Defeating all mortal foes is feasible for them, which just leaves the Warp. Even if they didn't have their Shadow in the Warp effect, the scouring of all other life in the galaxy should weaken Chaos substantially, perhaps even to the point where the Chaos Gods lose sentience or, at the very least, can no longer influence realspace. And once they were victorious, they wouldn't need to worry about administering an empire, maintaining the happiness of their citizens, or any of that nonsense. They'd just move on to the next galaxy.
Not to mention hive fleet Kronos, the anti-warp/Daemon fleet that is closing the Great rift where it goes
*Distant Necron laughter*
The necrons are a *hard* counter to the Nids. Even the Tyranids avoid tomb worlds. The necrons don't have biomass to absorb and have tech so dangerous even they don't use it
If chaos ruled the galaxy I might finally find happiness
Aren't you a Tyranid player? 😏
@Broadside. obviously all life being consumed in the galaxy would be pure bliss. But I'll settle for mass suffering as I laugh on my mini throne of skulls
@@NornQueenKyago to church
I think what you said at the end could relate to a similar situation as in Isaac Asimovs The gods themselves, where humanity starts trading matter with beings in a different universe with different atomic laws, so that both essentially create energy for free, but they discover that bringing matter from another universe also brings a bit of their laws over, so the threat becomes that the local change in the strong nuclear force would cause the sun to go supernova.
Maybe real space also bleeds into the warp same as the warp bleeds into the materium. Seeing as daemons hate reality, maybe the gods dont want to pollute their realm with physics any more than necessary.

if their arses are still doing nasty stuff, she's coming back in the blink of an eye (talking about the dark eldar)
@@caiohenrique1603 dark eldar do what they do to avoid their souls being taken by slaanesh. With slaanesh out of the picture there would likely be some type of civil war between the dark eldar as some of their number would try to become more like craftworld edar while others might want to stick to piracy and homonculi anyway. Maybe craftworld eldar would interviene. Either way, gomorrah would be changed forever and it-s possible the destruction and vacuum left over from this conflict would be fertile ground for the creation of a new xenos faction, eldar or otherwise
I don't believe they could actually kill Slaanesh(it would be a retarded business move because Slaanesh sells). Instead, I think GW would just have them no longer go to Slaanesh by default.

All 4 chaos gods have elements that bleed into the others, so I doubt they could truly overpower one another definetily. Decay requires change, fueling Tszeentch. Tszeentch requiring change will eventually lead to excess, death, bloodshed. Khorne revelling in bloodshed fuels into excess and decay. Excess leads to change, bloodshed and eventuall decay in it's wake. It is a wobbling but ironically balanced swirl of chaos.
Exactly.
I think that if chaos ever "won" the galaxy would become an ever changing mosaic of minor fiefdoms. Each one ruled by a local warlord or high priest and extending only as far as their influence reaches.

3) no, but he could probably take a sororitas

Thanks for putting in the time to do this Lutien, you sir are a legend !!!!
The Necron blackstone pylons around the Eye of Terror weren't there to contain the Eye, they were there to contain the Aeldari Empire . . . . It was basically a defensive line around their most threatening opponents before they went into slumber. Wether they were actively used during that period is largely irrelevant since the point of the slumber was to wait for the Eldar to weaken, and then fracturing a weakened opponent with rings of null zones would be a fantastic long term strategy. That these defenses caught the EYe of Terror seems more like a happy accident to me than anything else.
I see it as necron realising the danger of warp, and deciding that they should plan against it.
Was is Eldar that they feared might unleash it? Or annyone else? Dosn't matter, it might be a problem in the future and better to have plan against it.
Our world would be on a whole new of chaos if 40k warhammer shenanigans got into our world
Which chaos god would reign supreme on earth do you think?
I'd guess slaanesh, people, especially these days, are far more selfish and chasing that next minor thrill
Nurgle might be too icky, but people might turn to him for protection if there were disease outbreaks
Khorne would do well, lots of hate between loads of groups religious, ethnic, racial, cultural, national and more
Tzeentch might be middling, it would require a lot of effort to become a sorcerer, and it still comes with risks (possession, mutation, chaos spawn), but magic has that cool factor that could draw people in, and the weak might see tzeentch as a way of gaining power and strength if physical strength is not possible
@@ragnarian Tzeentch middling in nowadays? Nah, not at all, deceit, hope, lies, manipulation... The worldwide political panorama is nowadays an umfathomable tribute to The Changer or Ways

Luetin talking about original narratives. I'm honestly surprised he hasn't been approached by GamesWorkshop to write an official lore book. He is literally THE lore master on YT.
What about speculating whether or not the Emperor could be a Chaos God and or/ will become one
this would be interesting. i mean he could be malice.they kinda have things in common, like wanting to kill the other chaos god,he has saints(demon princes), legion of the damend could be his demons,he is empowered by worship and sacrifice. if this is not the case,he could be ome a god with all the sacrifice and worship he got over 10k years
@@aliushali6352 Exactly my point. A lot of people say he will become a chaos god with all those sacrifices and worshippers when he comes off the throne

[Luetin has entered the chat]
As impossible as it is considering the numbers involved but what if the harlequins and ynari were successful in their goals. Even more so with necrons as both would have serious implications mostly on chaos in one case destroying slanesh and the second fully separating the warp from real space and we have no idea what issues that would exactly cause on both sides of the warp.
This raises an interesting question, Warp exists in other galaxies such as Andromeda or the Pinwheel Galaxy, in addition these galaxies share the same Gods of Chaos and each one has its individual, this would make a great video.

Andromeda Galaxy you say. Funny you mention it.
In Andromeda from whence the nids came, there is only Khornesh: he who hungers and thirsts to kill and consume
As always I like these thought exercises. I like the story telling more tbh. But as always, really appreciate your effort in research and narration.

It says in the new core book that the living in the imperium is the worst existence imaginable but I feel like if chaos would be far worse some people in the imperium have horrible fates done upon them but if chaos ruled that would be the norm
I don't follow. Life in the Imperium is the norm it just depends on which country you are depends on what they'll require from you. Chaos would simply reduce you to the most torturous and demonic tortures in existence without relief and dying would only be damning your soul as a plaything. There wouldn't be any Ws to be had in a Chaos ruled Imperium
are we forgetting that in lore chaos canonically has conquered entire realities? and that in the grand scheme of things the 40k galaxy really isnt that important to chaos?
You have references for that?
I think you may be confusing 40k with Warcraft
no bro, the forces of chaos originated from the races of the galaxy, you might be mistaking 40k with something else
however, what is more important to them is control over themselves, there is always an ongoing war over dominance over the warp between the chaos gods

Interesting concept for a new speculative series, always thought about Chaos domination myself, but to be honest I am more interested what the Necron and Tau (lmao no way) would like if they achieved galactic dominion over the Galaxy. Tyranids I feel like would be an obvious dead barren galaxy with a force vastly stronger than what they had previous arrived with, the Ork boyz would get bored and start fighting each other for shitz n gigglez, and the Eldar would either implode the galaxy or have the massive task of re-terraforming the galaxy. Great piece overall Lore Master, the ALGO BECKONS!
Just got home, sitting down to have dinner, your timing is perfect!
Also the answer to the title is obviously a Utopia
Don't know what I'd do without these vids, much love lore master❤
It's always Christmas morning when there is a fresh Luetin drop to listen to several times in a row lol 🎉😊❤
ayy just got out of work its like almost 11 at night and this notification was staring at me my whole shift 😂😂😂 glad to finally be able to watch now lol
What a thing to open TH-cam to after a few beers, it’s the unexpected ones that are the best 👌
I don't think I've ever even SEEN a 40k model, but holy hell is the lore up my alley...
Excellent.
Even though not a single thing over the last 20 years has ever made me see Chaos as anything but being anathema to civilization and yes, Evil, I always welcome an hour of lore rambles.
I think the most succinct way to describe Slaanesh is as the chaos god of temptation and excess. Of the four chaos gods, I think Nurgle and Tzeentch are harder to summarise briefly. Temptation and lack of moderation leading to one's corruption and downfall is a tale as old as time, everyone can grasp that concept readily.
You help me with me sleep problems, so many thanks. I will listen the video full today.
